If he resigns, do scunny get no compo?
-
Oooh, a decade! I take it all back. Seriously though, if he and his family are not prepared to up sticks and move down here to what would quite possibly be the job of his life, then he can stay there as far as I'm concerned. Would you go for a job in Rochdale and then tell yer missus about it afterwards? No, you'd discuss it, weigh up the pros and cons and make an informed decision about whether to go for it. Wouldn't you? Maybe it's just me. It's not like there's another Southampton FC down the road from scunny is it?
-
Oh for gods sake. He's in football. A footballer, and any footballing staff move around the country all the time. Think about that. That's the life of a footballer/coach/manager/scout/whatever. I think he would've discussed it with his family before the interview or else what's the point?
-
What about his family exactly? It's not like he was in outer mongolia is it?
-
See, personally, I don't give two hoots that Hoddle didn't say goodbye or whatever. Obviously some are still smarting over it.
-
Yeah? Plenty more written by others. I just feel that the bloke should've stayed down here and started first thing. Woosie reason to go back home. Apparently he got 1 hours sleep last night. He woulda got more if he hadn't spent 5 hrs in the car back home.

Loyalty is exactly what he's failed to show. Christ, he can say goodbye anytime! This is business. New job. Start now. We've got a game on sat FFS. THIS IS YOUR NEW CLUB! Act like it is man!

SSN reporting that S****horpe say the offer to Adkins is withdrawn
Webby replied to Topcat's topic in The Saints
I have no idea, but what else is there to talk about? I stop short of making it up myself. -
I don't feel NC has done anything wrong in wanting his new guy to start ASAP. This is what he apparently requested and was refused. Would you go for a massive new job that you dearly wanted, get offered that job, and refuse your new bosses request to start the next day?
-
It's not tantrum. All agreed terms. Jobs yours Nigel. Can you start tomorrow? Er, no, I wanna go home and say goodbye to my old staff. Um, hello? Do you want the job or not? Pillock.
-
Exactly. I'd have given him a hug if that's what he wanted.
-
From NC's point of view, yeah. You know, come on Nigel, where's yer loyalty? What it says is that he doesn't care about our next fixture.

Repost: South Today just reported that Adkins and his assistant agreed to the job around midnight last night and that NC wanted them to stay in Southampton and take training/meet the players this morning. Adkins wanted to go home and 'say goodbye' to staff and players at Scunny and did so against NC's wishes. If that is the case, then IMO Adkins is in the wrong. His allegiance should switch immediately and he should do everything in his power to take Southampton forward, even if that meant starting at 8am this morning. I can't believe he went home!! -

I didn't see the performance, but I'd be a bit ...distracted... if my management team had been removed the day before.
-
It is the chairman's right, in any business, to sack the manager, or any staff if he feels it is in the best interests of the company/club. Until those staff have been replaced we won't know if he has made the right decision or not, and even then we have to be patient. At the end of the day, we'll just have to wait and see. Sorry for the sensible post.
-
My money's on O'Neill however unlikely that may seem. He's good with young players, and I think that's what NC wants.

Or small toy dogs.

I just thought of a swiss connection... So, to the tune of The Sound Of Music: The Saints are alive cos of Marcus Liebherr, and we'll go marching on for a thousand years, The Saints are alive thanks to Marcus Liebherr, and we'll go marching on for a thousand years. Admit it, it works!

He never interviews well imo

For what it's worth, I don't like it either. But what can you do eh? He says, cancelling his subscription.
