  1. The BBC live table looks rather tasty right now!
  2. MORGAN you beauty!!!!!!!
  3. There are always annoying pop-ups on the Flash (in-browser) streams, and you will regularly see ones that tell you that you are missing a certain plug-in to watch the stream and 'click here' to download. Avoid it - it's malware. You don't need to install anything to watch Flash streams, and following these links will just install some malware on your system. The pop-up boxes will have a tiny (almost invisible) X to close it, which you often have to wait 30 seconds for, or hunt around the screen looking for it. If you go to http://www.wiziwig.tv/ they have links to streams that are either Flash, Sopcast or Acestream. The latter is worth installing (http://acestream.org/) if you have a decent enough internet connection, because they are high-quality streams with no annoying pop-ups or ads, although they are usually only available when it is the only game on at the time because it's on Sky. If you're looking for Saints v Wigan for instance, at 3pm on a saturday when there are 6-7 other games on then you'll have to settle for the Flash ones. The only downside with Acestream is the commentary will usually be in Ukranian or something like that. All allegedly, of course
  4. If they are lucky they will start next season in the Blue Square South :-)
  5. Doesn't work like that because the situations are completely different. Their -10 will apply when they come out of admin, and if they don't manage to do that before the end of the season they will be booted out of the league altogether.
  6. Norwich 2-1 :-(
  7. Sheez, how far behind is my stream!?
  8. No, different situation. we had our points deduction carried over because we entered admin after the cut-off point to have them applied that season (some date in march I believe). Pompey's will be deducted when they come out of admin, and if they don't do that before the end of this season they will be kicked out of the league anyway.
  9. Yeah olives for me. Couldn't stand them when I was younger, along with lots of other things. Other ones include... Cabbage Sprouts Parsnips Mustard Mushrooms Spinach Coffee I was so picky with my food as a kid that my mum used to have a nightmare trying to get me to eat anything at times, but I've gone totally the other way now - I'll eat pretty much anything these days. I can only think of two foods I really can't stand and that's celery and parsley.
  10. Regards the Stone Roses, I saw them at Optimus Alive festival in Lisbon last summer. Like you Kelvin I was full of anticipation because I never thought I would get to see them live, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes, Ian Brown can't sing, and at times he was so badly out of key you had to wonder how he ever became a singer in the first place. But the thing is, being a not-very-good singer never held him back before, and in fact his raw, unpolished voice was a major part of what made the Roses' sound so unique in the first place. As for the rest of the band - it was as if they had never split. They jammed for about 5 minutes after almost every track while Ian waved his maraccas and hyped up the crowd, and you could sense the chemistry between them. It really was a special thing to experience. Now my anticipation is all about another gig I am going to at Manchester Apollo next weekend - a band that I also never expected I would get to see live, not because they had split up years ago like the Stone Roses, but because they very rarely play in the UK: the mighty, majestic, awe-inspiring Sigur Ros.

    The Brits

I don't know why anybody even pays the slightest bit of attention to The Brits anyway. It's just an excuse for a load of commercial music industry execs and pop bands to get together and blow sunshine up each others' ar$es while glugging free champagne. It's not like the awards themselves hold any credibility... A few years back they gave a lifetime achievement award t the Spice Girls and in the same year awarded best dance act to the f***ing Sugababes!
  12. Very sad loss. RIP Richard - your talents brought joy to millions and will be sadly missed.
  13. Oh indeed. It's probably the music that really makes it for me. From the opening sequence featuring Big Rock Candy Mountain, to Man of Constant Sorrow, to the blues song about death sung by the grave-diggers towards the end. It is the most perfect musical accompaniment to any film I could imagine.
  14. If you are referring to Coen Brothers films, do you not mean 'A Serious Man'? Wonderfully underrated film IMO. Walter: Am I wrong? Dude: No Walter you're not wrong, you're just an asshole! Brilliant stuff. You are right about it being a hard one to get to grips with first time round. I watched it on recommendation from a friend of mine and have to admit I was less than impressed with it - I guess I just hadn't tuned in to the Coens' sense of humour yet because it has now become one of my favourite films as well. But coming back to the point of this thread, and this was my first thought before anybody else mentioned any of the Coen brothers' work, the one film I can happily watch over and over and never tire of is O Brother Where Art Thou? The atmosphere they captured when shooting this just does something to me at such a fundamental level, and I love the fact that anybody could dream up the idea of making a wacky, off-the-wall comedy based on Homer's The Odyssey.
  15. Perhaps he thought she was a replicant?
  16. Was that when he had just returned from a long injury lay-off and the whole second-string team had an off night? I personally wouldn't be so quick to write him off. From what little I saw of him last year I thought he had an excellent touch and shot, and was a very intelligent player. His goal against Derby and the crucial part he played in setting up Lambert for our snatch and grab away at Leeds are enough for me to believe he has got something about him. It's just a shame he hasn't had a decent run in the team to prove himself.

  18. Correction - make that 3 points behind with an identical GD. We're coming for yooooouuuuuu!
  19. We're only 4 points behind them, with a similar goal difference and still got to play them at home. I would say we are definitely competing with them, especially given our recent performances.
  20. Who votes for these things? Nasri gets three stars but Cork only gets two and a half!?!?!?!
  21. For me it was no surprise that our performances drastically improved when Davis replaced Gaston at United and at Wigan. Ramirez is far too much of a luxury and he clearly doesn't fit in with our new style of play under MP. He is far too predictable and easy to defend against, and more often than not expects to waltz past defenders which invariably ends up giving away possession. Davis has been the key in the last few games for me: the missing piece of the puzzle if you like. Barring injuries, it's really hard to see how Gaston will reclaim a place in the starting 11.

    Redknapp

Seeing as they have Man Utd next week and Reading are playing Wigan at home, they could easily be 9 points adrift of safety by the time we play them. Given their remaining fixtures, it's hard to see how they could possibly claw that back.
  23. Agree he was very good at mopping up and made some crucial interceptions. But he is still too panicky in playing the ball out of defence and gives it straight back to the oppo on too many occasions for my liking. It doesn't really fit with the style of the rest of the team either. I realise that there are times when "If in doubt, get it out" is appropriate, but a few times last night he played some very hurried long punts upfield to nobody when he had time and space to pick out a red shirt instead. That's why I think he will be dropped as soon as Forren is fit.
