    Bad referees

I genuinely do think that at some point in the future there will be a big exposure of corruption in English football. Week after week we see it where the big clubs get decision over the smaller clubs. Not just saints but all clubs consistently get decisions go against them when playing the so called big six. Ever since the comment made by the chairman of the premier league that the primer league needs Man united to qualify for the champions league I’ve thought things weren’t right. Perhaps refs are taking back handers but I definitely think they are under pressure to make sure the bigger clubs do as well as possible.
  2. I’m not really sure why there is a moral dilemma when we are owned by a bloke who failed the fit and proper person test, they then had to close a loophole so people like him couldn’t buy a club again. Still, don’t really have an issue with a gambling firms sponsoring us providing they are paying enough, some people will argue that people get addicted to gambling but if you’re going to do it name on the front of your teams shirt or not isn’t going to make much difference. In any case where do you draw the line? Should clubs stop selling beer in case there are any potential alcoholics there? Should they stop seeking burgers and pies because a high percentage of our fans are obese? (Yes they probably should to be fair to stop people stuffing their faces but they won’t) drunkenness and obesity ruin lives too but I don’t see any moral dilemma about selling alcohol and crap food.
  3. What version is that on pal? I’ve only got up to 2016 on iPad and there is no option to send players to train on their own for rehabiltion on that version. Is it a new feature?
  4. Perfect fit for our business model. Whilst we should be proud Paul Mitchell has gone onto champions leagues clubs and been linked with man united dorector of football job he Was a downgrade on his predecessor, is probably cheap and also some on what’s got to wear Kruger’s old suits. Replicating what we’ve done on the pitch off it. I’m still wondering what’s happening to Les Reeds replacement. Kruger said they’d spilt the role out as one person couldn’t replace les but 5 months on not a whisper.
  5. seeing as how our accounts say nothing has changed, still self sustainable and there will be no injection of funds is it fair to say that Kathrinas statement on selling that Gao would take us to the next level was at best misleading then?
  6. Totally agree, it’s a tricky. The matey, friendly copper thing doesn’t work. On estates they hate the police, they don’t trust them and talk of gaining their trust is naive, in some places even outside of major cities police won’t even go there. The problem is youth culture has thrived on kids being the bad man, not being disrespected. The truth is it’s never been that different, there have always been groups of bad boys, the difference is now whereas before you’d get a black eye or a bust nose, now you’ll get a blade in your stomach. The only answer is zero tolerance. Anyone suspected of carrying a knife can be searched, if caught arrested, they inforce section 60s by the dozen at football on a weekend with no outcry about human rights. But then does that work? Most people in prison are proud of their crimes, forget all this nonsense about no one in prison is guilty, everyone is and not only are they guilt of what they’ve done but plenty more they never got caught for and how lucky they were for getting away with the sentence they got! However that requires a lot more rescource and a lot more prison spaces which we don’t have. It 100% friendly coppers earning trust, education by minor celebs or former criminals telling everyone how bad it is wont work.
  7. I’m bursting with pride on this great night for saints seeing 5 of our former players in the champions league. Really great to see it and testament to the strong roster we have and continue to have.
  8. My best mates son, who is 15 and a lovely lad, genuinely, not one of those kids who is a little sh|t but everyone says he’s a nice kid was in a situation recently. He’s from a good family, never been in trouble at all but He had somehow upset one of the school gangster type kids, who had apparently been wanting to Settle their differences telling everyone he was going to get it. Now in my day this would have been a fight outside the school gates which would have been broken up by teachers and the end of it. These days it isn’t like that, he is a big strong lad, can look after himself but he knew that this kid was a nasty little f8cker who has been known to carry a knife. so for his own protection, unbeknown to his parent, he took one to school too. Fortunately for everyone the “beef” never came to anything but it could have been very different, he gets attacked, gets stabbed or pulls out his own knife and stabs the other kid, another serious injury or god forbid death, he gets stabbed or a life sentence all due to one kid wanting to be a bad man or the other wanting to protect himself. I’m not condoning him carrying a knife to school but you can see why he did it, but that is how easy it is for kids to get into trouble. It’s all very easy for people to sit in their ivory towers saying how terrible it is but unless you’re there you’ve got no idea. Naturally his parents where devastated that he’d done that and what might have been but even more devastated that he felt he had too. To their knowledge he’s not done it since and swears blind he wouldn’t again. I don’t know what the answer is but no amount of police on the streets is going to stop that sort of behaviour and the way the whole gang culture and the gloryifying of it on social media is becoming in inner cities it’s only going to get worse.
  9. Well done Everton, a win would have been better but that’ll do. I Definitely heard the Everton fans singing “always rhe victims it’s never your fault” in the second half. How can this be? It’s a great city full of wonderful people with great commaradery between the two sets of fans who are all families and friends.
  10. I reckon it was one of these One Pierre Hojberg, there’s only one Pierre Hojberg Clap clap clap clap clap He plays in midfield he plays very well Peirre Hojberg thinks Pompey smell Clap clap clap clap clap Oh Pierre hojberg, Pierre hojberg He comes from Copenhagen He likes streaky bacon Pierre hojberg Clap clap clap clap clap clap To the tune of baby shark “Pierre hoj hoj hoj, hojberg” Clap clap clap clap Or it might have been our fans shouting “Pierrrrrrrrrre” Every time he touched the ball and p*ssing themselves and clapping themselves at their own wit

