Looks like we've settled down now after an untidy first 10 minutes.

Daily Mail in sensationalising football manager's quote shocker. If you read the quote, all he actually says is "‘I think you should be respectful, You have to be ruthless as a manager when it comes to picking teams. If you’re not winning, you won’t be in a job. That’s where the ruthlessness comes from". It was clear from his post-match interview after the Coventry game at the end of last season that he knew Cortese was looking to replace him. He could have looked for another job or walked in the summer, but he stuck around and waited to be sacked instead.

I like my ales - current favourite that seems to be appearing in more and more pubs is Doom Bar from Cornwall. In summer I like a nice crisp cider as long as it isn't mass-produced, chemical-filled p*sswater like Strongbow or Magners I enjoy red wine but it gives me a headache so can't drink too much of it. Not really big on spirits but I do like making liqueurs with whatever fruits I can forage locally. As well as the yearly batch of sloe gin, last year I made some damson & blackberry vodka which turned out really well.

Mick Philpott gets a life sentence... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-derbyshire-22023117 I doubt he will last 6 months inside. -

The Mrs and me watched the documentary lastnight. I'm just astounded that anybody could be so callous and show such little regard for the lives of their own children. The poor kids obviously didn't stand a chance of any kind of normal upbringing with these people as parents. -
Not only that, Terry realised he wasn't going to get up and win it ahead of Lambert so he grabbed hold of his legs and held him down. How in god's name is that not a foul?
-
It was actually a handball.

Everton winning 1-0!

I don't know if I can watch any more. I'm definitely going to have to change my underwear after this!!!!

Fox coming on. Uh-oh!

Can't work out why we are sitting so deep all of a sudden. It really is asking for trouble.

Wigan 1-0 up

We're really on the back foot now. Gonna have to ride out a storm to get the three points here.
-
Lucky. Could have been a penalty.
-
Ooooh J-Rod. Touch let him down otherwise he would have been in!
-
I really can't work out how hugging your opponent to stop him getting up and playing the ball is not classed as a foul!
-
Superb save from Kelv!

This is a really promising start. Come on Saints!

http://www.wiziwig.tv/broadcast.php?matchid=191219&part=sports 18 stations showing it apparently, meaning there will be some good quality non-flash based ones.

Cheers for that Pugwash. I'll search for those when I have time.

I believe her mum is from Southampton, but she isn't really a fan. We'll claim that one though I reckon

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-21973505 Sad news - "Monty you terrible c**t!" I was surprised to read he was 65 when he died. That means he would still have been in his thirties when Withnail & I was made, and he looked a lot older in it.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/21967790 Webber and Vettel row has been 'settled'. In other news, Pope admits to being Jewish and pigs to be given formal air traffic control training.

Right, I've had enough of my DVD collection taking up space and looking untidy, so I want to rip them all and store them on my USB drive so I can get rid of the discs. Can anybody recommend a good ripping application that will allow this? I've searched online and can't seem to find any that don't charge an absolute fortune for the licence to rip protected DVDs.
