John Inverdale, when not watching or commentating on the the egg-chasing, is a Saints fan. I heard him recounting his memories of the 76 cup final in a radio show once.

Just got this on an email alert... http://www.gigsandtours.com/tour/sigur-ros/?src=gtemail

Lastnight's documentary showed him up for what I have long suspected about him: a devious, conniving s***bag who will say and do anything to perpetuate his cheeky-chappy, lovable buffoon image, while being anything but. Millions of people seem to have been taken in by his apparent charm, but not me. If he ever gets to be PM, I'm emigrating.

Webber: "Seb made his own decisions today, and he'll be protected as usual." Ouch.

Oh wow - another Red Bull 1-2. Didn't see that coming Rosberg is gonna be ****ed!

Dodgy wheel nut problem. It's interesting to see he's clinging on to the back of the front runners though, despite being a lap down.

Not to p155 on your bonfire Pap, but there isn't really much of a climax to that track - it just kind of peters out at the end.

This. We can only hope it rains again at some point tomorrow to mix things up a bit.
-
Rain coming down now, half way through Q2. Looks like Paul Di Resta is going to miss out on Q3 as a result - everyone else got a lap time in beforehand.

The new Bonobo album - released yesterday. I was eagerly anticipating this release but having listened to it all the way through twice now, I'm sorry to say it is very disappointing compared to his previous work.

Owen retiring? Makes me feel old! It doesn't seem like that long ago he was being hyped as the future of English football. Was 'that' goal really 15 years ago!?!?

Guly is not, and never will be, a PL standard player. Sometimes he tries hard; sometimes he can't be ar$ed. His first touch is lacking and his passing is often wayward and ineffective. I will not be the least bit surprised or disappointed if he is offloaded in the summer. Given Cortese's obvious ambition, it's clear he has no future in our first team and we already have better options for the bench.

Yeah because Iraq is a much safer place for all of its citizens now isn't it. Oh, hang on... no it isn't. He may have been a deluded nutter who loved to antagonise the west, but given the sectarian war that has claimed so many lives since his removal, it's hard to argue against his claim that "The only way to rule Iraq is with an iron fist." Saddam was no threat to us. He was, however, a threat to America's economic strategy of printing worthless dollars to buy oil from the middle east, because he decided he wanted to be paid in Euros instead.

From page 50/51 of that document.... Exactly one year later, after Bush and his band of neo-cons had taken power, they got their new Pearl Harbor. Coincidence???
-
He's got a very valid point. It was a terribly sloppy goal to concede. two or three times it should have been dealt with before it landed at Coutinho's feet, and when it did we had 4 or 5 players in the box ball-watching and not picking him up.

How about a system such as in Tennis, where each player has a set amount of challenges. Lets say each team is given three challenges, and if a player/team thinks the ref has got something wrong or missed something completely, the captain can approach the ref and use one of their allotted challenges. 20-second break while the fourth official checks the TV replays and on we go. It would be a much shorter stoppage than if the whole team goes mental and surrounds the ref, resulting in him dishing out some yellow cards. Although I guess that's part of the drama isn't it.
-
If the ref didn't see that then he is simply unfit to be a referee. End of. That could have ended Haidara's career. The FA need to haul him in over that and suspend him.

I disagree. Hooiveld was injured so Fonte was the obvious replacement. Davis for Ramirez was the right sub at the right time as Liverpool looked like getting more of a grip of the game in midfield. The only one I will grant you is Do Prado coming on for Lallala, who had to go off because he was knackered. The only contributions I saw from Guly were to stand by and let a Liverpool player drift past him into our penalty area with ease, and to fall over and give the ball away when we had an excellent opportunity to break following a Liverpool attack. Two out of three ain't bad.
-
I have been critical of him so far this season, in particular his poor delivery from set-pieces which has been a massive weak-point, but I thought he had his best game in a Saints shirt yesterday. And the fact that he was subbed on 56 minutes is no reflection on his ability or his stamina - it was a purely tactical decision from the manager, in response to Liverpool bringing on Lucas, to shore up the midfield and prevent Liverpool gaining a foothold in the game... and it worked.
-
No. We beat them just before and then followed up with two successive defeats to Newcastle and QPR immediately afterwards. Happens every time with Saints for some reason.
-
We looked a bit nervy after the break and were letting Liverpool have a bit more possession in midfield than in the first half. Gaston didn't look exhausted or injured but I reckon MP brought Davis on to shore things up a little and stop Liverpool from getting a foothold in the game. It worked too - we looked a lot more composed with Davis in the team.

I just hope their cup run will be a distraction for them. If they win their two games in hand our safety cushion is only 1 point.
