  1. Do go on. Anything Specific?
  2. Yeah I’ll be there Do for every game probably one in three over the season, it’s just been announced for the Monday night live on BT. They’ve got aldershot tomorrow and are unbeaten in the last 8 after a tricky start. They’ve redeveloped the ground a fair since you’re last visit id image, 4G pitch, more seats and terracing to take the capacity up to 4,000. I really enjoy it there, pay on the gate, terracing, get a beer at half time and stand where you want in the ground. Like how it used to be.
  3. What an absolutely ridiculous signing this was, surely got to be up there with the worst signings ever by any club. THis isn't even hindsight talking looking at his track record 26 years old and had only ever scored more than 10 goals in a season once, in the Argie league, signed by a manager who the Chairman openly admitted they'd considered sacking several times before the signing, then they did a few weeks later, he was never going to be the answer. For £5m he might have been worth a gamble but £20m just incompetence.
  4. My local team, go to watch them a fair bit. Good side, play good football and after a patchy start have hit good from. Plus it’ll be on a plastic pitch, Town don’t lose many at home. They will give them a game for certain.
  5. In my view it’s quite simple. 4-5 years ago When we made signings like Tadic, Van Dijk, Mane etc they all cost £10-£15m. Top players cost £40-£50m. We were shopping in the potentially good but unproven market. Since then transfer values have rocketed, top players cost £80-£100m, so it figures that what once cost £10-£15m, now cost £25-£30m, yet we are still shopping in the £15m market but this means that these players are at least a level down from the ones we used to get. Of course we might get lucky now and and again, Djenepo looks like he has something but we’re back to the days when we were signing the likes of Jelle Van Damme, Michael Nileson and Jaconsen where because the club had had success a couple of years previously with Niemi, the Svensons, And so on in that price bracket they forgot that prices go up and you have to pay more To get the same level. If Wilson and Reed were part of the problem I don’t know but if it’s because they’ve only been allowed to spend this amounts from Goa and Kat then they are the problem.
  6. Oh really, is he the assistant manager? I thought he was just another coach.
  7. He desperately needs an assist. Davis and Watson are goalkeepers and inexperienced and Fleming is a novice at this level too. Plus they have all Been here years and will have their mates in the dressing room. He needs someone from outside with experience to help, Not a jobs for the boys coach. Looks like the decision not to replace Rohl is bad one.
  8. A similar thing happened to a mate of mine, he isn’t racist at all, in fact he’s got a couple of black friends. He was at a game a while back and when a black player went down for an extended period of time recieving treatment he shouted out “give him a banana” immediately people lept to the conclusion he was racially abusing the player and he was arrested. Down into the cells he was able to give a reasonable account of what he meant and explain that many sports people use bananas for recovery due to their excellent nutritional value, he cited Andy Murray, serena Williams and roger Federer as high profile sports people who had won major tennis titles whilst refuelling on a banana between sets in tennis and this is what he was suggesting here. Unfortunately, despite presenting a whole host of information on the effect a banana to the magistrate the narrow minded police and courts didn’t believe his version instead banning an innocent man from football for 3 years but this is another case where people seem to very quick to assume racism when it is no such thing.
  9. I get the feeling one day it might be used in a court case....
  10. Can you not see there might be a difference between sexually assaulting a 6 month old baby and a 30 year old person?
  11. Are you serious?
  12. Whatever happened to sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me?

    Bob Higgins

It doesn’t seem that way at all. He resigned a week after it came out with the club reporting him to the police where he was taken to court and acquitted. Not saints fault the courts didn’t do their job the first time round or that 5 other people didn’t come forward at the trial

Yes I remember that, I think it was when Tripper was at Burnley, that would have been some back four.
  15. The echo said we are looking for a player trading expert. One person stands out head and shoulders above all the others. Currently unemployed which we love. Knows the club really well having worked here before and his son play for us. Has many years experience of player trading earning his the moniker of being a bit of a wheeler dealer in the transfer market. Is on friendly terms with the media so will boost our image on that. Lives locally too so wouldn't need to relocate. It all fits perfectly in place especially has he has unfinished business with this proper football club, Welcome Back Harry.

Surely if anything that proves Mitchell’s weaknesses. Alderwierld was proven in the premier league, he’s also performed well in the Spanish league and champions league he’d had a good season under his belt with is as well as being a full Belgian international. Whilst van dijk was becoming a regular fixture in the Dutch team he was very much an unproven quantity in a top league. Mitchell opted to sign what long term proved to be the wrong man for Spurs. He went for the safe, more expensive option.

Don’t be so ridiculous. We all know Reed was only responsible for the bad signings, all the good ones were down to someone else.
  18. A Southampton based song for you all to sing when there is a VAR decision to the tune of artful dodgers rewind. Re, re wind When the decision goes to VAR Rejecta
  19. I was looking for a centre back and I found Wes Hoedt and heaven knows im miserable now I was happy with Fonte and Virgil Van dijk Bu heaven knows im miserable now In my defence why do they give valuable time to people who cant head a ball coming down from the sky??
  20. No surprise really, further up the thread we said what an absolute rip off it was and it would fail. The market just isn't there at Saints for this sort of thing. They be much better off just making it a members bar.
  21. I like it. Valery, Valery, if you don't run you'll get a kick up the bum from our Yan Valery. Valery, Valery etc....
  22. So Kat is surprised that a Chinese bloke who has been linked to an execution, had to take out a state loan to buy her property and they had to change the rules so someone like him could never buy a football club again broke his promise to her?
  23. It’d be interesting to see what happens if it did. It’s great for top teams now where they win every week. But the likes of Chelsea, man united and arsenal would all be near the bottom of the table in any European super league with their current teams. How enthusiastic would their fans be after seeing them team being smashed week in week out only winning a handful of times a season.
  24. There’s your issue, we don’t. Playing in the same league Is not the same as competing with. Yes we might scrape the odd win against the top teams but the reality is we’re a million miles away from the days when big clubs hated coming to Southampton and we’d give them a game. It’s probsbly one of the easiest away trips of the season with our Chinese tourist, selfie taking, vlogers. My only issue with relegation is we’d be screwed financially, goa is the Chinese mike Ashley only wanting to spend the bare minimum to survive, If we go down it’d be back to,the Lowe days. I feel sorry for Ralph, a decent guy and good manager hamstrung by mistakes of the past and dodgy owners. The sad thing is if we like it or not relegation is inevitable sooner or later.
  25. I would us to get this going
