  1. I am Southampton supporter I really don't care what Brighton do be they very successful or very unsuccessful. I am a Southampton supporter. I support Southampton Football Club all other clubs are just.....well football clubs we occasionally have to play.
  2. All we have to do is score (admittedly this is all from memory) but I think we have only failed to gain a result in one league match in which scored, 2-3 at Carlisle United, all other defeats have been, 'Southampton 0' and the worst we've done is draw....I'm not sure this means anything either!
  3. I noticed that too - we're frikkin' second and have come from quite some way down in the league originally and we have beaten a fair few teams with very good home records in their own grounds.....yet hardly mentioned and not mentioned at all in the promotion race!
  4. OS says Barnard scored to make it 3-3!
  5. Well as a lot of 'Forum Fans' thought 1-1 at Charlton was an awful result, how to they judge a 2-2 draw at Bristol Rovers, who lose for fun, and a 1-1 draw at home to Walsall?
  6. I like your sense of humour my friend. I be here giggling and as a Saints fan for the last 42 years or so that isn't always easy!
  7. It will be interesting to see if our attitude is a fragile as some believe. This is our big chance to make a statement. Will the players wobble and play like they know there is expectation on them? It could be very interesting and hopefully not a sign of how we will play should we only make the play-offs. Ulp, me no like. I get nervous enough midseason in a meaningless fixture!
  8. Yes it is well known the Arsenal chairman at the time stitched a few people, went back on his word and jumped into the top league over others.
  9. I went to that Fulham game as a 15-year old with my brother - loved it.
  10. Sad - that's not sad! I am geniunely STILL ****ed off about the Walsall result. Honestly......
  11. I do all that except this is my real name....
  12. Yes I agree but seeing posts like four of five will do etc. it's plan stupid. I bit like we're going to beat Swindon 8-0.....we've got to get some perspective into it surely?
  13. Feck me there's a lot of over-confident fans on this Forum. Apparently Yeovil Town are only turning up and hoping to keep the score below four. I hope the players don't have the same attitude. Should we win expect a hard fought tough victory and maybe only one goal in it. Seessssh you'd have thunk as fans we'd have learned by now.
  14. But some fans will still criticse me for not scoring two goals....and not keeping the right type of clean sheet.
  15. Forty-one years. That's how many 'we were so unlucky' and 'keep the faith we'll do it' I have heard. It's not so - you create the chances you put the buggers away. Did you see Brighton's result today? Could you see Saints doing that this season? I don't think so. How many of the top six sides have lost at Walsall or at home to Brentford? Okay we won at Colchester and not many do that but we've also lost at Carlisle, frigging Tranmere, at home to Rochdale. I'm just sick of it to be honest. Will we ever go on 'Norwich style' unbeaten run in any division ever? When's our flamin' turn or do I have to wait until I'm about eighty and can hardly see or hear?
  16. The do exactly this in Australian 'soccer'. They call them Major Semi-Finals, Minor Final and then they Major Final with the team who finishes highest placed in the league table playing the least games to get to the Major Final. I can't be arsed to look on the interweb for the format but it is something like that.
  17. Great result today regardless of the opposition or circumstances, mainly because of Tuesday's result. I am still 'negative' though. Tuesday's result has drained all confidence about this current team out of me and everytime we play I fully expect to hear ...Southampton nil....and that is this team that has done that to me no one else.
  18. A win against Oldham would have seen us in the play-offs - instead it was 0-0. That was a pressure game. A win in some of crap away defeats would have done it too. A win against Swindon at home....there are loads of games when we really needed a win and didn't get it.
  19. I seem to remember Guly was '****e' and should be sent back to Italy or Brazil and likewise Papa Wago but that soon changed did it not?...
  20. To be honest everyone is missing the point. It doesn't matter who our current manager is or what our current squad is like - almost without fail at any given point in our history we seem to feck up and our bottle goes. It is a Southampton FC thing - not a manager thing I'm afraid. Just look at our history - the spell after the Second World War really sums up Southampton - and the number of messed up FA Cup semi-final appearances. Is it possible for a team to miss so many penalties and score so many own goals in semi-finals? Only Saints can do this and will continue to do this.
  21. If dannysfc is a young lad then this club will knock all of the optimism and enthusiasm out of him in the next few years. So much disappointment to come.... Try doing if for 41 years (don't even worry about players, coaching staff, manager, owners or the league we're in it's always the frigging same). I see a 2-1 defeat with Saints trailing 2-0 for some time - getting one back and then being that bit just unable to score the second to leave you tearing your hair out. Probably draw 1-1 with Yeovil Town the next game after battering them for eighty minutes or so.
  22. This is definitely a very good point BUT as it stands within the division we aren't a bad team and we had some reasonable and even very good players. There is no excuse for constantly being unable to beat teams away from home in the bottom half of the table. If we don't get promoted this season (I'm beginning that it was all a pipe dream after our poor start to the season) what's gonna happen next season? Are we going to throw money (in League One terms) at more players to get us out of the division? With the way the club is run (as a business) I find this unlikely therefore if we can't make it out of the division within the remaining games we could well be stuck here for some time - we won't pull in 22k or more every week if that happens and then the spiral starts again. I think we might be a pretty average lower league club for quite a few years if we don't get it right this season. Just my opinion and I won't be slitting my wrists or beating people up or crying all the time - but I reserve the right to be depressed about my football club and not let it leak into the other aspects of my life.
  23. Yeah I'm going get really exciting about any new loan signings we might get.....
  24. The saddest thing of all is admitting that the ****-taking Pimpley, Bompey and Gayton fans are right - we really are not that good.
  25. I thought Adkins was a good manager but with this reasonable squad at his disposal and plenty of time to get things working the way he wants I find quite a few recent results unacceptable (particularly as we are now really heading into the really important stage of the season where we just can't afford to drop points). It would be interesting to get his reasons for it. Without the cliche engine switched on of course. Tranmere Rovers, Hartlepool United and Walsall are hardly power-houses at home and we managed one point and no goals against them from a possible nine. Peterborough cannot stop leaking goals yet we threw away a two goal lead twice against them and didn't seem to know how to play the game at 4-2 up. Brentford, Notts County at home - unacceptable. Then we hammer Huddersfield and Oldham and score freely against other teams. If you aren't a Saints fan and look at our resources from finance, fanbase, stadium and players you would say that our current position is really poor. Negative I know but you can blame my views on Southampton FC, they've driven me to these conclusions and no one else. Yes despite it being Thursday night I am still mightly f*cked off about Tuesday night. And for the record the next two games - Colchester 0-0, Yeovil 1-1 - then see the sh*t hit the fan!