    Attendance

True but even before Bournemouth came up the coach loads of fans we were assured would be coming from Cirencester, Newbridge, Truro and burgess Hill for their fix of premier league football never seemed to materialise. I guess we were just unlucky in that our promotion coincided with an upturn in fortunes for Brighton, Swansea, Reading Bournemouth, Wolves and Cardiff as well which mean this massive catchment area we could tap into which went from Liverpool down to Birmingham, across to anything south of London and Essex was slightly diluted. Shame as they would literally Be right now having their noses pressed up against the windows of st Mary’s tickets office anxiously camping out hoping to get their mits the waiting list for the small release of general sale tickets for our massive home game against wolves in a months time.

    Attendance

Funny how the stadium expansion threads have stopped. Despite the fact that in our league days we were absolutely assured that as soon as we got ourselves back to the premier league we would easily sell out every week so we should expand, expand, expand because even if we didn’t sell out we could just give more tickets to away fans anyone who said it wasn’t nessasary was shouted down as having a “dell sized mentality” and all the posts about how other clubs were expanding and we’d be left behind. It’s almost like they lived in a word dominated by spreadsheets and computer games not reality.
  13. What was the name of that really fat bloke we had first season at St Mary’s who they got running on the pitch a few times for some sort of “entertainment”? I remember seeing him on the Jeremy Kyle show a few years later crying because he was so fat and his mum saying she didn’t help because she always let him eat what he wanted. Then there was the time we had that old bloke from Eastenders come on the pitch, WTF was the point of that?

