I haven't argued for better than Fernandes and Dibling - I'm advocating for a player who offers something different in terms of creativity.

I'm very happy that both are currently in the squad. However, I think we need a more creative midfield player because this team just does not make many goal scoring opportunities even with both Fernandes and Dibling playing. I'm not looking for better than them as such but someone different who creates chances.

Lots of good points and an accurate appraisal in my view.

Dibling is a work in progress with potential to be a very good player but my take is that he is not ready yet despite some flashes of brilliance. Fernandes is super at what he does but does he really notch up many assists? Haven't checked the stats so could be wrong but I don't recall loads of assists from him.

I thought Dragan promised us a defender, a forward and a midfielder without having to sell players - we have a defender and forward but not the midfielder he mentioned.

Agree and this is my concern. Others have cited Fernandes and Dibling but I think we need a player more consistently creative than either of those two - a ball carrier who can beat his man, occupy space between the lines, pick a killer pass or cross and drive us forward.

Yeah, it was no penalty for sure but no defending Jack for that first goal - it was a huge mistake.

Not sure Manning played any part in gifting the first goal - it was all Stephen's own work.

It's not for me to pick the side, the formation or to decide who fits where but lack of creativity has been a major issue for a while now and needs to be resolved.

We are just not a creative side at the moment and that's why I still think we need to bring in at least one more midfielder who can knit everything together and unlock defences - often one player can make a massive difference to a side and I think the right one could transform us.

Can he do it consistently though? He strikes me as a young kid who still has much to learn. In patches he looks unplayable but we need to see it more regularly and maybe he's not ready yet. I hope he stays and has a stand-out season but will those two things happen?

None of those are creative or able to dribble forward to open up space I'm afraid. We need an Eyal Berkovic type who can unlock defences and cause some panic ( and I get we can't afford anyone of his level which is why I said 'type'). Fernandes is a very good young player but I don't see him as being creative enough.

About that 3 year contract - was there a cooling off period? Gotta hope so 🙂

Will Still is surely no fool - he would be absolutely mad to put at risk the major opportunity he's been given to prove himself by picking Jack Stephens as anything other than a rarely used substitute. He must have seen more than enough to realise the guy is a complete liability and will cost goals left, right and centre. I'm hoping he's smarter than that.

By being vocal does that mean he yells, 'Shit, I fucked up again' on a very regular basis.

Is that Jack Stephens? Alfie describes him as the Club Captain and he looks more like Charlie Taylor.

I wonder if he'll get a transfer but be loaned back to us for a season.

Most of them when compared to ours.

It's not only interest from this country.

Rangers haven't and will not offer £10m for him - they cannot pay that kind of money and want him on loan.
