  1. Not at all, you said he is a loser if he doesn't win a grand slam. But he isn't, because he has won a lot. It's like saying every team in the premiership are losers except Man City.
  2. True, an advantage of the 1 year shirt system. Hopefully sales will be sluggish and they will get the hint. I really don't see why we have to 'reinvent ourselves' or whatever for a 'new era' in the premiership. We are Southampton, we should just be in red and white stripes.
  3. The Centenary kit kind of made sense and looked nice and still said Southampton in a a nice sort of way. There was white, with a red stripe/sash(though I still prefer the red and white stripe normal kit)... but this is just a monstrosity. It just looks like a block of red and a block of white.
  4. That's absolutely ridiculous. He has to win 5 matches to get to the grand slam semi, and 6 when he gets to the final which he has 3 times. He has won 22 titles in his career, and 8 prestigious masters titles. He is 10th on the all time earners list as well with over $20,000,000 prize money. You can not classify a tennis player of Murray's calibre as a 'loser'.
  5. I wouldn't have bought it whatever. A kit a year is a bit much when each one is 40 odd quid.
  6. It's horrific. We are Southampton. We play in red and white stripes. What do they think they are doing?
  7. Time is running out now. He is at the age now where for 2 or 3 years he will play his best tennis. But once you hit 30, it gets very hard.
  8. I wouldn't say loser, but incapable of winning the biggest tournaments. He has won a lot in his time and been to slam finals before.
  9. You're right. He isn't a great, but he is an amazing player. And TDD, you're also right. I will be disappointed if he doesn't make the final now. He is clearly capable of it, though his match with Tsonga(getting ahead of myself) will be tough and close.
  10. That may be true, but I was saying hypothetically if he played like he does today then.
  11. He is an amazing player, the best we have produced. You are right though that he is one small notch below Nadal and Djokovic at slam level, and Federer in his prime. Elsewhere he matches them easily. It's the 5 setters in a grand slam environment where he can't quite beat 2 of the big three in a row, like the others manage.
  12. If England had got to the final of Euro 2012 or the World Cup, everyone would be raving.
  13. If he had been playing 10 years ago when the likes of Hewitt won a slam, he would have won 1 or 2. He is an amazing player, just not as you point out, the best.
  14. That is very true. But his achievements to date of 3 grand slam finals and however many semi finals(I've lost count) is a very good achievement. He is an amazing player. And he is laughing all the way to the bank either way.
  15. You may be right, but it won't be choking. If it gets to the semi finals, it is a great achievement for any player. Tsonga would be just as tough in the semis if he gets there. He has a long way to go first and would probably have to get through Roddick or Ferrer in the quarters and Cillic in the 4th.
  16. Nadal out. Wow. Biggest shock ever.
  17. Probably, although he has shown he can beat Nadal in the past(albeit on hard courts en route to US open finals and in other smaller tournaments). We shall see, I suspect you are right, and even if he does get there, it is a massive achievement in this era.
  18. Tough match there for Murray as predicted against the big server Karlovic. Came through as well as can be expected. On to round 3.
  19. He also argued though, that their continued spending for one extra year would have allowed the recovery to last a bit longer(as it did in the US) and then start the cuts. All they are really arguing over is a 1 year delay in cuts, and then 1/8th extra between the tories and labour. Whether it would have made much difference, I don't know. It did for the US, but then their economy is very different to ours.
  20. That doesn't really tell us anything though because political membership is defunct in young people. They just like on Facebook instead. Tbh, most aren't that politically engaged anyway, but seem to have a broad distrust of the conservative party, and now to a large extent the Liberal Democrats as well which only really leaves Labour or the Greens.
  21. Since when have young people ever voted Conservative? That's an actual question too, if anyone has the stats. A conservative supporter my age is a bit of a rarity.
  22. Maybe they were doing it to test the waters with her to see if she could take the heat. Or maybe anyone would have been annihilated over this(Maria Miller struggled earlier on Daily Politics though did better), because it is clearly a panic move/u-turn and populist. And they still haven't worked out how they are going to pay for it! I'm not saying whether I agree with it or not here, just saying their economic case so far is weak.
  23. Watson through to the 3rd.
  24. As was just said, they are all as bad as each other, suing and counter-suing nonstop. And I swear some of the patents they sue over are just ridiculous. Though tbh, I think getting the S3 banned would backfire on Apple and vice-versa for the iPhone.
  25. Chloe Smith got wheeled out twice yesterday to Newsnight and Channel 4 news. She was absolutely destroyed. It was awful to watch.
