  1. It still wouldn't technically be a trilogy though as they would just be three separate stories involving the same characters rather than three parts of the same story.
  2. OK, some pretty fair points you have raised Stu so allow me to respond... 1. It's not exactly a holiday. It's a 5-day trek across some pretty rough terrain on the Andes and it's going to be bloody hard work. I am going to have to do a fair bit of fitness training between now and then because I know I am not in anything like good enough shape to do it as of now. 2. As I already said, I fully intend to put more money into it myself once I get my redundancy payout at the end of this month. At this time I don't know how much I am going to get so I can't say how much I am going to put in. 3. I can't pay for the whole thing myself because, to be honest, I just can't afford to. I came across this opportunity in a magazine and realised it would be a fantastic way to achieve something I have long wanted to do, but never thought I would get the chance to, and to raise some money for a very worth charity in the process. And yes Delldays, you make a fair point. I actually paid my registration fee and committed to this before I knew I was going to be made redundant. Like I said, it's not really a 'jolly-up' as you call it, and I fully expect to be back in full-time employment very soon. Between now and May, my GF and me are going to be organising some local fundraising events. What form these will take I am not certain yet, but I will be getting advice from the organisers of the event on this. I will post details of them on here once they are confirmed. If anyone else has any questions about this I will be happy to answer them.
  3. You have a PM
  4. Yeah, good point Baj. I've had to pay a registration fee of £199 and I will also have to pay for all local airport taxes etc. I'm also going to put some more money in out of my redundancy payout when I get it at the end of the month. Normally it would cost £1440 for the whole package if I was to do it privately (flights, transfers, trek guides etc...) so Global Adventures (http://www.globaladv.org/), who are organising the trip, have set each participant a target of £2880 (double that amount) to be raised with most of that going to the charity and the rest to cover the unavoidable costs. I've rounded that figure up and set my own target of £3000.
  5. Hi all. Next May I will be undertaking a charity trek across the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. It's something I have always wanted to do and is dependent on me raising a certain amount for the Blue Cross appeal. The Blue Cross is the UK's national pet charity and specialises in rehoming unwanted pets and providing care for animals whose owners are unable to afford private veterinary care. If anyone wants to make a donation to help me reach my target I would be very appreciative. You'll be making a valuable contribution to the Blue Cross, and helping a fellow saints fan achieve something I have always wanted to do. Please visit my fundraising page and make a donation... http://www.justgiving.com/rolandsmith Thanks.
  6. I got made redundant last week. My GF said to me "Don't worry, it's not the end of the world" Looks like she could have been horribly wrong.
  7. Trek the Inca Trail (which I'm finally getting to do next year )
  8. In simple terms, yes.
  9. I read a very interesting piece in the Guardian last week... http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2008/sep/04/sarahpalin.johnmccain Kind of explains how a man so obviously retarded as GWB can become the US President ion the first place.
  10. what - they're all sh1te?
  11. Sean Pertwee - his son?
  12. From the article in the link... Translation...
  13. In other words, they intend to gag him somehow. Can't see the Ferrari team allowing Kimi to testify somehow, although my faith in the sport will be restored if he does. Just goes to show that there is still a small modicum of sportsmanship left in F1.
  14. Yeah but then they ruined it by making 4,5,6,7,8,9 and 10 (I think!)
  15. Now that doesn't surprise me in the slightest. Ferrari are the F1 equivalent of John Macenroe when it comes to complaining about official decisions. They are the most unsporting ****ers F1 has ever seen and I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out they were behind this decision. What's even less surprising is that the FIA obliged them. Is there some law in the F1 rulebook that the FIA must uphold any complaint if it is made from an italian team with a red car?
  16. When you consider how sh1te Terminator 3 was compared to the first two, I beg to differ.
  17. WTF!?!? The article says that she is still paying £60 a week in storage costs for all his stuff. What exactly has he sued her for then? What has she done wrong?
  18. You've only just noticed this???
  19. Utter, utter b0ll0cks. The FIA are a fvcking joke. Do they really take every F1 fan for that stupid - it's such an obvious fix. I ask you, how can Hamilton have possibly gained an advantage from the extra momentum when he slowed down enough to come round the back of Raikonnen's car and overtake him on the opposite side? I'm not even Hamilton's biggest fan, but I have total sympathy for him in this situation and I want to see him win the title just to say a big "fvck you" to the FIA.
  20. Anybody could see that Hamilton slowed down to allow Kimi to retake the lead, hence he couldn't possibly carry any additional momentum down the pit straight. He then came round the back of Kimi's car and overtook him on the opposite side. If the FIA rule this one in Ferrari's favour and give the race to Massa, I swear I will never watch F1 ever again. This bias towards Ferrari is cringeworthy.
  21. Oh great. Yet another case of "Let's wring every last dollar out of a franchise as possible" Why is nothing sacred any more? Why can't they just leave things alone? I suppose the producers don't even care if it turns out to be **** because there is a whole new generation of kids to sell merchandise to so they will still make a few million out of it. But then this is Hollywood we are talking about, so a little bit of artistic integrity is too much to ask for. Shame.
  22. Loltastic!
  23. No such thing as a 'best film of all time' - it's totally subjective. While I agree that Shawshank is an excellent film, and I appreciate why it has global appeal, I couldn't go so far as to say it's the best ever. I couldn't even say it is my personal favourite; no film can claim that title as there are so many films that I like for completely different reasons that I couldn't possibly place one above the other. It would have to be a 'top ten in no particular order'.
  24. With all due respect to Stephen Hawking - how the fvck does he know what will happen when they switch this thing on. Has he ever created black holes before? I think not. Seems to me there are too many unknown unknowns in this situation. It's all very well trying to understand how the world was created, but it will all be pointless if they end up destroying it in the process.
  25. Went to see Somers Town with my GF last night. Shane Meadows' latest film. Quite enjoyable actually, very light-hearted story about a young lad (Tomo Turgoose) on the run and living rough in London who strikes up an unlikely friendship with a Polish lad who has come to England with his dad. It works in a kind of 'odd couple' way though there isn't much of a story to it. I'm glad I gave it a chance really. I didn't enjoy This is England, but I did like Dead Man's Shoes so I find Meadows a bit hit and miss. This one is erring on the side of 'hit' - 3.5/5
