It’s the opportunity cost though. His individual cost wasn’t that much* but gambling on him meant we didn’t buy someone else who could actually score goals for us as a CF. Now Stewart’s injured again, that decision means we don’t have anyone with the profile of a strong, oven-ready centre forward who can score the goals we need to challenge for the top of the table. If that decision means we miss out on promotion, as it could well do, then the cost of that utterly failed gamble is potentially £100m+. (*Although other teams in this division have also spent much less on centre forwards who are having much more impact)

Saying it's not enough for Rangers "just to win" because that's "not sustainable". Like he's made the choice to only win 5 out of 17 fixtures so far because it wouldn't have been befitting to win any of the others if it couldn't be done prettily. Or an alternative way of looking at it is that with 37 matches and 111 points still to play for we're 4 points off the play-off places and 7 off the automatics. We've been massively disappointing so far and clearly a huge improvement is needed, but at this stage of the season and with the resources we've got available, to start writing us off completely is a bit premature. Whether Still is the man to find the right formula or not remains to be seen, and the striker situation which everyone could see coming is concerning, but I just don't believe that there isn't a team and system to be found in that squad that's capable of coming at least sixth in this division. It does need finding though, and fast.

If the left hand side was the problem, surely that should have been on Fraser (who stayed on the pitch for another 20 odd minutes after Scienza went off) to track back more, as that was his side. How is it Scienza's problem if he's playing at 10?

Obviously everyone was howling when he was subbed off as he was having a really good game, but for those who were there, was there actually an obvious reason for it that may not have been clear from watching on a crappy stream? It didn't appear to make any sense, and it was compounded by the fact that muffin the mule was the one to come on in his place which wound people up even more, but in the cold light of day was there any logic to it?
