  1. Lets face it. You know absolutely nothing about the effort we went to to sign anyone, who other targets were, reasons they didn't come off, offers we made, offers we rejected for our own players etc. Nobody does. Apart from the small proportion reported in the media. To say things like "I do think we should have put more time and effort into getting some more players we desprately needed" is pointless because you don't know the time nor effort we put in. Knowing of Cortese and Adkins what we do, and how far the club has come I doubt they were twiddling thumbs this summer. Even Adkins said the other day he had no summer holiday. Players sign or not for loads of reasons - to say its because we should have put "more time and effort" into it is poor and unintelligent IMO.
  2. An injury would be fatal if we don't strengthen? Absolutely. Will we strengthen? Yes Anything to worry about? No
  3. That guy is actually a genuine coach but yes, they help around the training ground and act as translators/helpers for certain players to help them settle. Pretty reasonable really.
  4. If we had signed a back up left midfielder instead of Jay Rod you would have been the first moaning about our lack of depth up front and the fact we spuked millions on a back up to Lallana who is always a sub. Fact is - all teams try to strengthen and some do better than others. A lot of teams fared worse than us in the transfer market this summer! QPR, Reading, Villa, Liverpool, Newcastle, Fulham to name a few.
  5. Why would Tessem or Claus be involved in Everton transfers?
  6. If you can find Jacinta Ela Eyena then you will find Javi nearby (and probably a signed photo of Javi de Pedro).
  7. Could we be looking at Gary Alexander as backup for Rickie? Combative, experienced striker who could be worth a shout coming off the bench. Goal record of better than 1 in 4 across his career.
  8. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11671/8273353/Everton-boss-David-Moyes-watched-Molde-defender-Vegard-Forren-in-action-on-Thursday
  9. Carsten Jancker has been outside St Marys for seven years whilst his transfer is being ratified.
  10. SSN are only interested in the transfers that happen between two huge prem clubs like Stoke and Liverpool for the transfer of world class players like Charlie Adam, who fans could not believe in their wildest dreams they would ever get to see play for their club. The summer window deadline day was Charlie Adam day.
  11. At the end of the day there is still quite a long time before the Villa game, then we have Everton on the Monday night the 21st. If we had a couple of new boys for Everton it still gives us 18 days to do some deals.
  12. For 70k a week I would want a bit more than what he offers which is mostly injury. These days when fit he isnt as good as Lallana IMO. His time was 3 or 4 years ago. If he was on lower wages then worth a shot, but not at that kind of money.
  13. Benayoun is an attacking midfielder and they have Oscar, Mata, Hazard, Marin, Moses and Piazon so safe to assume he won't get a look in.
  14. West Ham sent him back because he is injury prone and on about 70k a week. We are more likely to recall Forecast and play him at left back than sign Benayoun.
  15. Not sure, I know he had been doing some coaching for Saints in the Community. Basically he is a Spanish football coach who is mainly there to be a translator for Gaston. Nice guy - helping out on the training ground rather than coaching the team. He has been helping in the warm up the last few games.
  16. Madness. That was a truely awful signing by them. If it was a foreigner it would probably go down as one of the worst and most costly in history.
  17. I think he is going on a free transfer not on loan. No way he will have dropped from 90k to 30k, especially when he still had time on his Liverpool contract.
  18. Joe Cole allegedly on 90k a week. He has a lot to prove. Ita not 2005/06 now. He shouldnt be the top earner at any Prem team.
  19. And so far we have won double the matches they have, including one where we battered them at their own ground.
  20. Five points is nothing, there are teams above us too that are catchable.
  21. Not while we keep spuking leads.
  22. Redknapp: 'We might take the lad who has been training with us, Tal Ben Haim'.
  23. Way to secure staying up is to finish above Wigan, Villa and Reading. Then what QPR do or don't do is irrelevant. One result doesn't turn a poor team into a good one.
  24. I'm calm. You are the one who called this a 'disastrous result'.
  25. Was their first win versus a top 4 team. They stayed up 5 years without winning one of those fixtures. You said you have to win at least one. Usual bed wetting ******** from you.