    Next 5 Games

Fail to beat Fulham and we will be in the sh*t and probably be done. To get two or three points from Games against Fulham, Cardiff, Palace and Burnley is a joke. As I’ve said before and others have said what realistically is going to change even if we do manage to scrape survival? More of the same next year probably. No investment in the team, having to sell to buy players whilst the club make a healthy profit. Our better players sold off, we’re already being teed up for that in the summer with Kruger’s comments about Hojberg. Relegation is inevitable sooner or later under this lot. The January transfer window was a disgrace, what other club in a relegation battle would flog anything they could and not bring anyone in. It went almost as some predicted, a few links, a few bungled attempts to sign players, with post window articles about how we tried but it’s hard, other clubs didn’t want to sell. Funny how we don’t have any trouble selling players in January! I actually don’t care if we go down or not, we might have a few years of struggle but a clean sweep from top to bottom is what’s needed just like in 2009. The club is being run disgracefully and it’s an insult to the paying fans who pay sky high prices to be served up dross and bullsh*t week after week. They think we’re all stupid with their bulls.it PR, hashtags and flying trannie flags to be “inclusive”. From Gao down the club is a shambles and we deserve to go down. It’s just a shame that the ones that will pay for it are the back office staff at the club, there will be a series of redundancies as there was in 2005 and the three years after, whilst the likes of Jack Friggin Stephens pick up £48k a week, like cutting a £30k member of back office staff will somehow make a dent into what’s being paid out. And yet still come some defend the club, the investment, the running of it. They are The band that carried on playing whilst the titanic sank.
  15. That’s about the size of it mate. £46m of profit fron transfers in the last 5 years, the only club currently on the premier league to be in profit. Some of the lowest agent fees in that period and still some fans defend Shanghai Leisure Holdings. I remember in Lowes era then northam end chanting “spend some f*cking money” after another profitable sell. Time our fans showed that same backbone now. It’s when not if under Gao and we won’t be coming back any time soon either. Rumour has it the dwarf ***** didn’t even know you could be relegated from the premier league when he bought us, sums him up if true.
  16. What’s even more crazy is he came into the team when Van Dijk got injured and had pretty much stayed there. He is Van Dijks replacement however the club want to spin it. One of the worst centre halves we’ve ever had replaces one of the best, you can’t make it up. Yet we should keep on believing the party line that we HAVE to sell players before we can buy new ones. Anyway, at least we saved paying agents fees out for Van Dijks replacement.
  17. FFS another group to leap to be offended What’s wrong with what she’s said? It’s absolutely true. Funnily enough we’re yet to read too many cases where a woman decided she wants to be a bloke and wants to compete at top level in their chosen sport. There is a reason for that, they know they won’t be able too. I know it’s not their fault and I know we have to be kind to people with these mental illnesses these days and I’m sure they’ll find a cure for it eventually but until then They have to sort of get on with it. We have a paraolympics for physical disabilities so many he should have one for mentally ill too, we can include trannies in that and the upside is the ones that wish they were men will smash it out the park, you’re virtually guaranteed a medal, if they’re doubling with depression or anxiety it’ll kill two birds with one stone.
  18. Massive pressure on the Fulham game. Realistically we will be lucky to get more than one or two points from our other 3 games ahead, most likely none, whilst Cardiff have two winnable home fixtures and go into them on good form. Newcastle will beat Huddersfield then a massive game v Burnley, winners could make themselves as good as safe. Even if we beat fulham we’ll probably still be in the bottom 3 this time next week. The three cock ups at Burnley and home to palace and Cardiff could have done for us. We should be five points better off but for such pathetic late defending, whilst Ralph is a very good manager he doesn’t have the tools needed.
  19. True. Hassenhuttla style needs someone with a 15+ pace, aggression and stamina rating. Billy would be below this. Whilst his shooting stat would be around 13 not really high enough to make up for who he lacks in other areas. His adaptability score will also be quite low as he really can only play as a central striker so even though I signed him for Eastleigh when we went from the conference south to champions league winners in 9 seasons I had to let him go (to Newcastle for £29m) once we got to the premier league for the reasons stated above.
  20. Strange post but kind of sums up both Sues anger issues. Reacting like that to a post she can’t see, assuming it’s both about her and having a go at her when it’s nothing of the sort. What an ego. Still we all have our demons.
  21. My only experience of watching woman’s football wasn’t a good one. It was when I was on holiday in Italy a few years back. We wandered into the local town and noticed there was a full on women’s match going on. At first I was quite interested, the standard seemed reasonable enough and the game was being played in good spirit. However things soon went downhill. Playing for one of the teams was a middle aged English woman, whilst most of the women were quite talented she really didn’t have much of a clue what she was doing, she was a lot less fit than the others too. Probably the worst thing was though that she spent the entire game ranting at everyone, giving foul mouthed volleys of abuse at anyone that dared to challenge her, her team mates for questioning every misplaced pass, missed shot or late tackle, of which there were many. On several occasions too she berated the ref waving imaginary cards at him and demanding other players be sent off for the most innocuous of things. Despite all this she clearly thought she was a bit better than anyone else and strutted round the pitch like she owned it, to be blunt it was embarrassing, she really made an arse of herself but the worst thing was she didn’t seem to realise it.
  22. They seek him here, They seek him there His clothes don’t fit Dont wash his hair He likes to stand in silence and politely clap his hands He’s a dedicated follower of Southampton Oh yes he is, oh yes he is He thinks he is a super fan that’s hilarious And when you see his hooded top under his saints shirt He’s a dedicated follower of Southampton Oh yes he is, oh yes he is, His world is full of banter and selfies One week he’s in yellow the next he is in stripes He’s a dedicated follower of Southampton
  23. I always thought if it wasn’t for Dalian Atkinsons rather, Ron, he’d have never made it as a proffesional footballer.
  24. Yep pretty obvious we haven’t. The question is why? We are the only club to make a profit from transfers, we have relatively low agents costs, we reported a £43m pre tax profit last accounts, Cortese has been gone 5 years so we can’t really blame him anymore. We’ve been telling everyone who will listen for years what a well run club we are, yet we are the only club that has to sell players to buy new ones. It doesn’t all stack up does it.
  25. And there are still some that defend this by claiming the profit goes on bonuses, agents fees and other costs, almost like no other club has these things to pay, just us. In the same period of the last 5 years our agents fees were £20m according to the this link https://www.transferleague.co.uk/agent-fees-2013-14/agent-fees/agent-fee-comparison-table Yes it’s a lot, But it puts our agents fees as one of the lowest of all clubs who have been in the premier league the same period. So that argument doesn’t wash. Mike Ashley gets absolute hell from Newcastle fans for their lack of investment yet in the last 5 years they’ve spent £60m more than they’ve made from transfers and £13m more than us on agents fees. Yes we’ve had to sack 3 managers in that time, but so have Newcastle, Everton, Crystal Palace and Leicester to name just 4 and we’ve made money from Koeman and Pochetino leaving, so another argument that doesn’t wash. The fact we have this sell before we buy when we are the relegation zone and our last accounts showed a pre tax profit of £43m is insane.
