Mixed bag. Austin wasn’t a bad signing, £4m and was okay for the first 18 months. Caceres was clearly a good player of outstanding pedigree but for some odd reason he didn’t get a game. Djuricic and Elia were short term squad fillers who did what they were brought it to do. Forren was a poor signing and Carillo has been a disaster, the worst and weirdest signing in our history.
-
He has, he played there whilst he was on loan at Swindon I think it was. He was pretty crap. I really have no idea why people think he’d make a good defensive midfielder. It seems to be based on the fact has okay on the ball. It’s on thing to carry the ball ten yards with the whole game in front of you, quite another to do it in a central midfield battle with players flying in from all angles. Good defensive midfielders also need to be able to read the game and be very good positionally, Stephens isn’t much good at either. He’s simply not good enough.

Well that’s not true otherwise Puel would still be here. On paper he lead us to one of our greatest seasons ever. Yet fans wanted him out because they demanded more entertaining football. So it has everything to do with bow a attractive a team is, at least in our case.

We won’t bring anyone in There will be a few early rumours, then nothing, with a couple of released statements via the clubs chosen sources about how the market is difficult, how we need to shift players etc.

Richard Kitzbichler - new Asst Coach
Turkish replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Great! A new coach we can blame results on. The new Eric Black. -
Lots of good posters who don’t bother anymore and you can see why, yes?
-
Absolutely. It’s no secret who we want out, so why would a buying club not try to drive the deal on their terms, knowing full well there are other players available probably cheaper and without doubt better.
-
The club want too much money. See also Carillo. They don’t seem to realise we are not in a position of strength. We’ve become used to selling players we don’t want to sell that other clubs want to buy, now we have players we want to sell but no one wants. This weakens our position, whilst it’s admirable we’re trying to get the best deal we aren’t really in a position to call the shots, if we can’t get shot of them we end up,paying the a player a few million quid a year just to turn up for training 5 days a week.
-
He also had the advantage of playing behind one of the best centre back partnerships in the league in Fonte + Alderweirld/Van Dijk. If you ,look at our stats of shots per goals conceded in that period it was quite bad. Strange keeper. Had the odd brilliant game but as you point out for someone so big his command of the area was, to be blunt, awful. He was also suspect to shots low down which was obviously picked up on by the opposition. He always seemed to lack a bit of belief in himself, there is obviously a good player in there but for whatever reason has totally lost his way. The latest in a long line of British keepers to do well for a short time then a spectacular fall from grace. Carson, Kirkland, Robinson, Foster, green, Gordon, Hart, I’m sure there are more.

Interpreted as his move to Nice isn’t happening and he has nothing else on the table.

If only only everyone had such faith in him, what might have been...... https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?29040-This-is-Jonno-Quick-Fortes-moment

The sponsorless shirt is symbolic of his time here Part of the group but never part of the crowd. Unlike Billy Sharp I don’t see fans clamouring for him to have been given a chance In the premier league despite the same fans demanding pace and aggression as a prerequisite of any signing, Something jonno quick had in abundance. What could Ralph do with him? Who knows? One this is for sure he wouldn’t contribute less than Elyounoussi did for a lot more cash...

Quite. Laziness is linked to Obesity. It’s no surprise that the queues for burgers are full of people who are overweight.
-
There is even an option 6. Deliveroo. Get them to meet you when you arrive home or in Southampton. To be Blunt there really is no excuse to eat at football these days.
-
My “perfect scenario” is no such thing. It just involves people not taking the lazy option of going for the stuffing a crap, overpriced burger down your throat as this is what you perceive to be the only option to you. Other options include Pub option: Leave work early and go to a pub for some food. Most people have flexible working these days if you don’t time to find a new employer. Work from home:, see above re flexible working, cook your own dinner whilst tapping on skype for business every 5 mins to look like you are working Healthy option: Precook then reheat a healthy option meal, add some steamed veg, kale or spinach a reheated chicken breast takes 4 minutes, ready in 10 you can eat that in 10 minutes and at the game only 20 minutes laters and still in time for kick off Take away option: As you walk to the ground park near a chippy, dozens on route on way to SMS, eat while you walk Don’t eat option: intermittent fasting of c16 hours is proven to burn fat, repair damaged cells, regulate blood sugar levels and give you a general feeling of wellbeing. If you have a late lunch then don’t eat again until breakfast you’ll have fasted for the recommend period of time leading to better you So the choice is yours pal, have a burger in the ground and die early, or find an alternative route. Depending on your lifestyle and willpower it’s up to you but I’d go for options 3 or 5.

Sad news as he has announced his retirement due to injury. A saints legend for those 3 minutes v MK Dons all those years ago. More famous for his nickname and Adkins introductory intro than his time at saints, aside from those goals. “When they tell me a player is quick, I always ask them ‘is he jonno quick?’ He he’s that ball he runs and sometimes he’s unplayable” good old Nig and good old Jonno Quick. Enjoy your retirement, a saints legend.

for just an additional £85 you can buy a ticket for the Gas Works bar where you can enjoy some premier league class hospitality. 35 screens showing Sky sports, a free pint of lager to enjoy whilst you exercise your opportunity to purchase from the American diner menu. why wouldn't you do it?
-
So would I, plenty of places to get something much better then a microwaved burger that’s been sitting in a kiosk for hours.
-
I’ve never really understood the reason why people need to stuff their faces at football anyway. The only times it’s remotely acceptable is a lunchtime kick off game where I appreciate some people might have been in the pub from 11 or gone straight to the ground. For your standard 3pm or 7.45pm kick off WTF do people feel the need to eat as much as possible as soon as they get near the ground? You don’t decided on a working day at 3.45 to nip down to the burger bar down the road so why do people need to do it at half time, especially when the food is by and large utter crap. Same with an evening game, 7.45 or 8pm is pretty of time to eat beforehand if you really have to. It’s no wonder we’ve got so many fatties in our fan base when they stuffing their faves every weekend with poor quality burgers, hot dogs and beers. SMS is a diabetes epidemic waiting to explode, they should start playing videos of various diets and the danger of obesity inside SMS at half time rather than the pointless entertainment, it might at least save a few lives.
