  1. We actually won 3 of our first 5 and had scored 10 league goals. We've won 1 against a terd Wrexham side. We were, however, fucking shit in the next 4 in which we lost all 4 scoring just twice. Like Martin then, he's using a lot of goodwill up, and that's a lot to do with his stupid 352 bollocks. Still time, but he HAS to turn it around now. No more excuses.
  2. This echoes it for me but I will give it a 6 because I think the cleanse job that happened cannot have been easy and yet we got rid of a lot of shit which is brilliant and upgraded in some areas - but not as many as I'd like (GK, CF). I also think deep lying CMs shouldn't be an issue if Downes can pull his head of out his arse - he started like this last time around and was then brilliant so fingers crossed there. IF it all clicks and the 2 CMs can become generals we should have enough to challenge for auto's but its not a given without a recognised quality striker. Hoping LND finds his old Championship form one more time and for a longer stint or that Archer steps up is quite the ask.
  3. 1 year left on his contract.
  4. Last time I say this I promise but I think if you do this you start Stewart with Archer/AA instead and bring Downs on.
  5. Even SSN knows Pompey aren't a real club.
  6. Scrap that Tim Sherwood is in now #freeAustin!
  7. I think we are missing the bigger picture here and that is why the fuck is Charlie Austin on SSN about deadline day. Its a horrible listen.
  8. Let's say you are right and I am barking at the moon, because I barely remember my own name at the moment. HOWEVER, regardless it allowed us to keep pace long enough for Leeds's and Leicester's form to drop off a cliff.
  9. See I can absolutely get behind this optimism, I want him to do well but we also went on a bit of a generational run to make that gap up. We did also start better under RM - BTW I do not want that bellend back either, this isn't what I am saying. Maybe it is - fair enough, but I don't think he's learned as much as he should've though. And I absolutely cannot abide this whinging (hyperbole a bit here) that he can't play anything other than 5 at the back because he doesn't have the personnel - you had preseason to figure that out - that's on you buddy. KWP - we had adequate backup for that position. Dibling - potential but not the finished article or guaranteed starter, Fernandes played every game except Watford. You're not being serious about Sulemana though, are you? I think his exclusions have been good agreed, however I would have been excluding Stephens from that list too even with hindsight in that he's actually turned out to be our best defenders so far. What I cannot get behind the most though is this chucking 4 games away (as I said on another thread) in the name of belligerence. We have not played well in a single same so far and we go into an absolute shitter of a fixture with no momentum now.
  10. According to Fotmob he scored 11 in 23 league games - someone want to fact check them because I know FM can be wrong at times. IF that is correct, as I suspect it is on this occasion, its less than a goal every two. He isn't doing it again I don't reckon either.
  11. It's middling though really isn't it. It's still only ever 11 goals in a full season and at a rate of less than a goal every 2 games even then. I dunno, it's one of them, I hope he comes good I just don't think players simply unlock something that they've never had. And he looks like a headless chicken most of the time - granted mostly in the prem.
  12. Looked offside to me and on replay. Regardless, what else did he do? He's never been prolific before and I've seen nothing that makes me think he's suddenly going to become so. Both AA and Stewart have at least been so, if in small sample sizes in Stewart's case. It's actually more of a shame that we've got 4 to choose from, none of which are actually any good anymore/ever have been. I think Stewart + AA is a better option than Archer or AA leading the line.
  13. I mean I agree, he's been an absolute liability. I'm basing it off what I've seen so far this season. I cannot watch another fucking moment of AA as a no 9, Archer is still hit and miss (great first half yesterday, offside liability second) and whilst Stewart's scoring stats do need to improve, so does the opportunity to do so. Downes looked great briefly in pre-season and more like a conference player since. It's not the best stable to pick from mind. Just IMO you get more out of AA on the left and one bigger man up front if our game plan is to cross it tons.
  14. I actually think Stewart is our best bet (I know I've said it before). I'm unconvinced by Archer, and if we're looking for crosses into the middle, AA and Archer are weaker options I've also actually been impressed with Stewart's work with the ball when not in the box. Albeit in small cameos.
  15. Again, not unreasonable but why is it always us? Why do we have to wait until this, that and the other. Why can't we find a way? I still think we're using fairly average excuses. It's a big gap already and we have started worse than under Russell
  16. Is that unreasonable? He's been here all pre-season, appears to have learnt nothing from that time, and has now continued that on to vital games. We're already 7 points behind Boro.
  17. I can be onboard with this, and I HAD nothing against him, but it's fucking boring being the team that gives up the first handful of games each season because of another excuse. And let's be clear, it's an excuse. He's been unimpressive so far. Let's see how he changes it, but we're below Pompey now. That's not a good look considering we've played pony in every single game so far
  18. He has been awful so far though 😂
  19. He's spouting bollocks then. I don't like Bazunu at all, but that was a foul all day long.

FFS why haven't we signed anyone in 15 minutes?
  21. Aged like out of date milk 🤣
  22. The Archer we bought is the same cart horse as the one on the pitch. He's another 'always been terd thus still is terd' which appears to be our transfer strategy.
  23. Charles has been pretty good I think, but Downes is a shadow of the player who played for us last time we were in the championship. Also is Clinton Baptiste commentating on Sky? "Y'alright. I'm getting the word...."
