This is really boring. He'll probably sign on and score four goals between now and the rest of the season.....
-
If you're referring to what I posted - errr - it was meant to be funny. Apparently not though.
-
Apparently the Charlie Austin signing is off. In a sensational last minute twist the Swindon striker refused to sign after complaining about having to drive back and forth to Southampton to have medicals and be shown around the facilities every day for the last fortnight. Remember the real Keyser Söze was Roger 'Verbal' Kint.
-
I have - he works 'king hard for his goals runs all over the pitch, makes space and if he gets a half chance inside the penalty yard box it'll be on target 99 times out of 100. Believe me if he doesn't bite off more than can chew (straight into the Premiership) and signs for the right team he will continue to score goals. As for him being a complete cock - well let's be honest that doesn't put him an exclusive club when it comes to professional footballers does it? For the record I can't see him signing for Saints unless he's on a huge wedge and he has some agreement in his contract where the club will let him go if a larger or 'higher up' club comes in for him. Even then I think no.

You are wear Bart-Tinted spectacles. The first one shown on TV, so plenty of time to replay it over and over again, was a nice floaty, plenty of time to judge the flight and make your mind up type cross. Bart fudged it simple as that. Basically we should sack 'em both and get in that League One keeper who plucks crosses out of the air like they were grapes off a vine and is also a brilliant passer of the ball, a fantastic shot-stopper and wonderful at one-on-ones. You can see them every week on the League One highlights, actually scratch that, you can these keepers every week on any of the division highlights. Let me know when you've got him 'cause I will pay a lot of money to come and watch him every week.
-
I suggest keeping these posts when 'where's Bart' starts playing regulalry (if you can remember that photograph - I do).

Have you lot been posting on Football Transfer Rumours? It's virtually the same lists!
-
I go on there every now and then and click 'unbelievable' for everything. Childish fun but it keeps me occupied - and I'm right 99.9% of the time too.
-
I only saw it on the goggle box so perhaps I shouldn't make too much of a judgement but the cross he missed that had to be cleared off the line was very poor goalkeeping. Poor positioning to start off with and then poor decision making that gave them a chance to score when really it was a ball that should have been caught. Having said the save was good and he kept a clean sheet so job done. With a bit more experience and training he will get even better. The goalkeepers art of dealing with crosses in this country has been in decline for many, many years. I think it really went downhill when we got the influx of Euro-Keepers because I can remember way back in the day when British goalies caught crosses and 'world-class' goalies like Sepp Maier did weird punchy-flappy type things at crosses. We shouldn't be too hard on Kelvin or Bart for their inability to deal cleanly with crosses, it's a big club with a lot members nowadays.

His angry outbursts and the other various things he does seem to me to point to the fact he is sticking up for his club no matter what. Something that a lot of club's supporters don't always do. Personally I don't think he's as bad as he is painted - on the touchline and having to deal with him on match days he is probably odious but outside of this environment he is probably no worse than any other manager - and probably better than quite a few. To be fair he does like his teams to play good football (of course he has the resources but the way he plays is entertaining in general).
-
I think you're getting mixed with the headlines that say people are tracking PAUL LAMBERT of Norwich and the club are saying he is not leaving. I saw a similar headline and got confused until I read the article.
-
There are better ones than that on Football Rumours. Michael Owen to Saints for starters. The same Michael Owen who I head on Radio 5 Live before Christmas saying he would never play outside of the Premiership and would rather retire than play in the lower leagues - he's that marvellous.....but if Saints offer he's bound to change that tune.... It is a right numpty site and people just make stuff up and post it and then off it goes around the www to turn up later as FACT!

Honestly who gives a **** what supporters of other clubs think about our club? After all we're the same about Arse-nal and Man Ure and Tottenham. It's pointless tribalism and hating businesses which always makes me laugh (I hate Microsoft but love Sony - give me a break).
-
Great result and performance by the sound of it. With Swindon losing today and now being three points off relegation I can't see them holding onto Charlie Austin (even if he doesn't come to us). Perhaps he's looking at the table (and shots on goal we have every game) and starting to think.
-
I think there is more of a touch of 'I don't like Nigel Adkins' therefore I will make theories up that fit my prejudices. Sorry but this is my honest 'not a personal attack' opinion.

Honestly? We're no where near the playing record I thought we'd have at this stage BUT perhaps my expectations were too high and like others if I reappraise the team and players we are not quite as good as we think we are. We aren't as bad as the wrist slashers make out but it is a bit of a 'shock' to realise that well....we will do well to get promoted and after the first half of the season, unless we sign some amazing players that blend in and gel immediately, we will be playing in League One again next season. As I've said before we'll just have to take stock, start again and wait for the 'good times' to start sometime soon....I'm not convinced they are just around the corner that's all. The amazing thing is we have always seemed to be this club for decades. Flattering to deceive or just plan struggling with moments to remember scattered in amongst hard slog (for the fans). To be honest sometimes I wonder why I bother - then we beat Manchester United 6-3.....

Saints 0 Brentford 2 - Post Match Depression
David Strover replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
Can you please now watch a video of every Brentford game this season and watch their goalie play brilliantly every game? Oh by the way good luck with that.... -
He's a goalkeeper mindless criticism from people who **** themselves at football games when a team needs a goalie comes with the job. At any level too. The first goal looked like me versus Nomansland and Landford - I was still reasonable good for the level I played in though. Everyone who played with me constantly reminds me of the mistakes I used to make and no one - not one person - ever says anything about the saves (and broken arms, noses and knees I got doing them). That is life for a goalie.
-
Can someone please point out a really brilliant League One goalkeeper we can sign who will keep clean sheet after clean sheet and assure us of promotion? Having watched some 'other' League One games not involving Southampton I can guarantee you I haven't seen one that: 1. Doesn't make judgement errors (every game) 2. Is terrified of crosses when it looks like there's a challenge coming in. This could be a reason why nobody has ever really heard of any of them and why the ply their trade in League One. Mind you there's a few in Premiership who this could apply to.

Saints 0 Brentford 2 - Post Match Depression

Never mind two away games on the trot next.....and we're very, very good away from home. I expect some posters to have ended it all by the time both games are finished, others to be in police cells after trying to assassinate Nigel Adkins and still others to be supporting Manchester United or Chelsea. Meanwhile the rest of us take stock and sit it out....at some time our fortunes will change for the better. Nicola this is why Saints fans are generally pessimistic by the way! -
Don't watch QI do you? It has nothing to do with lying or telling the truth - apparently the only way to tell is someone is telling the truth or lying is listening to what they say.
-
It looks like being the highest in the 2nd Round - Sheffield Wednesday had just under 8 and half I believe.
-
Exhibit A: The photograph of the Exeter City League Cup goal - "Where's Bart?" Exhibit B: Bart's superb display for Poland (Under 21s?) a few years ago. For the record I think he's a good goalie just not the 'world beater' some people on this Forum think. I recently watched a Swindon Town home game and their goalkeeper was giving his team nightmare's from the first minute with his 'will I come for it, won't I come for it' decision making. In League One Kelvin is a very good goalie.
