We need to remember no manager can wave a magic wand and turn the 2nd worst team ever into world beaters over night. People will argue a lot of the players were here last year and that’s a valid point but that also means it’s a new team that takes time there are question marks over Still for sure sometimes it does seem difficult to see what he’s doing but also there are only 5 teams in the division who have lost more games than us and 4 of them are the current top 4. its early days and whilst so far it’s underwhelming it’s not been terrible

Shearer and Van Dijk are the only ones I can think of that had a serious injury and got back to near their best. I can’t think of anyone else who’s had a serious injury and returned

It’s a real shame for us and for him. we’ve had a little glimpse of what might have been. He looks like he could have been an absolute beast in the championship and possibly half decent in the premier league. I didn’t realise until just now he’s only ever played more than 30 games ina season once and that was in league one for Sunderland. Didn’t check the reasons why but can only assume it’s injuries as ability wise he seems to have an awful lot in his locker

Well yes depends how you look at it of course. For the traditional fan in England football has been over for years. For the global TV audience which is what they’re interested in now it’s never been bigger

He was an absolute prick wasn't he, it was quite telling that a few of the women wouldn't give him character references. I do think a couple of them got stitched up through, the one who made the comment about how many immigrants are in custody right now didn't really say anything wrong. If you really wanted to be outraged then you could argue he did but he was asked his opinion and gave it using evidence as he saw it to back it up, the fact people didnt like it isn't his fault. The one who got really pissed and had the guy asking him leading questions and agreeing with everything he said the whole night, he was set up there. Also the one who said he enjoyed arresting and restraining people, again cant really see too much wrong with that, you'd have to to be able to do the job.
