For me it was no surprise that our performances drastically improved when Davis replaced Gaston at United and at Wigan. Ramirez is far too much of a luxury and he clearly doesn't fit in with our new style of play under MP. He is far too predictable and easy to defend against, and more often than not expects to waltz past defenders which invariably ends up giving away possession. Davis has been the key in the last few games for me: the missing piece of the puzzle if you like. Barring injuries, it's really hard to see how Gaston will reclaim a place in the starting 11.

Seeing as they have Man Utd next week and Reading are playing Wigan at home, they could easily be 9 points adrift of safety by the time we play them. Given their remaining fixtures, it's hard to see how they could possibly claw that back.

Agree he was very good at mopping up and made some crucial interceptions. But he is still too panicky in playing the ball out of defence and gives it straight back to the oppo on too many occasions for my liking. It doesn't really fit with the style of the rest of the team either. I realise that there are times when "If in doubt, get it out" is appropriate, but a few times last night he played some very hurried long punts upfield to nobody when he had time and space to pick out a red shirt instead. That's why I think he will be dropped as soon as Forren is fit.

I think he is the most consisten player in our squad and just keeps getting better and better. Vary unusual for him to have a bad game and he more often than not puts in MOTM performances. I think he is already a clear favourite for player of the season.

Was it these two by any chance?... Cos I'm sure they used to sit behind me when I had a ST a few years ago.

Yeah that was my thoughts as well. You could see he delayed while he decided what to give, knowing full-well that awarding a goal kick would have probably caused a riot.

I wish he would learn to shoot though!

Fully deserved. Played like we did in the 2nd half at OT and got the reward this time. I'm in dreamland! Can't see us getting relegated now. Not the way we have been playing recently.

I'm all in favour of making the assessment of education more stringent, but Gove's plan was never the appropriate solution, and I'm glad the govt have listened to the teaching unions on the matter.

And if we end up in the Championship as a result of his failure to settle, will he stay? I seriously doubt it. That's why I and many other are calling into question the logic of his signing. We needed players who would graft and do the job of keeping us up in the summer, not expensive luxury players who would take an entire season to settle into the PL.
