First half was a bit nervy but we were so dominant in the second half. We look anything but a relegation-threatened side at the moment. J-Rod my MOTM, closely followed by Davis who had a very good game but wasted a glorious chance to put us 2-0 up early in the second half. Great to see AL come on and get a goal, it was an obvious sub because Gaston was so poor today. We look like such a better team when he isn't playing. One more win will see us mathematically safe I reckon. Can't see Villa getting a win away at Stoke today so hopefully the 7-point gap will be maintained. There are far worse teams below us now so only a spectacular collapse in form over the last 6 games will see us down.

Nothing major really. That tackle from Jos was never a penalty. Looking at the replay it does look like that ball didn't go completely over the line as well.

Not much. Davis had a good chance after being put through by Rickie but hit it straight at the keeper, and Lambert almost got on the end of a low cross from J-Rod. Other than that, not a great deal to report.

I'm not scapegoating anybody here but Gaston has been utter gash so far today. Put us in trouble at the back a couple of times with some wayward passing and completely ineffectual up front. That giveaway just now was pathetic from a decent position. Need to get him off and bring on Lallana I reckon.

Daily Mail in sensationalising football manager's quote shocker. If you read the quote, all he actually says is "‘I think you should be respectful, You have to be ruthless as a manager when it comes to picking teams. If you’re not winning, you won’t be in a job. That’s where the ruthlessness comes from". It was clear from his post-match interview after the Coventry game at the end of last season that he knew Cortese was looking to replace him. He could have looked for another job or walked in the summer, but he stuck around and waited to be sacked instead.

I like my ales - current favourite that seems to be appearing in more and more pubs is Doom Bar from Cornwall. In summer I like a nice crisp cider as long as it isn't mass-produced, chemical-filled p*sswater like Strongbow or Magners I enjoy red wine but it gives me a headache so can't drink too much of it. Not really big on spirits but I do like making liqueurs with whatever fruits I can forage locally. As well as the yearly batch of sloe gin, last year I made some damson & blackberry vodka which turned out really well.

The Mrs and me watched the documentary lastnight. I'm just astounded that anybody could be so callous and show such little regard for the lives of their own children. The poor kids obviously didn't stand a chance of any kind of normal upbringing with these people as parents.

Not only that, Terry realised he wasn't going to get up and win it ahead of Lambert so he grabbed hold of his legs and held him down. How in god's name is that not a foul?
