Perhaps you'd like to swap the 5-1 home win over Walsall with Leeds 2-1 home defeat to same opposition whilst you're at it?
-
That's my problem too. When you use the 'ignore' function it can be a reasonable forum.

We won the Minnows Cup - Kings Arms.

Pardew expects Southampton board to keep their word
David Strover replied to John B's topic in The Saints
Hopefully everyone wants the club to be successful - but I think history has proved that sacking managers every 12 months or less rarely works. I hope we are not heading back down this road we already have a terrible revolving door reputation as it is.... -
If you miserable bastards are so upset with this **** club I suggest you **** off and support Manchester United, Chelsea or Arsenal and then you can get really upset when the team loses one game in about forty matches......for feck's sake we nearly didn't have a team to support a few months ago. For feck's sake!

For the original statement to make any sense you have compare our 'late goal conceding' record with everyone in League One (at least) and see if it average or inordinately high.
-
We don't want Pimpey - just because they are in a awful state at the moment does not mean the team on the pitch is crap - they won today against Premiership opposition and they would be a very, very tough game. If they played to their potential they should win and I don't want anymore 4-1 defeats to those turnips thanks. For me the next time we play them is in the league, we do the double over them and relegate them with a 5-1 at Fart-on Park....

Time to stop visiting this Forum again for a while - without doubt we must be the most miserable fans in the Football League - I bet Chester City supporters don't moan as much as this.

Everyone needs to get a ****ing grip. They same thing has just happened at Ipswich to Coventry except that Coventry equalised and then conceded in the 92nd minute to lose the game. It's not a good thing but you know what.....it happens in football from time to time - we did it a Wolves the season we stayed up. Didn't here anyone saying how 'unprofessional' Wolves were just how great we were....
-
There are bound to be clubs better than us even within League One what I find nice is we are no longer the crappiest team in the division. Leeds are better at the moment - the result over us and the league position proves it but there are many more years of football to go and many, many things can change. As for the 'dirty Leeds' please also remember the bribing and cheating and 'do anything to win a match Leeds' along with the 'Republic of Leeds' attitude of the supporters - I think these things sort of lump in with the 'dirty' bit. I remember going to Stockbridge school and having loads of little snotters telling me how great Leeds and Yorkshire was when they were born and bred in the same village in Hampshire as me.....therefore I do actually dislike that football team but it's not their fault to be fair!
-
Here we go again people predicting a nice easy win - including what I hope was a tongue in cheek 7-1 home win - when was the last time I saw so many 'easy, easy' predictions? Oh yes just before the Brighton game.........

Chance of a signing before the loan window closes?
David Strover replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Didn't they do that before....and that is what happened? -
We beat Wolves 6-0 so give him the credit of the clean sheet! Anyway it really doesn't matter what is posted on here I think it is clear that Kelvin is out and Bart is the next inline - read the OS. I think Bart will be okay, the fixture list is kind to him apart from Leeds away but I would still like to see this 'command of the penalty area' he has. As an ex-goalie from my armchair I saw him be a bit hesitant for crosses and looped in balls versus Charlton - their goal was a volley inside the six yard box for goodness sake - but having said that his distribution was okay and he is a good shot stopper. He obviously plays on confidence, probably more than Kelvin who just ploughs on regardless - and the crowd can help with this so let's get behind him and the team on Saturday and see our first clean sheet in thirteen games! That's the way to do it. .....But what happens if he gets injured or sent off? Ulp!
-
I said right from the season start - finishing fifth from bottom is success anything after that is a bonus. All you have to do is remember that Brighton were hammered 3-0 at home yesterday and 7-1 at Huddersfield Town to see how far we have to go. We've got a good three or more frustrating years in this division yet.
-
Well fair's fair a leg break is very serious injury - mind you I think he did his ligaments or summit and I've done that so I know that depending on the injury it can be more serious than clean break. No consolation if you actually break your leg mind you!
-
Oh and I'm pretty certain he didn't 'break his leg' at Newcastle either.
-
Crystal Palace beat Saints 4-1 on the opening day of that particular season. I can't help feeling if Kelvin had conceded the same goal against Charlton as Bart did there would be rash of 'he's ****' posts on this forum. It was a volley, not a header but a volley, inside the six yard box. Surely the keeper should be challenging for this? Having said that Bart coming out for crosses was a lot better than his recent matches for Saints and if he keeps up this progress Kelvin should not be able to get away with a bad game anymore.

Coppell lined up as Director of Football - online report (or not)
David Strover replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
Of course it was a hoax - in which thousands of people willing participated in and have kept secret for over thirty years including the Russians and the Chinese who monitored every move but allowed the Americans to pretend to do something they wanted to be the first to do and my wife's uncle who was head hunted to NASA prior to the moon landings. Sometimes the most obvious answer is the answer. As for the Director of Football - well let them do it and see if it works. I'm sure the football people at Saints have got more of a clue than I have. -
I remember watching a game live on Sky in which West Ham United started the second half by kicking the ball straight out of play. I'm certainly no genius and it was pretty obvious at the time what it had happened. Every read about Don Revie and what he used to get up to? Every wondered about some of the shock results you've seen over the years. Sport + big money + gambling = trouble. No one will ever change that. If it was MLT it was dozen or more other footballers all around the country and those that didn't were probably ****ging or drinking their hours away. Nothing changes....
-
Put him on 'ignore' it's easy to do.
-
Not only that but one of the tactics we appeared to have was pass it back to Kelvin every single time if you have the ball - don't worry if there is free player or someone wide pass it back to goalkeeper - oh and don't worry about their forward bearing down on him he'll clear it. Then fans come on here and slag his kicking and distribution. Well in my opinion as an retired goalie he must really ****ing love it where he lives because no goalie can like playing for Southampton because it doesn't matter how good you are they'll just make you look like a **** and your goals against average will never get about about 3.00 a game. We are really ****e, and I mean really ****e.

Swindon 1 v Saints 0 Post-Match Reaction
David Strover replied to StuRomseySaint's topic in The Saints
Really, really bad is being generous. My wife went along and she is not a Swindon fan nor a Saints fan and was shocked we paid £45 to watch a game of that standard. Swindon had more about them but weren't that good, they just worked hard, and Saints didn't look too bothered was her view. -
Swindon 1 v Saints 0 Post-Match Reaction
David Strover replied to StuRomseySaint's topic in The Saints
Well I've just got back from the game (look at where I live). Firstly Southampton Football Club must give free away tickets to all the fans that travelled to the game tonight because they deserved it. They were mostly sat in stunned silence. We can all go on about inexperience, gelling as a team, giving it time but none of thoes excuse the players who hoof the ball vertical in the air under no real pressure. They are professional after all. Pardew. Well I'm not calling for his head but I'd love him to come on the OS tomorrow and explain what the tactics were because I'm ****ed if I could work them out. Kelvin Man of the Match - put under more pressure by our back four than their front two - why do they constantly pass the ball back to him when there is no need. There are at the very least four players on the pitch tonight who shouldn't even start on the bench. Two new players before the deadline means we are in a relegation fight this season. Make no mistake we are a really, really poor team. My Swindon Town supporting mates who saw me after the game were shocked at the poor standard of our players. I'm not exaggarating but the Sunday morning team I help run pass it along the deck more than Saints. Tonight I am embarassed to be a Saints fan and I feel really, really sorry for those fans that came from Hampshire tonight and dejectedly trudged back to their cars in Walcot alongside me. I only had another fifteen minutes walk to get home. You are the true heroes of Southampton Football Club and not one of you deserves that dross.
