It's not just today though. His set-piece delivery has been really poor every time I have seen him play this season. Can't hit the shots on target and can't seem to even beat the first man most of the time. It's not just him either - this is a real problem area for us - quality delivery into the box. The best ball-in I saw all game today came from Fonte on the right wing, which AL couldn't quite latch on to. If we have to rely on him getting forward to produce the kind of quality we need to supply Rickie up front then that is a genuine worry.

Very difficult for him to use his pace against defenders in such awful conditions today. That has been his best attribute recently so it's no surprise he wasn't as effective today. Needs to work on his shooting though - as does Lallana.

Actually that was the most effective I have seen him play away from home yet - in the first half anyway. The weather obviously got the better of him in the second half though.

On the subject of the refereeing though, about a minute before the penalty there was the clearest foul you could imagine on Yoshi right down in the Norwich corner, right in front of the Lino - yet he flagged for a goal kick. FWIW, I do think there was a slight push from Shaw inside the box but Holt was running away from the goal and went over far too easily. Can see why it was given but if that was Man U it would never have been, you can guarantee it.

I thought it was a much improved performance from last week to be fair. The side looks so much more comfortable in defence without Fox. Norwich didn't get anything past them. Just infuriating that we wasted so many glorious chances up front.

Yeah he has been more effective than in other away games I've seen, but he still needs to learn not to throw himself to the ground at the first opportunity. He had a 50-50 chase on just now and just fell over as soon as there was the slightest shoulder-contact with the defender.

Agreed. If Clyne is fit enough to be on the bench then he is fit enough to play a half. Even a semi-fit Clyne would be a much better option than Yoshi.
