  1. One of the funniest things I ever seen anywhere was when Keith Legg was being courted by Micheal Wilde to get the fans onside and Was invited to Sweden as his guest for a preseason trip. Someone posted a picture of someone walking a lap dog with Wilde and Keith’s faces on them, I’d love to see that again.
  2. It also doesn’t work very well when you supposedly take people off ignore to reply to them, even though you couldn’t have seen the post if they were on ignore, which is a weird thing to do.
  3. The figures might not be bang on but they must have come from somewhere. Nobody would just guess saints manager is almost as well paid as managers of Chelsea and Man United. You’d probably say saints are well down the list if you were just guessing
  4. I would assume Howes deal includes a huge bonus for keeping them up so maybe that’s not in these numbers. I know Ralph is very well paid but seems very off he’s not far of champions league winning Tuchel and Ten Hag managing one of the worlds biggest clubs.
  5. I take it you don’t remember the days of infraction points for pointless posts. 95% of the posts on here would qualify for that these days
  6. Assume you’re talking about TUI, which used to be hilarious a few years ago, some of the threads would have me in stitches. But that got ruined by all the political stuff and one lunatic who seemed determined to get the site shut down. going way back Essruus b-anter forum was brilliant as well, can only imagine what some of the wet lettuces that post on here would have made of it. Grizzle gutting into their rainbow laces and herbal teas (no milk) no doubt. It quite sad that I’ve been posting on This place regularly it is various guises for 20 odd years now though and has always gone through cycles. It was much like the TUI used to be in its early days, then it got overtaken by a load of helmets who it appeared only discovered football when we moved to st Mary’s with the seating plans, what name are you getting on your shirt this season? Geeky stuff. The ITK era of the late 00s was blinding, with the power struggle between fans and fan groups. Amygate, St Romsey saints feud with delldays, franks cousins drunken rants, the Spanish loon who banged on about Javi De Pedro endlessly, Gulys 15 minute contract clause, some funny stuff over the years. still a few good posters but a lot who take themselves very seriously and just want to quote stats or show how virtuous they are. Sadly that is also a reflection of how football has gone, but I definitely think this forum is home to some of the weirdest, geeky, self righteous helmets I’ve ever come across.
  7. Which ones are not accurate?
  8. The second poster on here says all forums are the same, yet posts furiously on many of them, maybe he is the common denominator? as for me I’m the forums fine whiskey. Not everyone gets me or likes me but those that do think I’m marvellous. And even those that don’t still like to have a little taste now and again.
  9. You should have been on here a few years ago, it was brilliant. Thread after thread of off the scale discussion, sharing great stories, highs and lows, etc. then it went downhill, a lot of the good posters from that time don’t bother any more and you can see why!
  10. Interesting 🤔
  11. Again you’ve completely made up that i said or think that.
  12. That’s what people said, pundits too, you know like people who have played the game and actually know a bit about it who should we trust, people who watch the match, have played the game in some cases at international level or some bloke on a forum who looks at lots of spreadsheets and clearly has some agenda. Tough one.
  13. Nice rewriting of history 3 months ago people were saying Broja was good enough for Chelsea first team and highlighting he’d scored more than all their current strikers.
  14. I don’t think it’s enough it’s been a really disappointing last third of the season. He was great earlier in the season but the last 8 weeks or so hes dropped in form so has Livermento and Salisu, other young lads in their first full premier league season. It happens it’s what young players do. But I’ve got axe to grind with any of them, but then it wasn’t me saying a player 4 years older who now can’t get a game ahead of a 35 year old out of contract in a few weeks who has always been a pretty average player, had a higher ceiling.
  15. I’m not being pedantic, you said city often don’t have a 10 goal a season striker, it’s not true, they’ve had one every season as far back as I could be bothered to look. the lengths you will go to try to discredit a young player in his first full premier league season is really really weird
  16. “City and Chelsea will often not have a 10 goal a season striker” How often is not always? City have had a ten goal a season forward every season for the last 10 season, I couldn’t be arsed to go back further. I see you’ve moved the bench mark from 10 to 11 because it didn’t fit in with your claims 🤣
  17. Apart from Sergio Aguero who scored 10 goals or more for 9 of his 10 seasons, the 10th being his last when he only started 12 games. Oh and Raheem Stirling who’s scored 10 or more for the last 5 seasons in a row, you mean?
  18. Obafemi got no where near the level Broja was at earlier in the season
  19. It’s pretty obvious what he meant. Armstrong was obviously signed to be our main striker this season, that’s why we spent a lot, for us, on him. He started most games at the start of the season. after a promising start it now seems 35 year old Shane Long with a few weeks left on his contract is preferred to him. At the moment he isn’t doing the job he was signed for. Broja has been miles better than him over the course season and just because you don’t like it doesn’t make it untrue
  20. Especially as we’d need to sell to fund some if not all of it, so you’d need to replace those players as well. So talking probably 9-10 signings
  21. Missing the sort of stuff stats and spreadsheets don’t reply you, yes?
  22. Obvious he doesn’t he apparently posted on his Facebook this weekend a picture of him in a chelsea shirt saying “can’t wait to wear this again” tou can’t blame him for not wanting to stay, we are shit. Although I do question his attitude to make it to the very top as he seems to have checked out saints. The very best don’t do that. Physically he has it all but attitude wise, open to be questioned
  23. A second striker is basically someone who plays up front but doesn’t score much isnt it.
  24. Because all 3 of them are shite
  25. If ever a game was going to produce a convincing home win and a limp pathetic saints display it was tonight.
