  1. Would it be better to go through negotiations and sign a player when we weren't fully happy with it just to come across better?
  2. Competitive with the other teams that have come up (who I already think we are better than) and then the weaker teams that were already in the League. That is what any promoted team has to do. Not sure where the additional 6 players comes from. We have signed 4 and think we would have wanted 6 or 7 in the window, so that leaves another 2 or 3 which is about right. We have quantity, need to add a couple of bits of genuine qualtiy which im sure Adkins is well aware of, and he has said it enought times in interview including in the Echo this morning:
  3. Agree as always. In an ideal world we would have strengthened a little more but as long as we get a CB and wide man then we will be competitive.
  4. Also shows that a transfer deal isn't as easy at it appears on Football Manager - they take time to put together and have lots of dependencies.
  5. Obviously not then. For that kind of money there are better players around I think.
  6. Not sure personally that he is worth any more than 6m but for british players the market is crazy, and he did get 8 league goals last season from out wide.
  7. Ollie Lancashire is looking good in the reserves. Never dives into rash challenges.
  8. Personally don't rate Rose from the little I've seen of him but he has pace, and if we want him we clearly want more pace at full back. Not sure he is overall any better than Fox though. Obviously a this is only an enquiry, seems sure we want a left sided player though.
  9. Quotes from Martin O'Neil today which i think sums up the realistic nature of the transfer market - some on here could take note...
  10. What happened in that game was that we took a striker off and brought a defender (maybe Harding) on to play. Everyone pushed back. Their defence had the ball and kept moving forward. Cork went forward to close them down (as we had nobody further up) and it was Cork's space that the Norris shot came from. The danger of sitting back too much.
  11. Its cringy. Combined with the Moose from Talksport its not a great look, certainly very unprofessional.
  12. Probably just the "Do you like arse" comment - don't think it was necessary. Lets just agree to disagree on pretty much everthing to do with football at the moment haha!
  13. Personally didn't notice he tailed off, and as I say he was immense in the Palace game which was huge in our season - probably his best performance of the whole campaign. Shame is out injured. As for the last comment - I am just having a debate with you on a football forum. I am probably commenting a lot because I don't agree with lots of the points you are making, but each to their own and no need for comments like that (which are probably classified as homophobic)
  14. Cork had some great games in the second half of the season. He was superb at Palace especially. Not sure how he has got worse over the summer break?
  15. Im saying that our amount is still one of the highest in the list. West Ham's is ridiculous. We do what is needed but don't chuck pointless money to agents.
  16. zzzz because last years agents fees are apparantly the reason we havent signed anyone this week or that the Buttner deal has stalled.
  17. Crystal Palace spend much more than us on Agents. Don't remember too many quality players that they signed. Or WH really? Certainly not any which weren't already known, in which case what has the agent actually done, its not like he has brought an unknown quality player to your attention?
  18. Would be better if we spend millions on agents, more than on players. I would feel much happier about our transfer dealings if our agents fees were higher. In reality - IMO high agent spend shows that they are the ones in control of the deals not the club. A WHU fan reading this should be worried that the club are letting agents have this much of a say in transfers. If Saints miss out on a deal because they won't pay an agent ridiculous sums then Im happy with that.
  19. These are nearly all about the top 4 anyway. Just sit tight.
  20. Sky had linked us with him a while back as well so likely we were interested. If it was us that went back in for him then it shows we are still working but wonder how far down our list of choices we are?
  21. Its true, apart from the fact that when you bring a player in on big money that has an impact on the other players - who either want parity, or it could cause issues within the squad. For example if I was Lallana I would go to Cortese and say "Hey I could have left at any point in L1, stayed loyal, socred goals to get us promoted - if this guy is on 50k I want that too." And then what if a really class player becomes available for 70k a week...its only an extra 20...go on...
  22. Optimistic about the season but my point is that any team would be fearful of playing City with the players they have. Asking whther we should be worried going in with Fonte and Hooiveld is pointless. Ask the same question about the Wigan game.
  23. Ask the same to a Man Utd fan with Rio and Vidic at the back. Or Chelsea with Cahill and Terry. Am I confident? No Would I be confident with two new CBs? No Will it be the end of the world if we lose 4-0? No.
  24. Can be so many reasons, including the fact that every now and again someone does hit a good shot. I would suggest this isn't in our top 40 concerns at the moment.
