I agree with you there. I have always thought Carrick was an excellent Footballer. Perfect for international football. he is great on the ball, retains it well and rarely gives it away. I've thought for a long time Englands best formation was 4-2-3-1 with Carrick and Parker as the two - two wingers and Gerrard or Lampard in the middle behind Rooney. It's be fluid, full of pace and power up front and players that can actually play football and keep the damn ball when we need to.
