  1. Cancelled mine a few months back. There will be plenty of coverage in the Prem and tbh the service was often rubbish. And pretty sure they promised us upgrades last year which never came.
  2. Excellent, so we bought someone with a view to improve and gradually replace Kelvin over the next year or two. Great decision for the future and for team harmony.
  3. That's true, but it makes it a lot harder to do so if guns are hard to get hold of. And I imagine the planning stage is easier to get through as well because you don't have to conceal the fact you are buying/owning guns. Also, a lot of shootings in the US are just went people snap. And sometimes people do just snap and a person which just loses it one day with a gun compared to someone without a gun makes a lot of difference. The event in the US is absolutely awful.
  4. Rubbish, just half an hour earlier he tried to get out and the police said no. Did it not occur to you in your wisdom that perhaps he was hanging back closer to the police line because he didn't want to walk into the riots after getting caught up in it. I have seen this before. At one of the student protests, an old man who clearly was not at the protest had been caught up in the kettle and asked to get out saying he had a heart problem. Obviously, I don't know if that is true or not, but the fact remains he would hardly be a cause for danger outside the kettle. Suffice to say, they turned down his request and when they decided to make the kettle even smaller they pushed him along unnecessarily causing a lot of anger in the crowd.
  5. Acceptable, yes, but only when circumstance deems it so. I would have sympathy with the police officer if Mr. Tolminson was actually rioting/posing any threat whatsoever at all. He was just an innocent trying to get home from work who(and it can happen easily in these circumstances, have seen it myself on student protests) got caught up in a kettle.
  6. Don't turn it on or charge it or do anything with it. Just put it in an airing cupboard for a week or two. If all the water is not gone before you use it, it could break properly somewhere down the line. Has worked for me in the past. Though I also hair-dried it for a couple of minutes instantly afterwards.
  7. I largely agree with you, but I still disagree with the verdict. I can't agree with the indifference you show towards it.
  8. I did laugh at this
  9. The CPS said it was unlawful. http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2012/jul/19/simon-harwood-disciplinary-proceedings - seems this losing of his cool isn't a one off thing.
  10. The law has already said it was an unlawful killing. And not at all, I want a fair verdict that is consistent. And please do not act like I am some anti-authority rebel or something. I have the up most admiration for the police, and fully support them nearly all the time, but I also keep an open mind when individuals make a bad decision. You can't as a police officer, lose your cool like he did.
  11. Maybe if Ian Tolminson was actually rioting, your point might be valid. But he was an innocent bystander with his back turned. Police need to be able to not lose their heads in situations like this. It's a disgraceful verdict and I hope his family can get justice soon.
  12. We'll buy a keeper. I suspect it's a priority. The question is though, do you get in someone who is premier standard and proven who will come not to bench warm and so it'll be Kelvin demoted or do you get in some young and upcoming keeper to replace him gradually over the next year or two. I think it may be the former and I suspect by the end of the season we'll have a different number 1. Could be wrong mind.
  13. In fairness to right wingers, I don't think there are many who advocate privatisation proper of the police and army/security. Do that and you are basically an Anarchist.
  14. Cameron really isn't that daring or rigid in his decision making. Osborne will still be in his job. The fuss if he wasn't would be massive.
  15. Most buffet restaurants I've been to are alright if you want to stuff your face with 3 plates piled high, but if you want decent food it's better to go elsewhere and pay the same price for a decent sized and quality meal. Then again, with a group of mates they usually aren't that bad. Nando's is a safe bet for anything.
  16. Is it actually confirmed anywhere official?
  17. That's fair enough then. Obviously, I have sympathies with those who have had to cancel leave because of the incompetence of G4S.
  18. So would you agree that there are just some things the private sector just shouldn't do?
  19. I don't know why we had a private company to do it in the first place. For something as important as security at an event as large as the games, just let the police do it and have the army back them up if necessary from the beginning. Tbh, the times I have had personal contact with G4S security haven't been great. They seem to have some very good guards, but also some not so good ones. I don't really see the fuss about the army coming in though. Surely it's not as if they are being inconvenienced massively because being in the army is a full time job and if they weren't helping with security at the games, they'd be doing something else.
  20. Not that at all. Where is there any evidence whatsoever that aliens crash landed on our planet... 'hence the Adam and Eve story'.
  21. Hollande was seen as a bit of a geek supposedly and he is President of France now, so anything can happen.
  22. I think against some teams next year a defensive style of play may be better due to the gulf in glass. And then try and get them on the counter.
  23. 24 is alright. It's over 25 which you need to worry about. Though BMI isn't always the greatest way to show whether someone is a decent weight or not. For example, if you are quite muscular, it can show you as overweight when you are fine.
  24. I have to say, the whole web that money and debt creates is extremely complex in the modern world. Someone has borrowed money from an institution which has borrowed money or has 'money' locked up in assets, and then that bank or institution has borrowed money from another place and so on and so on. Makes you wonder how much money actually exists and how much is just debt.
