The alternatives were Dave Beasant or Chris Woods! FAct of the day, all three of Englands 1990 World cup keepers played for Saints in their careers. Shilton was 40 by then and really should have been replaced but wasnt really a viable option. Shilton was Saints keeper when i started watching Saints and i remember him being brilliant but then i was only a kid, gutted when he left to go to Derby, big thing at the time about who was better him or Neville Southall. However he was past his best by then, guess his peak would have been late 70s, early 80s with Forest. Flowers was very popular but kept out of the team for a while by John Burridge who i remember being a pretty crap keeper but popular due to his gymnastic warm up on the pitch before games.

cause he's finished.

i thought that to. I'd love to see Simeone in the premier league. Would be great fun, love to see a team going mental, it's brilliant viewing, think someone else said the commentators banging on "we dont want to see this" Yes we absolutely do.
-
Course he is, think's he's a woman for a start.

The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.

What did you expect him to say? Even if he thinks he should privately he's not going to put it in a reply to some random person he's never heard of venting his spleen about it. -
(2241) Saints vs Arsenal 02/03 - YouTube 2 mins in. What a keeper.

I hope UEFA investigate his behaviour

funnily enough i was having this conversation the other day with one of the dads in my sons futsal. He was moaning that they're going twice a week and the sessions are very similar every week, what's the point of being able to do 10 keep ups with the outside of your foot etc. Exactly the point, mastery is practising the same skill over and over again, it might be boring for watching parents but it isnt about us and thats how it works, the kids dont seem to find it dull as they go home and practise in the garden for hours and that's why our kids are head and shoulders over the other kids in their saturday team. Anyway point being i'm sure some players could do that pass as well, but you dont see many doing it against the European champions when theyre desperate for a goal.

Think it was Duckhunter who made a very valid point, the really top players deliver when it matters. Pulisic two good chances, missed, Benzema, scores, Modric produces a bit of sheer brillaince to pull them back in to it. It's all very well scoring the 3rd in a 3-0 win, or the consolation in a 3-1 loss, but that's what seperates the good from the great, doing it when it matters.

This. TAA is probably slightly better going forward, but as we said he had a spell on sunday where we was ripped apart against City. As Englands centre backs are no where near the level of Liverpools then that's why i'd go for James better all rounder, followed by Walker although not much in that. With TAA as third choice. Tripper and KWP behind them, although the fact that Tripper and KWP can also play left back might mean they are preferred. Great problem to have though having 5 players competing for that spot.

Remember he's still dogshite though, so he's basically improved a player that was worse than that. I wouldn't be sticking that one on the CV if i was Ralph.
-
Why was Ralph unable to improve him when he first joined, before his loan spell?
-
So Ralph has taken a player from being what level to being dogshite?
-
No, you said Bennarek is dogshite. Heres the post. So is he dogshite or not? As for Elyanoussi Ralph had months to work with him before he went on loan, no improvement. Comes back from a 2 year loan and suddenly a much better player, yet it's all down to Ralph? Okay then.
-
1/ Ralph joined Saints in December 2018, Elynanoussi was part of his squad until June 2019 and showed absolutely zero signs of being premier league qualty, how come super Ralph wasn't able to wave his magic wand in December 2018 and transform him then? Why did he need to send him out on loan to a substandard league for two years with us no doubt picking up the tab for some of his wages whilst he contributed zip all for Saints? 2/ Earlier on you said "Bednarek is dogshite" now you'r banging on about him like he's some world beater, international player, prem regularler linked with Napoli. So which is it? All over the place again.

Not very complementry about Southampton Southampton, as a city, was hit hard by the Corona, and there are major problems with poverty, drugs, prostitution, and high unemployment
-
Yep, spreadsheets dont tell you that. funnily enough when i posted a link a while back to a player saying how much Howe had changed things it got shot down by someone saying, well what do you expect a player at Newcastle to say.
-
Seems like it, his wiki page says he was born in Stutgart and moved to England at that age. Although it also says he went to school in New Malden and Croydon.
-
scored the 3rd in a 3-1 win v Everton with 10 minutes to go and they played over 40 minutes without him against Villa, yes he scored the winner. Not quite sure how you equate that to single handedly winning them 6-9 points.
-
Well Tripper was also part of the Newcaslte team which lost to Cambridge, yet you're also hilariously claming he single handedly won then 6-9 points in his four league games, so which is it?
-
and you dont rate Broja, so surely if he's one behind then signing Wood cant be the reason why Newcastles form has upturned.
-
I'll ask again, what does Brojas form have to do with how Newcastle are doing?
-
What's that got to do with how Newcastle are doing?
-
Chris Wood has scored two goals for Newcastle, one of which was against us. Target couldn't get into our team ahead of Bertrand and was Villas second choice left back, Burn was a squad player at Brighton, it's laughable people think these three signings are the reason Newcastles form have turned round.
