I wouldn’t say they are bad on the ball but both traditional stopper, solid centre halves rather than ball playing ones. But both are experienced leaders who can defend properly which is exactly what we need at the back. Bednarek isn’t great on the ball, Stephens is better but both pretty poor defenders. Both Tarkowski and Mee out of contract this summer too and would be an upgrade on what we’ve got alongside Salisu. Not much use being able to pass it around nicely if you can’t do the basics as a defender which is the problem we have. I reckon the way we play would suit McNeil as well. 22 so fits the YHGTI criteria as well. Id expect he’ll go to a bigger club than us.

He played well for them yesterday when he came on. Burnley looked poor then he made an immediate impact. Cornet missed an absolute sitter at 1-0, reckon Burnley would have gone on and won if he'd put that away. Looks like they're down now though, I'd definitely take McNeil and Tarkowski or Mee, the sort of centre back we need.

He really doesn't have anyone capable. Davis and Watson are both goalkeepers, Fleming was brought in as an academy coach but has somehow got himself a first team role and Kitzbichler is more an analyst than a coach so he doesn't really have anyone able to help him. Personally i'd like to see us add some experience and quality to the back room staff during the summer as i dont think any other premier league club would have a set up as weak as we do.

Yep agree with that. He was lumped in with the likes of Hoedt and Lemina as being a waste of money but in reality his wages would have been low and his transfer fee was only something like £6m. A cheap squad player who Always did a reasonable enough job when he did play, just bad luck with his injuries.

Yep. MOTD said Werner has scored more goals against us than the entire rest of premier league combined, that’s unbelievable. Sadly it’s not an isolated case. We have always been the team a that the opposition will end a bad run of form against, same with players, if a striker needs a goal you can virtually guarantee one against us.

It’s been like that for years, no idea why it comes as a surprise to you.

Just announced his retirement after leaving us returned to Romainia but only played 55 games in 5 years. Very unlucky at saints, signed obviously as back up at the time and low cost low risk signing. Had a few good games notably when he came on as an early sub for Alderwerld in our 1-0 win away at Old Trafford. Horrendous luck with injuries with sadly saw him become a bit of a figure of fun with some fans.
