  1. Sister thread to the other one, name the seven worst permanent Saints Managers in your lifetime (there should be a fair few to select from). 1. Wigley 2. Branfoot 3. Sturrock 4. Redknapp 5. Gray 6. Burley 7. Wotte
  2. You have ruined tomorrows thread now. ****er. Dreadful list though! I was actually in the press conference (in a Portacabin at Staplewood) when Wigley was appointed and even the press were suprised and kept asking if he meant he was Caretaker Manager.
  3. Burley ahead of Pochettino an interesting (and IMO wrong) choice, but otherwise solid. Makes you realise how much dross there was early and mid 90s too. Poor playing squads not helping of course.
  4. Wotte over Poch or Strachan?Although you do have a 7th slot free.
  5. Rank the top 7 Saints Managers (excluding caretakers) from your lifetime in terms of how you rate the job they did & their quality as a Saints Manager: 1. Adkins 2. Pochettino 3. Koeman 4. Strachan 5. Hoddle 6. Chris Nicholl 7. Pardew Then post a good picture of one of the seven.
  6. So, which of this or Liverpool will Yoshida come in for? He will almost certainly start in one those games IMO.
  7. Vince making a good impression for England in the T20s and may be offered an Adelaide deal for the Big Bash.
  8. Bony also fit. Richard Wright on the bench. Gardos, Forster and Chung Lee long term absentees for Saints.
  9. Looks like Silva fit which is a blow as he combines superbly with Aguero. However Kompany and Hart may both be missing.
  10. Didnt say anything about blooding either Rodriguez or Lallana. I said Pochettino improved both of them. Which is true. Read the actual words!
  11. He did transform Jay Rod. Lallana may have got there anyway but he certainly added something to his game. Reality now is we haven't got many/any youngsters who are good enough for our level aside from those who have already played in the first team and the likes of Targett and Reed will only figure if there are injuries. Players of the quality of Shaw don't come around every day, despite the SWF tendancy to pretend they were a lesser player as soon as we have sold them. Afterall, those few young players were probably a large reason for MP coming to us in the first place and the positve PR he gained from being a good Manager for us has helped elevate his career. Luckily for him, Spurs will be able to keep their best players for longer than we can (as has already happened with Lloris).
  12. Haha love that Sporting put clauses in to effectively stop him leaving to either Benfica, Porto or Braga. If only we did the same with Liverpool.
  13. Gape isn't going to be a first team player for Saints. Hardly a controversial statement. Neither will Isgrove, McQueen, Britt etc.
  14. But you can sing, shout and make some sort of noise. I would say clapping is below chanting in terms of generating atmopshere. Some of the best atmospheres have been in the cold.
  15. Good song. Good post. Just so we know for future, which player do you have an irrational hatred of?
  16. Rooney may be somewhere between a no9 and 10 but he is definitely a forward and he has definitely scored over 200 goals from club and country and is the record goalscorer for England so he has a pretty well defined role as an attacker who scores. Not sure its the best comparison. Its good to play different positions if you are a master of them, but versatility without that makes you unlikely to nail down a place in a good team.
  17. I didnt see many wearing layers that muffled their voice. If anything the cold would encourage people to be more active.
  18. Redmond and Phillips are as inconsistent as Tadic, with the added benefit of also having less quality.
  19. Who are those players in the PL though? Ross Barkley possibly allies steel and creativity but isn't overly consistent. I am struggling to think of anyone else? Perhaps someone like Yaya Toure when he is playing well, but different position.
  20. He was talking about them not being back for Saturday, but Silva should return. If it was for the European game then I wouldn't have posted it! http://m.goal.com/s/en-gb/news/2914/champions-league/2015/11/25/17679982/pellegrini-silva-bony-could-face-southampton?utm_referrer=http%3A%2F%2Fmobile.newsnow.co.uk%2FA%2F804070047%3F-11205%3A798
  21. Kompany likely to be missing. Mangala too. According to MP.
  22. Plus simply havent had as good players. We could field a L1 lineup with Fonte, Schneiderlin , Chamberlain, Lallana and Lambert which says it all.
  23. He talks a better game than he plays in many ways. Not a criticism either. Got to use whatever tools you have and he speaks and behaves well.
  24. Hasn't gone well for him so far, pretty much since he left Saints to be honest. Could end up back here in the Academy perhaps? If he fails at Sheff Utd his next job will probably be with a S****horpe sized club again which probably isn't how he saw it going. Wonder if his positivity has almost become a parody of itself?
  25. Which part? Do you really think we would have more points if Tadic didn't play?
