  1. I guess that's the fear, but if we haven't sent him to the US, why can Sweden suddenly send him over there. I don't know the ins and outs of British-Swedish-American extradition treaties so this is an honest question.
  2. Can we beat Spain and Germany?
  3. Lampard and Gerrard playing together doesn't work. They are the same player.
  4. Wikileaks was great, but then it just became about him and overtly political. Very disappointed in him. He should just go to Sweden and stand trial, it's hardly a country with a reputation for unfair justice.
  5. The issues of scale doesn't matter. It's no good saying, well if the US doesn't do it, so we won't. What we need to do here is lead by example and show it can be done successfully and then hopefully others will follow us(and they will if we can find a way to get renewables cheaper than fossil fuels - a lot of this is a failure of capitalism which is great in many respects but weak on the urgency needed in this situation). Though, I do agree with you, a global agreement is needed eventually. But we shouldn't just give up because the USA and China aren't on board.
  6. You ignore the science. We all know that the Greenhouse effect which is causing global warming is fact. Some greenhouse effect is very useful, and without it life wouldn't exist on Earth. However, what humans are doing is enhancing the Greenhouse Effect which could cause climate change and warming on a scale much life can't keep up with leading to warring amongst ourselves and a mass extinction.
  7. I am agreeing with you. I know the Earth will be fine long after we are gone, but that doesn't mean we don't damage it as we go down ourselves. And a note to some people who seem to find this an inconvenience, I'd never argue that we need to go and live in electricity free huts or whatever... just some organisational/behavioural change coupled with a massive change in energy source should be sufficient. We just need to start living sustainably. Think of the Earth as spaceship, hurtling through space. It only has finite fuel and once it runs out, that's it and we are screwed.
  8. The Earth is more important than the economy. You can't bail out the earth.
  9. At the moment... 10.6Mb Down 0.7Mb Up Interesting that BT say my speed should be 15.3Mb.
  10. I agree with you on the 50p tax band. They didn't really give it a chance. In the first year, people moved income forward and this year they will move it back so we'll never discover whether it works or not. It was a purely ideological decision, and you are right it does mess up their 'We're all in this together' crap. Like the person above, I think we would disagree on the term 'Benefit slob' and the associated comments. But if the Tories have lost the election... does that mean PM Miliband?!
  11. I was around(for the last few years anyways), been going since St. Mary's opened... but I just don't think he is up for the job!
  12. We bought Lee Sharp for c. £2m and Jay Rod for £7m... plus we already have Lambert and Lee. Where is the place for Barnard... 5th striker?! I doubt he wants to do that and I imagine the club would rather have an academy player at 5th striker.
  13. We have 4 quality strikers now and Lee Barnard isn't good enough for the Premier League. Thank you for the goals though.
  14. I thought it was that the Liebherr family didn't want to see a picture of Markus every week and be reminded of their loss.
  15. Some spyware interferes with scanners like McAffe etc... so you need to kill the process of the virus before scanning.
  16. You need to download rkill - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/ It'll kill the process. Then without restarting your PC do what saint_stevo said and rule malwarebytes anti-malware. If that doesn't work, then try safe-mode.
  17. Absolutely love Radiohead, one of my favourites. Best album for me is toss up between OK Computer and In Rainbows. Reckoner is an incredible song.
  18. It's part of this ridiculous American right-wing culture where anyone left wing of say Thatcher is dubbed a communist and the words 'liberal' and 'intellectual' are dirty. It's ridiculous because Obama is not really that left wing.
  19. I don't oppose the EU in its current form. It's not perfect, but nothing is, especially an institution of that size. I think now is the time for an in/out vote(in a few years time - say once the immediate crisis is over - say 2016) just to settle the argument.
  20. I do not support imperialism. That is what you seem to support half the time though with your fawning over 'the Empire'. I do not support any further integration without a referendum and I fully support an in out referendum. Everything must be done at the will of the people at all times.
  21. I dunno, I think Farage disagreed that it takes away currency independence from country and centralises power in Europe. I'm not aware he ever argued vehemently re: financial arguments. However, as in many European countries, at the time of adopting the Euro it was a popular idea, the arguments he deployed weren't relevant over there even if they were relevant here as obviously prevailing opinion at the time was in favour of the Pound. However, William Hague if I recall correctly ran an election campaign on a promise of staying in the pound and he got stuffed so it can't have been a massive priority for people. I don't think normal people care much about currency beyond whether they can use it to feed their families and live a reasonable standard of living.
  22. That's very simplistic Dune, as always. The Lib Dems like many on here maintained it was a very good idea in principle and they naively assumed that the rules would be kept to. However, the rules were not kept too and so it is lucky we didn't join at the time. Thank you Gordon Brown. It is still a good idea in principle and maybe one day after this crisis it will be done properly. Europe needs to work more together in order to combat the rising challenge of the east. I still maintain as I have said in earlier threads that a lot of the problem isn't necessarily based on the Euro, it is worldwide and bank-based, but also on individual countries who were happy to lend to countries like Greece amounts they clearly couldn't afford.
  23. Even I would go with this. They ignored their own rules.
  24. I'm probably wrong but I didn't think 32 bit windows 7 could run with any more than 4GB of Ram... i.e anything more isn't used. And CCleaner is excellent!
