They are more bothered about Mancini, Platt, Pellegrini etc.

Sure Nicola will be there tonight.

Apart from this time he has reported what Cortese has told him. I don't doubt the source, its just the motivations that are unclear.
-
Sounds from the reports like some of the Liebherr heirs think they could run the club better than Cortese. It doesnt seem like it is money related specifically from any of the reports, its about control and there arent many Chairman that have 100% control of PL clubs.
-
Disagree. Cortese is the driving force behind the club. We have a chance to do something decent for a change. Letting him leave is an admission we lack ambition.
-
Chill, just reporting what he said. Also says he would be very optimistic about our future if Cortese stays as have a decent budget for summer and European ambitions but says owners are 'flaky' and he suspects ownera heirs have taken bad advice. Cortese just wants stability. Seems NC just wants to know the owners will back him to get on with it.
-
Tony Evans, the Times writer who broke the story just said Saints fans should be worried. Said he rates Cortese very highly and so do some other club owners - clearly he won't be left unemployed for long. Also says for him to stay there would need to be a significant change and losing Cortese would be a massive blow to Saints.
-
This. Very much this.
-
But why did Markus invest in the first place. If he put plans together with NC then surely the Trust should do everything to achieve those in his name.

-
Judging by this thread most people have been supporting Cortese though?
-
Which is basically saying that Cortese is/was over ambitious for Saints and the Liebherr's wouldn't match him.
-
Exactly...
-
Fair comment, but as a fan would be a risky swap given Cortese's publically stated ambitions. Perhaps the family do not feel they are achieveable, although that would be slightly bizarre - they have been known for a while and they had ample opportunity to reign in NC before now.
-
Thats so naive. Where do you think the drive and direction has come from? Its all from Cortese since ML passed. Not from the Liebherr family.
-
Clearly the story is true and most likely come from NC himself. What it doesn't mean is that he will go or wants to, infact he remains very much committed and ambitious as ever, it is posturing of some kind, some reason that we don't quite know.
-
Clearly the source is NC himself, no? So definitely reliable that he is considering his future. Becuase he is also still committed it is sensible to suggest NC wants this out in the public domain...
-
He did an interview with Pochettino a couple of weeks ago for football focus. No published interview with NC. He also used to work for the Times which is where this story came from. Clearly there is also a difference between NC "considering his future" and "NC is leaving". At this stage he is "considering his future".
-
Adam Blackmore from Solent reckons if NC left the "replacement would have to be a high calibre operator" and I agree - certainly someone better than decent, otherwise its a massive backwards step.
-
Its funny because players always say they don't know what goes on in the boardroom etc but ex players seem to know everything.
-
Cope reckons "any half decent CEO could match NC". Hmmm.
-
IMO Cortese wouldn't struggle to find another job in football. Maybe not in England but his work will not have gone unnoticed.
-
He used to work on the Saint radio in the Lowe days. It is funny all these journalists "understanding" things now that the BBC/Times have reported stuff but yesterday they probably "understood" nothing. I will trust the BBC/Times source more than a twobob journalist.

Wonder who these few calls are to. This guy not exactly a big fish in the world of journalism. He has basically concluded what many of us have and I doubt knows any more than that.
