  1. A plank of wood? Wood have the same net output
  2. The lyrics to the Christmas classic 'The fairytale of Southampton football club'?
  3. He's done that yearly trick is scoring enough goals prior to the end of the transfer window closing, to trick some into thinking he's the answer to our striking problems. Post window closure he's absent.
  4. Someone ban this man. Ridiculously sensible suggestions. Get out.
  5. Behave yourself.
  6. Unclear why it was Adozie getting the chop again, even if this shape should, on paper, be better
  7. 55 seconds in and our LB and CM are falling over each other. It's actually fucking pathetic
  8. Completely overlooking the fact that Aribo has always been shit whereas Alcaraz has at least had the dignity to limit it to this season, but sure 🙄.
  9. What the actual fuck. Aside from all the other valid points made above, Alcaraz must be fucking livid he stayed this summer.
  10. Ever so sorry to hear this, my regards to you and the family.
  11. No but in fairness we only won the other games because we had two prem level midfielders
  12. Thing is he was pretty decent last season in this league. As was THB. As was Manning. As was Bree....Oh ok. 2/3 isn't bad so is it him...Or something else.
  13. I see the point of Sulemana coming on, I don't see the point of Edozie coming off. Did he get injured and because I can't bear to watch anymore I missed it?
  14. Less so when you consider that those two centre backs are awful as well.
  15. Bednobs is now my favourite player.
  16. Terrible follow up to an already terrible film?
  17. 🤣 possibly, the lying Malian bastard. Transfer market has him at 7 goals 3 assists as well so I'm thinking he probably did. Edit: I was only looking at League goals in fairness Either way it's certainly not 14 goals, 11 assists. I can understand why people are a little down on this one given we've been burnt by Tall Paul but I think this is one we can just be optimistic on/ wait and see. Play the man, not the history.... Or something. I fully understand he could be utter dross.
  18. 7 goals and 1 assist according to FotMob. So if they're correct, not even half as good as Paintsil.
  19. Have not seen him play. I can only go off stats that I am aware don't tell the whole story but he's a pacy winger, with 11 assists AND 14 goals from his last 30 game full season(22/23). Already has 2 assists in 4 games this season. Sure, it's the Belgian league so take it as you see it but they're not horrible stats and I'm interested to see what he brings. 5 foot 7 inches so another small player mind meaning we'll continue to be horrible from set pieces.
  20. Lol and rightfully so, it was light at the start of the season. With Che and Tella off, it's miserable.
  21. You can't get by with passion alone, you need some modicum of talent but the very best apply both together - this was about the only point I'll agree with you on but buzz words like "working hard", "Passion" and "loyalty"; they literally don't mean a thing at the end of the day when at the core the player isn't good enough. Suffice to say that you are part of the problem in the way that some are happy to accept mediocrity and think we'll still get results with it. Bottom line is both of them are shit. It's that simple. They have been the heart of the problem for a long time and now, more than ever, we have a piss weak spine of the team with Baz and any CM we have in front of them that isn't JwP or Lavia, as further additions to the problem. But you crack on defending them.
  22. I mean you are arguing the toss between human shit and dogshit. They're both awful.
  23. It really doesn't because here we are discussing it. It's also just buzz words that ultimately mean nothing and is trumpeted by those who think it's a requirement to be good at something. It CAN help sure, but it also requires ability, hard work, technique and a myriad of other actual traits as opposed to soft words that mean next to nothing. Bottom line, they are both very limited defenders and although I don't mind Stephens as a passer they've both been average for years and yet we still put up with them, and somehow expect them to be better and they never are.
  24. And he's the better one... At least he can pass the ball. Bednarek is devoid of any redeemable defensive attributes.
  25. If anyone in this forum thought that our CB options for the season were suitable in spite of the opening day result, then I don't know what to say. Some of you are clearly happy to settle for utter dross in the hope that they play well once in 5 games in the name of "pashun" and "loyaltee". They've always been bang average, they continue to be bang average.
