If Mane can learn the offside rule he is going to be very dangerous in behind
-
Wanyama immense in the middle
-
Redknapp getting absolutely slaughtered lol

Great start - look well up for it. Could be a big game for Mane

Holy crap, pick that one out. Clynesque!

Surely deserves his own song now. To the tune of Fog on the Tyne: Nathaniel Clyne is all mine all mine Nathaniel Clyne is all mine (worth watching if only for the vintage rapping performance from Gazza).

Well as a Holloway-based Saint who lives surrounded by Gooners, that was fun. Massive save by Fraser in the first half just after we went 2-1 up. Meant we went into HT with the lead which was so important psychologically. Not much to add that hasn't already been said about a fantastic team performance but I thought Targett in particular was superb. Strong, confident, assured and just won everything. Looks like we've got another proper player there. Our fans were brilliant in a ground that just sucks the energy out of crowds, but my god the Arsenal support is poor. The Emirates may be pretty but I would hate to sit in a turgid atmosphere like that week in, week out. Liverpool at home in the next round please, and smash the twitch on Saturday. Happy days. COYR.

Interesting from the Spurs forum... This is just something I want to share.. Someone I know who has very close links to the club reckon quite a few of the senior THFC players are not buying into MP technics but especially his training tactics..Apparently you need "2 hearts" to able to reach his desired levels of fitness but without much "thought" to the technical side of the game.. The Southampton players brought into it as they were either relatively unknown or most were young and hungry from their academy but even they had some issues with it ( the guy who they signed from Italy?) and shipped out.. And they're a bit tasty on their boards aren't they, jesus, and we think this place has got some nutters

Lots already questioning his lack of a plan B and apparent lack of ability to change it when required. 65% possession but toothless up front and beaten by a lower level team. All sounds rather familiar. Excellent.

Aaaand here they go, that didn't take long ... It is obviously really early in Pochs regime but today for me has put a big question mark on him with his team prep, selection and basic tactics and use of subs. He looked clueless on the sidelines today. I said before the season started that Poch could easily be sacked before 10 league games are played. Still would'nt suprise me. Please no more, Poch. Terrible match, no fight, no running. I was so excited by Poch, I've seen glimpses of good stuff, but I'm beginning to be completely unimpressed by him to be honest. Part of it is I don't agree with a lot of things he does, then what he does do fails pathetically which just reinforces the irritation he doesn't do what you wanted! Enjoying yourself Mauricio? http://www.glory-glory.co.uk/showthread.php/6853-***-OMT-Tottenham-Hotspur-v-West-Bromwich-Albion-***/

The Faltering Fullback is decent and is about 10 mins walk away. Just round the corner from Finsbury Park tube.

Out of interest, what device/ browser are you using? I've subscribed to Sportsnation HD and am on a Mac. Hardly any of the streams work for me and I've tried it on Chrome, Firefox and Safari, all with pop-ups disabled. I've tried to get both the Spurs and Everton games tonight, and neither would connect. I just get the page with Ronaldo on the left and the chat window on the right, with 'connecting' in the bottom left hand corner ad infinitum (on Chrome). Meanwhile I could get either of those games for free (albeit in shady quality) on goatd.net at the same time, so it's not like they weren't available. Any advice gratefully received...

"I also have a boy. That comes in the afternoon to me, politely gives a hand." No wonder he always looks so relaxed.

*Shudder* My god those were bleak times

My word, they really haven't taken to dear Dejan have they : All fur coat and no knickers at the moment. He really needs to start sticking to the basics and cut out the simple errors that are costing us. Not writing him off or anything, hopefully he'll improve like, but he's a walking f*kcing mistake at the moment. It's like watching Skrtel with hair. Rash, lacking in concentration and error ridden - its like watching a front footed Skrtel! Maybe its nerves but he needs to get back to basics and improve fast Lovren is becoming a concern. We were warned that he wasnt upto much but I thought he was better then this. His positioning is appalling. http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=315355.1440

Lovren getting skinned every time and Lallana scuffs and misses from six yards, excellent.

Squad announced for 2014/15 Campaign

Corky's middle name is Porteous. We should play him as part of a midfield three alongside Athos and Aramis. Would give us a cutting edge. -
What's our official 25-man squad?
Midfield_General replied to Midfield_General's topic in The Saints
Right, didn't know that. OK so it's: GK: Forster, Boruc, Davis, Gazzaniga DEF: Clyne, Alderweireld, Gardos, Fonte, Yoshida, Bertrand MID: Tadic, Wanyama, Schneiderlin, Cork, Davis, Mane ATT: Rodriguez, Pelle, Long, Mayuka That makes 20. So we've got 5 more places. Have we actually got 5 more senior pros who aren't out on loan? Then the U-21s who don't count but we can still pick are: Cropper, Targett, Ward-Prowse, Isgrove, Gallagher -
So far I've got: GK: Forster, Boruc, Davis, Cropper DEF: Clyne, Alderweireld, Gardos, Fonte, Yoshida, Bertrand, Targett MID: Tadic, Wanyama, Schneiderlin, Ward-Prowse, Cork, Davis, Mane, Isgrove ATT: Rodriguez, Pelle, Long, Gallagher That's only 23. Who are the other two going to be?

Chicharito, who wasn't good enough for us, signs for Real Madrid

Hugo Shecketer - player liaison officer?
Midfield_General replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
An interesting role, also known as 'cosseted footballers' b!tch'. Simon Jordan tells some great stories about some of the stuff PLOs get asked to do, not least by our very own dear Fabrice: "Last April a Fulham player liaison officer told the papers about some of his tasks. He said he'd been called out to Alain Goma's house because 'Goma's goldfish was swimming in the wrong direction'. He'd been called to rescue a player lost on the London Underground ('he was helpless'). He'd been called out by Fabrice Fernandes who kept waking up in the morning with a wet head, and discovered the player had been 'sleeping by an open window'." -
Gaston Ramirez to Seville on Loan (Rumour)
Midfield_General replied to saint-ross's topic in The Saints
Just reading his Wiki page and discovered that rather brilliantly, Gaston's home town is Fray Bentos. If he stays, his new song should be 'who ate all the pies'. That'd confuse him. -

If that's true, at 23 years old, that's extraordinary. -
Samaras signs for West Brom on a free. Phew.
