I think the intentions are clear, and if you ignore the money and just think 'swap AOC for a striker and a centre back of future prem quality' then I think that's good business. I honestly think you'll see us spending up to 10m on those 2 positions in this window, so in fact we'll have a few million left for the jan window to reassess the situation.

Connolly is not going to be able play every game. There are plenty of games for everyone to feel involved, plus it wouldn't hurt to rest Ricky once in a while. Still think we need a big strong centre half.

I'm not loving that chant to be honest. It's difficult to come up with chants that use tunes that haven't been used for chants before. Coming up with a tune that will work is tricky, and who would have thought that Ricky Lambert tune would sound so good? What is it? When Johnny comes marching home? Anyway, I've just thought of this, to the tune of Parklife by Blur. It's a chorus that works being shouted: Oh, Southampton, we are Southampton, and we play in red and white, and we'll win the fight, cos we are the saints. That's the best lyrics I can come up with at this hour.

No, you're right, but as I said earlier, having re-read it, it could be taken to mean the top two divisions of leagues abroad. It's a kind of catch-all statement. For instance, it could mean The Championship here, and The Eredivisie in Holland or some other top league in europe.

So, I want to know who are these Prem League managers that applied. It would be very dodgy for that statement to be factually incorrect.

A N Other Better manager doesn't necessarily mean better for us. NC has chosen what he feels is the best man for the job, for this moment in time, for us. Saying that, I'd still like to know which prem league managers applied. Or could that statement include assistant managers too?

There were reports of an offer being withdrawn the other day. What was that all about? Could NC have offered NA an extra incentive to quit Scvnthorpe, and NA wanted his club to benefit from compo so refused? I dunno, I'm sure it'll be sorted soon. Sometimes, I wish there was no internet!
