So if I sign this acceptance, will that prevent me from being able to make a complaint to a tribunal?

Thanks Jill and Exit2. Some useful information there. I'm going in for my meeting with the MD in about 20 mins and I'm not sure how to handle this. I can either make it clear to him that I'm not satisfied that the correct procedure has been followed and demand that an independent review be carried out before I agree to anything, or I can just accept it (I know there is no chance of saving my job either way) and then make a complaint to an employment tribunal afterwards. What would you guys do?

I hope someone on here can help me, I know there are a few experts on employment law on here. I've had a look on the ACAS website but it's unclear. I have been told I am being made redundant at work and I am due to have a meeting with my MD tomorrow when I will be formally notified of redundancy. But I'm not convinced the correct procedure has been followed. I am one of two people in the department who both have identical job titles, and I have been told that the company has completed a skills matrix and based on the fact that I earn significantly more than the other guy who is a lot younger and less experienced than I am, that I have been selected for redundancy. There has been an informal (ie - not notified in writing at all) consultation period of about a week, the result of this is that the company has not been able to come up with any ways of remedying the situation and they intend to press ahead with the proposed redundancy (me). Now, I was in a similar situation once before and my question is this... Should the company have also notified the other guy in the department that one of us was to be made redundant and then invited us both to apply for the one remaining position? Also, should I have received written notice of the consultation period and the proposed selection process? Any advice gratefully received.

I went to see Portishead in Manchester back in april but I ended up having to pay double because the official ticket outlets had all sold out but lo and behold, within a few hours they are being advertised on Seatwave for twice their face value.

Yeah saw it at Sheffield Arena last december. Simply awesome. Anyway, back on topic - it's entirely feasible that there was a civilisation on Mars sometime in its history. The climate will have changed drastically over the course of its existence just like ours has, only Earth's atmosphere changed and evolved to a point where it was able to support life. It's entirely possible that Mars once had a climate that was capable of supporting life but doesn't any more.

That was my reaction to it. I believe I asked my GF and her housemate if we could watch something 'fluffy' to lift my spirits again before bed.

Anybody seen this film? I watched it last night and I feel like I need some trauma counselling! I loved it, but it's a seriously disturbing film. Some of the cinematography is incredible and the sequence where the mum goes into a psychosis in her living room is absolutely superb. Highly recommended, but with a warning attached - this film is NOT easy watching.

Using Nero, all you need to do is highlight every track, select properties and then change the pause between tracks value from 2 to 0. I do this all the time because I record my own DJ mixes then burn them to disc using this method.

Maybe it's been lost in translation, but that sounds like the insane ramblings of a crazed dictator to me.

Currently trying to get through Fear And Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S Thompson. Quite enjoying it but it isn't an easy read.
