  1. Where has this Nathan Jones rumour come from exactly? I'm wondering if Ankersen is actually looking to try and replicate the success Brentford have had by promoting from within and is considering giving the job full time to Selles. Would be a massive gamble, but I expect all the Brentford fans said the same about Frank when he was given the top job and that has worked out well for them.
  2. https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2022-11-07/southampton-football-club-part-company-with-ralph-hasenhuttl-statement Southampton Football Club can confirm it has parted company with Men’s First Team Manager Ralph Hasenhüttl. First Team Assistant Coach Richard Kitzbichler has also today left the club. Hasenhüttl, who was appointed in December 2018, departs having made a significant contribution to the club, overseeing some memorable results and also playing a key role in the development of our club infrastructure, identity and playing squad. However, we now believe it is an appropriate time to make a change. Everyone involved with the club would like to express their sincere thanks to Ralph for all of his efforts, as well as the unwavering commitment he has shown throughout his time as manager. First Team Lead Coach Rubén Sellés will take charge of the side on an interim basis for our game on Wednesday night. The club will be announcing a permanent replacement in due course.
  3. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/63539451 He's gone.
  4. I doubt they would care. PL football is a multi-billion pound, cut-throat industry. Nobody goes into management in that environment under any illusions that they will be treated fairly and equitably if things don't go well. At the moment, all we have is rumours in the press. the fact is that nobody (on this forum or anywhere else) actually knows what is going on behind the scenes, so to suggest that SR's behaviour is unsavoury is just pure speculation at this point.
  5. His view was blocked by AMN. Oh FFS. 3-0 now. Utter fucking garbage from us again. Newcastle showing the kinf of finishing quality we completely lack.
  6. Big chance for Moi to equalise. Should have done better really. Overall it's not been too bad a performance. Certainly a big improvement on last week's first half display at Palace anyway.
  7. How the fuck is that not a foul on Che?
  8. I think he just slipped. That wasn't intentional.
  9. Will have to be AMN. Hopefully Lavia is fit enough to come on in his place in CM.
  10. She makes Cruella Braverman look moderate!
  11. I don't know too much about him, but isn't it refreshing that the US has a president that doesn't make daily headlines showing what an awful cunt he is?
  12. Imagine that... He would basically be an unfunny combination of Alf Garnett and Al Murray's pub landlord.
  13. Hmmm. There must be a dividing line somewhere between 'conned' and 'thick as pig-shit'.
  14. Oh dear. Having trouble differentiating between "might not" and "will not" are you? The rest of Tajjuk's post was actually very well informed, using official figures from the refugee council. Maybe you should have a read of their website. It will help to dispel some of the many false impressions about refugees and people seeking asylum that you appear to have. Like this one: And this one: As for the last point in your quote from the gov website, about a safe third country being one that would not send people on to another country where they may be harmed... do they mean a country like Rwanda perhaps?
  15. Interesting. Never realised that. Everyone around me assumed it was for offside, and I remember thinking to myself "what's that then?" and not wanting to embarrass myself by asking someone! 🤣
  16. I remember having a goal disallowed and not having the faintest idea why because I had never even heard of the offside rule before that.
  17. I think so. This was before the days of transfer windows and he had only just recently signed (around the same time as Micky Adams). I was there in the Milton end for this. It's the moment I truly discovered my love of football and the emotions it can stir. I was 14 and had only started going to watch games earlier that season (first match was a 2-1 ET defeat to Luton in the league cup), and we were really poor for the most part. When Razor smashed in that penalty to end a winless run of 22 games, the celebrations in the terrace around me were absolutely mental.

  19. Yeah probably, but with more emphasis on windfall taxes on energy companies. And on that note, I see BP have today reported profits almost treble what they made for the same period last year.
  20. See, this again highlights the point @tajjuk made that the majority of the media in this country is heavily right leaning. Their published plan is available on their website, and promoted by them as much as possible on all social media channels. But most of the TV and print media won't bother reporting it.
  21. Given what Palace paid for him, and that Gao was still in charge at the time, it's no wonder we didn't get him and ended up with a much cheaper option.
  22. They released a detailed plan in August explaining exactly how they plan to address the cost of living crisis, which was supported by numerous senior figures in big business. But something about the tone of your post suggests to me that you wouldn't be interested in reading it anyway. Then Truss came along and well and truly fucked the entire country with her utterly deranged plans that literally everyone with any economic sense could see were a recipe for disaster.
  23. One of the very first things Rishi did after taking office was to stand up in the HoC and claim that Braverman reported the 'error' immediately. Some details already emerging which suggest this wasn't the case, and that she didn't actually report it at all because it was the receiving MPs office that notified the cabinet office, not hers. Less than a week into the job and the new PM could be facing an inquiry as to whether or not he mislead the house. Dear oh fucking dear. What a shitshow.
