What was that story? Very sad, was he ill? Very young, especially for someone who appeared fit and healthy.
-
I make my own smoothies and have them for breakfast. My current favourite is full fat milk, Greek yoghurt, strawberries and two tablespoons of peanut butter. It’s delcious and very filling.
-
Sad to hear this. Always seemed like a really decent bloke. Doesn’t he have family or friends who work at Saints?

Obviously the reference to blowing things up was saying they should be having fun playing with balloons rather than taking football seriously at such a to young age. As for the banana reference again I don't see the issue with this, bananas have excellent nutritional qualities particular used by athletes for carbohydrate refuelling during or after excessive exertion. I don't see how anyone can take issue with teaching children healthy eating habits particularly if it is going to enable them to improve their performance in their sport of choice. Of course those who want to see racism everywhere will do, but perhaps their patronising attitude towards non whites harks back to the era of imperialistic Britain when anyone non British needed our help and support as they weren't bright to look after themselves. Terrible really some are still in this mindset where feel they need to help the savages as they cant help themselves.

Remember this from a few years ago? https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/09/04/mark-halsey-reveals-incident-he-claims-he-was-told-to-lie-about/ all got brushed under the carpet. How many others are influenced by their bosses, other managers or the premier league? A few years back the then chairman of the Premier league openly said the league needs a successful Man United team, presumably for their global appeal to keep worldwide viewing figures up. Lets not pretend the PL isn't dodgy. There may not be brown bags changing hands but certainly there is enough influence out there to make sure the smaller clubs never seriously threaten the big ones.

He’s young, so if he’s hungry he’s therefore guanreteed to improve. Despite never having heard of him until 20 minutes ago we HAVE to sign him. If we miss out on him Ross Wilson is an incompetent fool who is responsible for everything wrong at this club.
-
Came back into the side for the Newcastle game. We’ve concieded 3 in 3 of the 4 games including that one. Coincidence?
-
Paddy Power as new sponsors then

They’re not English, they’re scouse remember?

The virtue signalling from our club is ridiculous. Free tampons in the women’s bogs with a little note on club headed paper about how they shouldn’t have to pay for them. It’s weird.
-
Let’s hope Les has taught little Ross all about planning for when your manager leaves so you know exactly who you want to bring in before they go. We wouldn’t want any panic appoints now would we. I wonder if Les left him the secret file of managers only Les had access to as part of his job handover?
-
The guy deserves so much support. He should be honoured for this nationally you can do so here. I’ve done it https://www.gov.uk/honours
-
It’s weird is what it is. Why would a football club decide to give away free tampons? I see a few people saying how great it was and other clubs should Follow suit. Why? We believe you should pay £40+ for a ticket, we believe you should pay booking fee on top of this, we believe you should pay to park when you buy something from the club shop, but women at the game should get free jam wrags. Seriously who comes up with this nonsense?
-
He’d be perfect for us, would love to get him but expect he’ll do better than us now and cost £30m Quick, strong, good finisher, cost c £3m FFS, they are there if you look hard enough.
-
This is about right. We’ve conceded 15 goals in the last ten minutes this season costing us 16 points, terrible really. Panic sets in once we get out under a bit of pressure. No one with a Calm head to lead and organise the defence in that situation. Need to bring someone in as none of them there are up to it.

How dare you assume their gender!

Perhap people now understand why the second half of the season once Van Dijk was injured and Fonte had gone why Puel had to play with such a defensive set up? I made this exact point on TUI yesterday. Seen quite a few say he’d make a good defensive midfielder. I disagree, it’s one thing to carry the ball forward 15 yards from defence with the whole game in front of you quite another to use it effectively with tackles and pressingflying in from all angles in a 100 mph midfield battle. Part of the role of a decent defensive midfielder is reading of the game, anticipation and positioning, Sadly Stephens isn’t very good at either of these things so i don’t see him cutting it as a DM either. He’s a nice, decent footballer but I fear he will become what they used to call a utility player, one who fills in across a number of positions because they don’t have one good one.
-
This is about right, he’s a decent footballer but he’s not a decent defender. I’ve said this a few times before, part of the reason why there was a bit of a Stephens fan club (claims he was better than Harry McGuire!) was because he has ability on the ball which made some of fans think he is a class act. The fact is he isn’t a very good defender, his heading is weak, reading of the game and positioning are poor. He was thrown in at the deep end replacing Van Dijk with hardly any first team experience which was a bit unfair On the lad however in his two years in the first team squad he’s done little to prove he’s got what it takes to make it a a centre half of anything he’s gone backwards. I’d really like to see him do well but unfortunately don’t see it, maybe a move would be best for everyone but like you say no other premier league team would sign him as a centre back and he’s on too much money for the championship.

As they are on 32 points now they’d actually be on 29 if we’d beaten them. At the time you posted it we were on 15 points so our two wins and three draws which you said were all we needed would see us on 23 points level with Fulham and down already as we’d Get zero points from our last 4 games. 2 wins to stay up “100% on the money” one of the most embarrassing threads I’ve ever seen.
-
I thought you said back in December we only needed 2 more wins to stay up back then? so with 3 in our last 5 games this was done and dusted weeks ago. https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?60571-Only-two-more-wins-needed-to-stay-up#.XLzJzhrTWhA

United 2-0 down at Everton. Soljeskars record since getting the job permanently is abysmal. I would fancy Cardiff to get a result there is survival depended on it.

I noticed our own club has failed to wish Jewish people well celebrating the Passover yesterday. Why is that? The clubs PR department had tweeted happy Christmas, happy Ramadan, happy Eid, they’ve celebrated transgender day by flying trannie flag yet seem to be ignoring the Jewish special day. Antisemitism inside the walls of Southampton FC perhaps?

It’s a shame Harrogate town are away or I’d have met you for a pint, introduced you to the Harrogate Chaos Crew and let you experience the passsion of the Curva nord, Wetherby Road. However some other good games in the conference in the area, Gateshead v Chesterfield, Chesterfield will bring a few up the A1, Hartlepool v Halifax, or in the conference north Darlington v Bradford PA or York v Spennymoor.

Who are bombey? Come on pal, we couldn’t have wished for a better run in. with Newcastle win today it is literally every game against mid table teams with nothing to play for and if we really need it a home game on the last day against one of the worst top flight teams in history with the worst away form in the division. Cardiff on the other had have 6 games left, 2 away against direct relegation rivals, Liverpool home and man united away and Fulham and palace. Realistically 9 points form those six would be a great performance from them. If we can’t win two of our next six we don’t deserve to stay up.
