Spot on. He'll be really dangerous if we get balls whipped into the area around the six yard box where he can get his head or a long leg there ahead of defenders - he has scored a lot of goals like this without barely having to jump. Long balls would be better played to his chest for him to control and bring others into play. Have a feeling Jones will use him in completely the wrong way.

Jones is not suddenly going to start getting the results we need to avoid relegation - the only person who believes that is Ankersen.
-
But all we keep hearing from both Jones and Ankersen is how well things are going on the training ground - unfortunately you don't get any points for the work you did on the training ground. Furthermore, if that work is so good why is it not reflected on what we see on the pitch? It's nothing more than, fluff, excuses and bullshit.
-
Listening to it again I am struck by the feeble responses from Ankersen. His pathetic excuse that they see more reference points than we do showing how well Jones is performing is actually insulting people's intelligence. Then, when one fan challenged him to name the specific reference points, the best he could do was mumble something about how well training is going and how good a relationship Jones has with the players - well, none of that is bringing improvement of performances on the pitch or results in case he hasn't noticed. He's clutching at straws rather than admit he's made a monumental mistake.

My point is that he's not as clever as he makes out or many believe him to be or why would he appoint Nathan Jones? Right there he loses all credibility with me and ,many others by the sound of it and he exacerbates that by being arrogant enough to allow Jones to continue as though this is some sort of Moneyball film rather than the destruction of our football club..
-
Did you forget that Ankersen is so much cleverer than any of us?
-
Personally I thought he got off quite lightly at the Fan's Forum.
-
He had that break to stamp his brand and style on the team - I'm still waiting to see what that is because so far all I've seen is a manager juggling players and formations resembling a blind man trying to spin plates.
-
My only question from Ankersen's statement would be, how does he know what goes on at the training ground unless he is there to see it? (and I'm sure he rarely, if ever, visits training).

Ably assisted by Rasmus Ankersen.
-
Probably been quicker to run home.

I hope someone at the club has managed to sit down with Jones and given him some pointers on handling press conferences. He needs to be told to keep his responses as short as possible, not to mention his achievements at Luton, to smile a bit rather than snarl, not to be chippy and to use us and we rather than they. He should be told not to single out players and apportion blame and to accept some responsibilty himself for defeat without making excuses. If we win he needs to be humble. He needs to be told to avoid contradicting himself or making some of the bizarre statements he made last week. If the fans get on his back during the game he needs to rise above that rather than bite back. None of this will be easy for him but if he continues in the current vein he will further alienate the fan base and provide ammunition for the pundits and press to destroy him.

Not a snowball's chance in hell.

Rasmus bleeding clever-clogs Ankersen.
-
You forgot the only new player who will certainly start...Bree.
-
You've just helped Jones script his after match excuse if/when we lose....can hear him now...'Wolves are a great side, they just beat Liverpool 3 nil!'
-
Exactly this. The amount of wool being pulled over eyes and serial bullshitting from Ankersen in particular was mind blowing but clearly he has managed to get quite a few people on side.
-
I think the manner of the defeat will be a factor. Only if we are humiliated will they consider sacking him.
-
Well, as has become very apparent, I'm afraid the people choosing Jones did not know something us fans don't. All the smoke and mirrors from Ankersen that things are all sweetness and light on the training ground and they see things we are not privy to which convince them Jones will turn this around is just fluff and bullshit. Unfortunately, unless we get absolutely smashed on Saturday, we are stuck with Jones and all of us are paying for Ankersen's self indulgence. I noticed he tried to deflect the blame away from solely himself by saying they decided on Jones as a collective and all had input - if that's the case we're in a worst position than I thought because this goes to prove they are all basket cases.
-
Are you sure he spotted Thomas Frank? I think he was just part of a group that brought Frank to Brentford. It's a stretch to think someone who spotted the talent of Frank also spotted enough traits in Nathan Jones to do a similar job. The two managers are polar opposites.
-
When Jones is sacked are you happy for the same group of clowns led by Ankersen to preside over appointing his successor based on a load of claptrap algorithms and garbage spewed out by a compute? This lot haven't got a clue how to run a football club,
-
But they didn't really did they. Just came up with some glib rubbish to appease those who are willing to fall for it. It's what people like Ankersen are very good at. Jones will go sooner rather than later and rightly so. Maybe then Ankersen will grow a pair and admit he screwed up.

More spin than a twin tub washing machine from Rasmus.

A pleasure to watch these young lads who are everything the senior side is not. They pass and move, play between the lines and zip the ball around confidently while maintaining a solid shape. Every player knows his job and gets on with it with skill and effort. Chalk and cheese from the first team.

The bowed heads speak volumes.
