Interesting debate. With games coming thick and fast, especially the addition of the Chelsea one then there is an argument for it, but then be could get thumped which wouldnt be good for anyone. Key part is not to risk players with niggles or where we have no cover, but play a strong side full of players at a high level of arousal.

Agree - Boruc only brought in because Davis was so woeful. The fans that abused him in the Chapel are as much to blame for where we are in the league as any transfer dealings though. If he had got a run of games he would be flying now IMO.

Good point. The key unknown is the funding side of it. Pretty clear you can't really become a settled top half team psuhing consistently into Europe without continued investment in the playing squad. But nobody really knows how much money we have access to, and that is the key point.

A lot depends how Boruc plays the next couple of matches IMO. He might prove to be decent once he gets a little run as on paper is a very competent and experienced goalie.

There is no news as yet, but agree the discussion has tailed off into a general transfer chat thats is probably best elsewhere or not at all. Mind you, we probably won't sign Astori anyway, will end up buying another striker because we don't put enough time or effort into transfer dealings.

Stoke have had a 12m striker on the bench for the last month. Reading had 60k a week Pog on the bench for most of the season. They would probably laugh more if we dropped Lambert to play Rodriguez just because of his transfer fee.
