  1. The term 'God Particle' is pretty misleading. My physics studying friends become annoyed by it because it sends out the wrong idea about what it is. All the higgs boson is is the last jigsaw piece in the standard model. There's a huge amount of work and equations put into the standard model and it only makes sense(gives the right answer if you like) if something which does the work of the higgs boson or indeed the higgs boson itself exists. What they have announced they have discovered today is just something at the same measurements as was predicted. One massive step forward. - I think!
  2. Faster than light travel is impossible, according to Einstein anyways! And his theory has held up to all the tests so far.
  3. What absolute rubbish. While I can't pretend to be an expert in particle physics, maybe you should go do a little reading on the basics or even better go look into the vast amount of evidence and data to back this all up. And maybe then look into what we have done with the knowledge we have found out because of science. It's makes me laugh how people sit there on their transistor based machines and say science is a load of rubbish.
  4. Lots has been said so far about how this could damage morale or how this is a symbol of some decline. But we only have a certain pot of money and something has to go unfortunately. So why is it so strategically bad to get rid of these particular bits of the army as opposed to another part? Honest question there, as I am generally uneducated in the army. Surely it's best to keep as strong overall as possible rather than keeping things because they symbolise the might of a past era. Modernisation is the way.
  5. Murray has brushed aside Cillic. Won't be so easy tomorrow in the quarter finals though.

I know you aren't. Shall we get back to the point of the thread? What's your attire then Dune?

Your insults as ever, cut deep.

Closer, but not quite. You'll never guess the name of the degree anyway, it's not very common!

I'm not studying politics at all actually. I'm more science based. Guess again! Though I did manage to meet Nick Clegg the other day which was fun.

I'm sure it is. In the same vein as this -http://www.criminaldamage.co.uk/images/P/p-16384-273.jpg but not that colour.

Believe it or not I manage to do the same minus the 'going through as many birds as I could' due to my steady girlfriend. Primark is only temporary though, before the real work starts in October with uni.
  13. What is going on with this?! Nothing has been said for days. How long can it drag on for?

Believe it or not, I don't own many checkered shirts at all. I have one from criminal damage which I got from TK Maxx, but that's more of a hoody/shirt.

Not even remotely. Which one were you then, in your illustrious youth?

I know I said it on an earlier post. However, I'm hardly going to reveal my exact location on a public message board. Keep on guessing!

Why would I work in a Primark when I live in a little village in the country in a middle class paradise which I never leave, as I remember you arguing!

I hate Hollister and Jack Wills and Superdry or anything like that which insists having the name of the shop plastered in large lettering over everything.

And I can assure you that 'Indie Scruffy Students' or whatever do not shop in Next!

Yes, I was referring to that if that's what you want to call it. Albeit a bit sarcastic , because in the 'you probably haven't heard of them', he reminded me of some people!

I wouldn't say it is one of my favourites, but it's clothes have increased in quality. I know that because I work there. Zara is very good, everything I have bought from Zara lasts.

You're so indie. I sometimes shop that way too. Don't see the point of loyalty to one brand or shop. Might as well look around.

I buy my clothes from a wide range of places, including sometimes Primark(who are good for basic stuff more often than not). Where do you shop?
