Not even a slight opinion or gut feeling? From what I've seen he is poor. Presumably we didn't expect him to play as much as he has needed to.
-
Very strong. Kind of suprised Mane starts but fair enough. Interesting for the second season in a row the sub keepers arent even considered good enough to even play cup games - but thats the reality! One negative - no youngsters considered good enough to even make the bench ahead of Ramirez.
-
How do you rate Cuco Martina so far from what you have seen? Decent signing?
-
Would also give Mane a total rest. He will be vital over the course of the season, and gives Juanmi a chance in his best position.
-
They are probably confused with Clasie.
-
Not sure. There isn't much recovery time and there is obviously an issue with him physically that they are keen to build up his game time and not overdo it. Wouldn't be suprised if Martina plays RB. Similar with Bertrand, not sure if he is in the frame for Saturday, but I guess not if he plays tomorrow.
-
Given Cedric didnt really play the European games and has been subbed after 70mins a couple of times I wonder if he starts tomorrow if it is a sign he won't on Saturday?
-
Ridiculous that it is considered violent conduct. Two yellows and one match, definitely. Good for us though.

Lovely finish Hesketh
-
Yeah he went to Sheff Wed and found it a lot tougher than the U21s. Probably won't make it with us but would be a good player in Champ/L1 I imagine.
-
Bertrand off at HT. Plan was for him to play 60 but if Targett is injured perhaps he may feature on Wednesday?
-
Its also because the very best U21s arent playing in the league. This football gets a player so far but most will need a loan to adapt to proper mens football. Seager for example will probably score every game at this level. Send him to Swindon and if he scores 1 in 3 for them he might make it for us at some stage.
-
Yeah he has looked good in possession. Hopefully can start Saturday.
-
About three times already in this thread! Just saying the U21s football is a lot different in that they have space to play and the defences are pretty poor. We are playing some great football attacking wise, of course but goals are given away a lot easier than in the first team. All 5 goals have been due to poor defensive play of some kind.
-
Largely both defences and centre mids are easy to run by though, it has to be said. Both teams so much more open than a pro mens team would set up.
-
Seager is a great penalty area striker. Whether for Saints or elsewhere he will score stacks in his career.
-
Lovely goal Reed. Counter attack from a poor Reading pass.
-
Ludicrous tackle from Bertrand, absolutely smashing someone in the 5th minute. Booked. Could have been a red in some ways.
-
56 seconds for the first Reed foul near the edge of his own box.

Van Gaal: "I brought Darmian off because he gave Tadic too much space and Tadic was the main danger in the first half". When we were well on top Tadic was influential. He faded, like the whole team but I thought the last two home games he has been more like the start of last season.

Cedric in our League games this year: Newcastle: Subbed off after 45mins for Martina Everton: Played 90mins Watford: Played 90mins (but not at RB in a back 4) Norwich: subbed off for Martina after 72mins West Brom: subbed off for Yoshida after 75mins Man Utd: didnt play, Yoshida picked So of our 6 games, in 4 of them we have ended the game without Cedric on the pitch. Similar story in the Europa League. We replaced a proven consistent performer with a good player but for whatever reason he isnt being trusted or isnt physically ready. I expected we would replace Clyne with someone inferior but at least with someone who would start and finish the majority of games when fit. Martina has ended up featuring in 3 league games when he was surely intended to be a cover player we would rarely see.

Wanyama and the St.Marys crowd ...boo or cheer ?
Saint Charlie replied to manina-pub's topic in The Saints
Neither really. Certainly not booed. -
When Paul Mitchell went to Spurs the line on here was we wouldn't miss him. The reality is that it certainly won't have helped.
-
Probably because we got no points, have won 2 of our last 12 PL games, lost due to an error from a CB playing instead of the RB we signed to replace Clyne and went missing for 35mins after conceding a goal allowing a 45 pass move with virtually no attempted tackles to result in their 3rd goal. We should have got something but ruined it for ourselves with odd selections, too much tinkering and terrible defending. We have conceded 3 at home twice in three games this season and are 16th having only played two decent sides out of 6 games. Thats why. I think.
