It is - but if a Chairman like Cortese couldnt recoup the money on a player like Ramirez he would be pretty woeful. He is clearly worth what we paid for him. Any Prem team who is interested knows they would get a player who has adpated to the League. Besides, NC is probably confident we will stay up. But IMO we could easily make 30m plus on the first day after any relegation by selling a few players. We have lots of players teams would want.
-
Of course we can, anyone can. However - anyone who can't see our approach is better than WH or QPR is from the Mongo Jerry school of thinking. Are you a Mongo Jerry?
-
We have no hope of signing anyone good if our clubs reputation and the Southampton Way hasnt travelled to Italy. IMO Les Reed should be on that ship back to Italy spreading the word.
-
I've got a Standard Liege Oppo but he hasn't ever played for them.
-
This would be tolerable and IMO would please nearly everyone. If he shows he can debate properly then give him full member status the next month.
-
First proper story on this one. Love these Italian stories, they all sound similar or maybe its just the funny translations. Not suprised that he hasn't dreamed about playing for Saints, money and opportunities talk however...
-
Anyone seen much of him to know what type of CB he is?
-
But I have him on ignore and still have to read his drivel because everyone quotes him all the time. Ignore doesn nothing. He ruins threads - cap him to 3 posts per day.

At the end of the day, the Owners of the board decide what they want to do. If they dislike someone's behaviour or feel they lessen the discussion quality then they can act as they want to. The fact that 80% of the members who pay their fee would agree then that surely is important to them, as any Customer feedback would be.

-
Apart from he left for free. This would be a min fee clause that says if someone offers what we paid then we will sell. The wages obviously help but we seem to be able to attract good players!
-
So basically Ramirez and Astori have/would have a release clause in the event of relegation meaning we would let them go if we get our money back. Sounds fair enough. Imagine thats standard, but a good idea and helps to entice the player.

I support this motion: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?42210-Time-to-do-the-right-thing-mods -
I do agree with this. At least for a temporary time. I have had AS on Ignore for a while now (probably a year or so) but it does nothing because he has a habit of taking over so many threads (look at his post count) that you end up seeing the tosh he writes anyway. I certainly feel for someone like him that a three posts per day cap would be excellent when he returns from his ban. At the end of the day, most of us pay money to use this forum, and if a poll was conducted Im sure 80+% would support some sort of ban.

Ive already outlined all the points above (and on the other thread) which mostly you ignore. See what S-Clarke says - its the truth. You ignore any evidence or argument someone else makes and keep pedalling illogical agendas with nothing to validate it. I won't ever be responding to a post of yours again, and would urge others to do the same. I do hope you get some enjoyment out of the season and especially this transfer window. COYR. Amen to this: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?42210-Time-to-do-the-right-thing-mods

Haha - you are an absolute wally

Sad to lose one of our best players but hopefully some cash so we can qualify for Europe again: http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11668/8384281/Chelsea-are-closing-in-on-the-signing-of-Metalist-Kharkiv-midfielder-Taison

Low ambition? I am pretty pleased with the players we have been linked to and the kind of money we are looking to spend. I do realise however, that the better the player, the more options they tend to have including some bigger clubs than ours and that these things take time. Seeing as today is Monday and there is still 4 whole days before Villa and then 13 before Everton I am not overly concerned. If we are 1 or 2 points behind Villa in May then it won't be because we didn't get a centre back in before this game.
-
Re 3m - even if its 1m it isnt worth paying over the odds for one extra game. Not long ago we were signing players for 200k - you can't just chuck money around willy nilly. These are multi million pound deals with many parties involved, not Football Manager on PC. I would suggest its fairly complicated, and that its not a disaster that on the 7th Jan we havent signed anyone. I would also suggest you have no idea how complicated a football transfer might be.
-
Lol. Is it worth paying say 3m more for a player just so he can play vs Villa? Clearly not. These are complicated deals. Its the 7th Jan and we have not played a League game since the window opened properly. We have bids in for players who sounds very good but NC knows what he is doing - he signed Ramirez when nobody thought it was possible, and that was a blooming complicated deal.

So far one game of the window (a cup game) has "slipped by". We have offers in, it takes two to do a deal. You think NA is paying lip service? Expected that response. Much better to ignore what our Manager has said about the recruitment meeting happening in advance of the window, on the record, and instead think that the club are sitting around not doing much (because that fits with your argument). No wonder nobody takes you seriously. -
He was part owned by Milan and Cagliari for a while then fairly recently Cagliari bought out their share.
-
The Italian reports on Friday said we had agreed terms with Astori, but the negotiations with Cagliari were ongoing.

Quote Adkins before the Chelsea game: You can't just keep making up bull****. Lets face it, you know absolutely nothing about what is happening behind the scenes (as do none of us) and choose to ignore any evidence or quotes that don't back up what you say. We had a recruitment meeting way in advance of the window opening, have made enquiries and offers for players. Some very good ones. These things always take time because many clubs, agents and the player are involved. Be patient. But stop spouting rubbish that you have zero evidence of. Unless you are part of the transfer committee? -
Thanks for sharing. If AL could be back for the Wigan game that would be good, but I suspect it will be mid Feb earliest.
