Wasn't it actually the guy's wife who was spotted? Not sure she'd be appointed but you never know with this lot.

If he's unsighted from a ball struck outside the box when the nearest players are 18 yards away from him he's doing something radically wrong - like not moving his feet and making sure he has a clear sight of what's going on. It's not like he had a bunch of players a few yards in front of him.

With the international break upon us it actually needs to be a quick appointment to give the new guy two weeks to bed himself in, get to know the players who aren't away and start to get his ideas across. It's the ideal time but we can't afford to leave it another week because that is precious time wasted. I get that we don't want to rush and make another bad appointment but Spors must have been interviewing and have some idea who he wants so get it done asap.

He is good with the ball at his feet though. That's why he gets picked. Might as well put an outfield player in goal who will be even better with his feet and probably a better shot stopper. Bonkers.

Consecutive games we comfortably lead 2-0 then Bazunu makes a howler and takes away all our momentum. How much longer are managers going to pick him, watch him chuck goals in his own net then pick him again - we're back on the rinse and repeat cycle. Madness.

Agree the SR guys wouldn't but it's surely in Solak's interest to take some advice elsewhere, identify the man for the job and appoint him over the heads of the other nomarks. Solak is top dog and is the main money source.

There's a lot here which rings massive alarm bells and shows exactly why the club is in such a mess. Sounds a complete and utter shambles from the top down. It needs a big personality with a proven track record to be appointed by Solak to take overall control of every aspect of the footballing side, someone who will command respect, rule with an iron rod and crack down hard to get this club going in the right direction. Not a multi club man but somebody who purely concentrates on what is best for Southampton FC.

Steer well clear if this is what they think.

8 defensive players then with 3 isolated attackers. Goalkeeper, 3 centre backs, 2 'wing backs' who will mainly operate as full backs and 2 defensive midfielders - against Sheffield Wednesday! What a complete farce. Hope nobody expects to see many chances created.

I have no issue with him but get the fact that it would turn toxic very quickly if he came here and didn't get off to a good start. For that reason I don't think he'd be a good choice.
