Chris Nicholl - brilliant. I'm titsed off with all this poo-poo and as I have only three posts (and thank goodness for that) I'm off to bed to put in some productive sleeping - which will be more productivity than has been shown on here for several days.

It would be quite good but being Southampton I'm sure we can **** this up before this weekend or we will be the only League One club to appoint a proven and respected top-flight manager and then lose there next game 5-0. I have been a Saints fan for some time so cynicism comes easy to me....
-
He's feckin' Irish - unless you're taking the ****.

Perhaps all the In The Knowers could just say when 'Super Manager' is going to be appointed so that stop my OCD of going between here and the OS and also save me the trouble of flicking through pages and pages and pages of posts that actually give me no clue. Saints are **** and my Sunday morning team lost 2-1 to a last seconds goal to our most bitter rivals and all that after pummelling for most of the game and missing chance after chance....sound familiar? I could do with some 'football' cheering up. Swindon being bottom of the table kept a lot of stick away from me this morning although I, personally, was still held accountable for the 'no-programmes' on Tuesday night, the sacking of Alan Pardew and Saints defence - oh and the Swindon supporters all say it is Alan Shearer who is going to be the next Saints manager. They know as much as I do so it is as accurate.

Adolf Hitler? To be honest no one said it was a 'Wow' factor in only the good sense - it might be 'Wow! He's really, really crap'.

YOU CAN STOP IT NOW CORTESE..pick up the phone

Remember the Paul Allen debacle - there was lot of in-the-knowers then as well. -
Yet today, with a caretaker manager in charge, one would presume NC has complete control - but lo and behold -Guly is not in the starting eleven. Weird huh? Or could it be that the above statement may not have too much of a grain of truth in it?.......
-
Hmmm yes.....I seem to rememebr a couple of 'In the Knows' who said Martin won't be playing anymore because Cortese doesn't like him and Guly will play because Cortese want's him to play......Could this be that these rumours - like all the rest - are completely made up? Shurely shome mishtake?
-
Not wishing to state the obvious just because Adkins is great at S****horpe it does not necessarily follow he'll be fantastic at Southampton likewise one of so called 'crap' managers who are supposedly in the frame could have been dreadful in their last two jobs and be absolutely fantastic here. For goodness sake anyone who has followed professional football for at least three or four years should be able to see this.

We've spunked away a reasonable Premiership team, FA Cup Finalists, 32,000 capicity top flight stadium advantages in 5 years for League One football and now we've managed one home win in five home games - oh and we haven't scored a goal past Swindon Town in three games in succession let alone beat them. I think that does in fact make us..... TOSSERS!
-
We're gonna lose so put your hatred on hold for the time being.....this ride will be roughing and harsher for a short while longer methinks.

1. There is no new management team lined up - this is Southampton Football Club remember we don't anything easily or correctly. 2. Quite clearly absolutely no one on here has any idea why Alan Partridge was sacked. Mind you I have missed the my sisters, lovers, dog-handlers best mate and the steward that has to have all business decisions ratified by him, or the deliveryman who waits outside offices to overhear business conversations or SFC executives who discuss confidental information in the queue at Sainsbury - oh where have they been this season? 3. We are all obviously supporting the wrong team and are being punished by the god of football - I call him 'Kickamungus the Mighty' - and we are actually living in some grotesque version of hell that goes on ad infinitum.

The record low attendance for a Saints competitive match is somewhere around 1745 or something versus Port Vale after and 8-0 defeat at Tottenham I think. So there is no chance. Maybe a record low attendance at St Marys.
-
I'm starting to think there isn't anyone lined up - events seem to be pointing towards this.

I started to read this thread but then a force nine stirred up my hot beverage so I had to stop. Piffle and balderdash is what it is....
-
The problem with Martin O'Neil is that he clashes with interfering chairman etc......luckily that's not gonna happen at our club....oh hang on....
-
O'Neil would be the only manager I would be estastic with - it's very unlikely though.....Zola...a very nice bloke but not a very good manager as proved beyond doubt at West Ham United.
-
No new players that's for sure. The next few games will be with a manager who has not selected this current squad and who are in a bit of shock due to the fact that some of them may well have got on with Pardew. Personally I believe this will mean at least another season or two in League One. Only Saints eh?

Micheal Owen stated himself on Radio 5 Live about two weeks ago he will never play outside the top division and will not play in the Championship let alone League One. If he can't get a club to sign him in the top flight he will retire and therefore only have been a top flight player throughout his career. He was saying this himself on the radio. To be honest he sounded a little bit egocentric but it was directly from the horses mouth. Forget it. -

Yes my mate has just texted me saying that the title is already over - he supports Wednesday. Last Sunday morning for our team's second friendly of the season he more or less turned up in Wednesday's full kit - he's 34 by the way. I've just replied that I have given up any hope of the title after four games (I know some on this forum have but I haven't). -

I'm sorry but I just don't think saying Rochdale are some inferior football club to us is fair on that club. Their supporters who has seen nothing but abject cellar-dweller since before I was born - 1962 - celebrated promotion last season and I bet they enjoyed every single kick of the ball win, draw or lose and then some of our fans come on here and belittle them and say they are insignificant. It is exactly the sort of stuff I have always heard from my Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and other 'top' side supporting mates about Saints - therefore I for one will never, ever join that band wagon. Believe or not I actually want Southampton to win every game and be top of the ****y Premiership but it aint' gonna happen real soon and I don't think because we were a top league side for 29 years or so that all of sudden we now have right to be there. I will never belittle any club in our division, or any above us or below, they are as valid as a club and have as passionate supporters as we do.....sorry it's in my nature and anyone is welcome to argue with me as long as they like - I can't change my nature very much at 48 years old. -

What do you think of Manchester United supporters? 'Cause you sound like one - 'insignificant little clubs' indeed. Did I anywhere in my post say "oh and I really, really like losing to Tranmere and drawing at home to Leyton Orient'? Until we get promoted we are a League Division Three club - that is an indisputable fact and our past counts for nothing when considering the current circumstances. -

Was it that long ago with and less muscle we started the season above the likes of Everton, Villa or Man Citeh. And now we are a League Division Three and all of the above are just memories - get used to it until it changes. Our rivals are Rochdale et al and we deserve to be in this division because we were **** and got relegated - when and indeed if we get promoted as sometime in the future we'll deserve that too. Anyone would think we were European Champions and regular FA Cup and League winners but a few years back....... -

1 Norwich sacked their manager to turn round their season. I keep seeing this being bandied about - did Norwich not lose their opening home game 7-1? After three games their league record was P-3 W-0 D-1 L-2 GF-3 GA-10. I would imagine that most managers playing in League One after being relegated from the Division above would get the sack with a similar record. After two games Norwich had draw one and lost one and has scored 2 goals and let in 8. After two games Saints have lost one, drawn one and scored 1 goal and let in 2. To achieve Norwich's lamentable start to last season we will have to lost 8-2 at Rovers. All things are possible but I can't help feeling that there are many, many knee-jerk reactions on this forum. I said when we went down that it might take us five or six years to crawl out of this division, much like it did last time. At the moment I still hold to that prediction but even I don't think it's the end of the world because of our poorish start to the season. If we win 6-1 on Saturday will be the greatest team outside of the Premiership....until the next game.
