Well, he has to utilise the players he has, but I've been of the opinion that we need a different kind if midfielder all season. Cork, Hammond and Morgan are all too similar. I wonder if we could play 4231 with lallana in behind the front man. But that would mean we need a new left sided midfielder/winger ala Matt Jarvis.

No excuse. We need to start getting a cm ahead of the ball and into goal scoring positions.

By the way, we also lack goalscoring midfielders. Apart from Lalallana, our midfielder's goals contribution has been poor. Oh wait, hang on, Guly has scored 10. That can't be right can it? He's sh!t. Seriously though, Hammond, Cork and Morgan need to start chipping in with some goals ffs.

This is what I've been thinking. There may be only 5 games left in which we go into them hoping/expecting to win, or have a fine chance of winning. If we go up, next season will be very different. I think we should enjoy these remaining games while we can. All this just goes to show that the pressure at the top is just as high as down at the bottom. It's not easy being top, but against (let's face it) all the odds we've managed to stay there for the majority of the season. None of us expected this this season. You don't stay top this long by being lucky. If you're top after 40-odd games, then you deserve to be, because you're the best team in the league. We should not forget how good we are, cos we ARE good. We wouldn't be top if we weren't. Despite all the Guly haters, we're still there. Despite disappointing derby draws, we're still there. Despite 0-3 away defeats, still there. COYS!!

Well, I read Hardman as a strong midfielder that can boss the middle of the park. Not necessarily a brainless leg breaker.

I only read the title and I totally agree that this is what we need. We should pay whatever it takes to get one too. 5,6,7m. A strong midfielder is the backbone of the whole team. Get one in.

Well I agree that they're quite similar. In fact, I feel that Hammond, cork, and Morgan are all too similar. I posted this when we were playing all three in midfield. However, out of the three I feel that Hammond is the weakest. Cork offers more energy and Morgan offers more creativity.

Seriously though, he needs to cut this out. He's a very good player, but could be a great player if his decision making was better and quicker. If he was half a second quicker in his head he'd be awesome.

Lallana out ffs

I've just watched the football league highlights after originally watching a video stream of the game yesterday which is almost impossible to watch. Anyway, first up, the tackle that led to Morgan going off deserved a booking. The Pompey player went over the top and studded Morgan's knee. He got away with it though. Secondly, I don't feel Guly was at fault for the first goal. He had tracked back but he was in a different position to the attacker. Cork was 5 yards away and only had to close him down but didn't react quickly enough. Guly is made the scapegoat fair too often on here. Lastly, Harding was disgraceful. He was nearest to Norris when the ball came into the box for their 2nd goal. All he had to do was run 10 yards and he'd have been there to head it away. Terrible defending. It seems to me that what we need to do is learn how to concentrate for every second of every minute of the game. We are switching off too easily. If we go up, Hammond is not good enough. He's pedestrian at best and just doesn't offer anything special IMO. We need a high energy midfielder. Harding, who I also think has been unfairly slated, is also not good enough for the prem. I'd like to see us be more prepared to shoot at goal. Not from distance but just when we get a sniff. Lallana and De Ridder Both had chances to shoot but made the wrong decision. You can't win the raffle if you don't buy a ticket. I beleive Lallana tried to win a penalty and I don't like to see that myself.

Morgan makes us tick. Really? Not Lallana, or Lambert. I'm shocked!
