I'm glad Lewis won the title just to stick it to the FIA who tried their hardest to make sure he didn't, and to shut the spanish racists up as well. I can't help but feel a little bit sorry for Massa though. Judging by the celebrations in the Ferrari pit, they must have told him over the radio that he had nailed it without realising that Lewis had passed Glock. He's a very affable guy and was exremely dignified on the podium and in the press conference.

I think that the complaints commission should only take it seriously if both Sachs and his granddaughter make a complaint. Other than that, I can't understand why the public feel the need to be offended on their behalf, and quite how much publicity the whole thing is getting. The only problem I have got with it is that it was supposed to be entertainment but is probably one of the least funny things I have ever heard. Ross used to be quite funny (on the radio anyway) but for the life of me I cannot understand how Russell Bland got a job on Radio 2 when his 'humour' (I use the term loosely) would be far more suited to CBeebies. It would be more like his intellectual level.

That's a great read and I'm sure you won't be disappointed. It almost reads like fiction due to the lengths they had to go to just to get the Vulcans and Victors operational, let alone the planning for that one mission. Truly one of the British Forces' greatest ever achievements.

Surely if you mixed them together and posted the entire MP3 file in fairly low quality on something like Zshare or Yousendit for live streaming, then there wouldn't be any legal issues with that would there?

Alonso said after the race that he agreed that Hamilton deserved the penalty, and then went on to tell a spanish newspaper that he didn't know what the penalty was for. That last bit of his quote, however you translate it, is irelevant. He's a **** of the highest order.

Surely if you have already made payment and it has gone through their system then they are obliged to honour it? Just a guess.

I missed the race yesterday and only caught the highlights tonight. The burning question I have is how long do the FIA think they can carry on supporting Ferrari like this and still maintain their credibility? It's embarassing. I thought what Bourdais said in a post-race interview was spot on. When asked if there was anything more he could have done, he replied "I could have rolled out the red carpet and said there you go, have the position". He did absolutely nothing wrong, and I fail to see what else he could have done. Also, why the hell didn't Massa get a penalty for putting all four wheels over the white line of the pit-lane exit when he overtook Webber? Surely to god that has to be illegal doesn't it? I'm not even going to comment on Hamilton getting a penalty for that first corner incident. Maybe he deserved it and maybe he didn't, but I just want to see him win the title now just so that he can flick a big middle finger to the FIA who seem to be doing everything in their power to stop him winning it. If I were him I would be saying "Is it cos I is black?"

I'll take your word on that. I found the DVD for a fiver in the HMV sale so I'll look forward to watching it sometime. Went to the cinema to see that and I thought it was superb. Well recommended.

The thing about ouija boards is that they imply that spirits of dead people are able to physically affect glasses or other such things that can be pushed around the board. If this is the case, surely they would then be able to move other physical objects as well? And if so, why doesn't the spirit of Ted Bates use this power to re-direct all of Saints' off-target shots so they go in?

Porno - the follow-up to Trainspotting - is also a very good read. I love Irvine Welsh's work even though his writing style is hard to understand at first. I find myself imagining the characters speaking in that Edinburgh accent and actually hearing it in my mind, and I find it really helps. I'm currently reading Contact by Carl Sagan after it was recommended to me by someone. Really enjoying it so far - it is very well written and researched. I had been meaning to watch the film for many years but I'm glad I didn't get round to it now because it means I can enjoy the book without knowing what happens. I'll probably make a point of watching it after I finish the book though - just to see how the producers interpreted it.

I watched a bit of that yesterday - brought back a lot of memories. I used to have a Maximillian toy when I was about 7 and I loved it. Lastnight my GF and me sat and watched Jacob's Ladder, which I remember watching when I was about 17. What a superb film.

Well then why does it state at the beginning of the film that it is based on actual events, and that the names have been changed out of respect for those who died? :confused:

Fargo. Finally got round to watching it last night after meaning to for many many years. I thought it was every bit as good as it is regarded to be. I often find with films that are based on true stories (as this one was) that the storyline itself can be somewhat lacking, so it is very important for the producers to focus on the fine detail, the atmosphere and setting of the film, and most importantly the interaction and the dialogue between the main characters, and this is what the Coen brothers do so brilliantly.

Just imagine being Ian Blair in that meeting whit Boris Johnson telling you that he felt it was time for change in the Met Police. How could you possibly take him seriously? He must be absolutely gutted to have been done out of a job by a complete moron.

The fact that he has been representing the UK's interests in europe for the last couple of years is scary enough. Now he is going to be Business Secretary FFS! GB must surely know what the general opinion of Mandelson is. He has been sacked or 'forced to resign' from the cabinet not once but twice in the past. Brown should write a book called How To Lose an election in Three Easy Steps.

I think so, but I'm guessing that it won't work because the OS that is installed is XP Pro and the new copy she has bought is XP home edition.

A friend of mine has a second hand PC with an unlicensed copy of windows XP professional, which she seems to be having trouble with, so she has bought a genuine copy of Windows XP home edition so that she can validate the product and get full support from Microsoft. The question is, is it possible to 'upgrade' the OS she already has to this one, or will she need to format the HD and re-install the OS using the genuine copy she has bought? Any advice gratefully received.

Just watched Pan's Labyrinth again on C4, although I've seen it a few times. I love this film so much. Sheer fairy-tale fantasy contrasted with some brutal violence, with a heart-breaking bittersweet ending. So brilliantly produced and acted and visually stunning from start to finish. Probably my fave foreign film of all time.

BTW - as much as I dislike him, I've got to hand it to Alonso. He drove the pants off that Renault today and fully deserved his win.
