  2. Newcastle hope to sign Austin by end of next week. http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892/transfer-zone/2015/06/12/12655412/newcastle-closing-in-on-austin-signingutm_source=TW&utm_medium=en_gb&utm_campaign=austinnewcastle They are also interested in Carroll, Dost and Juanmi.
  3. They have been charged with breaking Agent regulations, that is between the Agent and Arsenal.
  4. Sky Sources: Newcastle in talks with Austin's agent.
  5. Its most likely nothing to do with Saints.
  6. Anyone good enough to be called up by Spain (as Costa withdrew), is still only 22 and plays regularly in La Liga is worth a look for £5m. Maybe another Ayoze Perez type who did really well for Newcastle.
  7. Looks a good player and anyone who gets called up to a Spain squad, is under 25, plays regularly in La Liga and is available for about £5m is worth looking at.
  8. Slime green. Darker green would be so much better. Probably the worst away since the white one we could never wear. But its just a kit so doesnt really matter. Odd that the club have edited the pic on the OS to make it seem a different shade of green than it actually is.
  9. The heavily edited version in that OS picture is nice...
  10. Why is anyone even comparing them?!
  11. He is said to be desperate to leave behind Champions League football and has already told friends he would turn down the rumoured interest of Arsenal to join the fastest growing sports brand of Southampton FC
  12. Micah Richards set to join Villa on a free.
  13. Utter madness. But with those wallies in charge not at all suprising.
  14. Song doesn't fit Saints usual transfer target MO I don't think. As an aside, the West Ham Board love to chat. If they signed half the players they talk about (or Sullivans teenage Son tweets about) they would be a top 4 side. Much prefer our more professional approach. Yesterday when they signed Obiang from Sampdoria David Gold tweeted a pic of him welcoming the lad to the Club. Apart from it wasn't Obiang. It was Angelo Ogbonna.
  15. No downer. Just think there are probably better players out there (look at the clubs linked with him). Can see why people want him of course, but I'm just not sure he is what we need. A few weeks ago Collymore was asked about Austin on Talksport and said he wasnt England quality (probably right and he didnt get on the friendly vs Ireland despite lots of players being unavailable) and that he thought he would go to a midtable PL side. Someone specifically mentioned Saints and he said he thought we would be aiming for better. We also have Jay back so already have him, Pelle and Long as strikers. Unless we sell one of them I don't see us needing Austin hugely, as we only ever use one striker.
  16. Would be a good signing for next year too IMO. Hit and miss and high economy rate but the Championship rewards wins and he is the only Hants bowler capable of running through a side when on form. He hasnt played a lot of red ball cricket for a while so still finding form too.
  17. Anyone else not really that fussed if we sign Austin or not? All seems quite speculative at this stage rather than confirmed offers having gone in (from anyone) too.
  18. That is great to watch. With his pace and finishing ability I hope he gets some chances up front as well ss coming in from the left.
  19. Ayew on 70k a week st Swansea apparently. With this new TV deal that is bound to happen, PL clubs can overpower others in Europe financially.
  20. Sounds very close. Would think it also brings to a close Clyne's time at Saints as Krueger has been clear we won't spend loads this summer and an Intl RB who has played in the Champions League surely doesn't sign for €7m and only play bit part. We should get a decent replacement for Clyne and have money to spend on other players, including another RB who is happy to be a backup/cup player.
  21. Totally different players, expected to do different things for their teams.
  22. Yes but just because it is on their official website it doesn't mean they wrote it. A hacker could have put it there to disrupt the summer plans of Southampton FC. Please don't try to report something MLG hasn't already seen.
  23. Too many copy and paste crooks about in the world of Journalism.
  24. His price would easily be 30m with his age, potential, goal return as a non striker, so wouldn't be worried by any interest. He scored a hattrick in a friendly against Bayern for Salzburg so they will have doubtless been following his progress for a while.
  25. He won't sit on the bench, he is a really good player (as any Saints fan knows).
