Stewart looks sharp tbf to him
-
Four new signings on. Kinda
-
Not often you see a quad sub
-
Forget what I said, Stephens just flattened Bruno Fernandes so I think he's alright
-
I like KWP, he's probably out best player. But he's been ripped to shreds today
-
Andy Townsend keeps saying we're "lightweight". It's not wrong, technically we're very good, but defensively we're wide open and we offer no threat at goal.
-
We genuinely looked good for a spell, but as soon as the heads drop then we just fall apart. Archer and BBD are anonymous, not sure it's entirely their fault. We aren't even winning the possession now, heads went completely after that second goal.
-
All over. Oh well we were good for 20 mins
-
Who was that playing them all onside?
-
Bad penalty. He never looked confident did he? That's going to cost us
-
Penalty, dibling
-
Free header, got to do better. But it's encouraging to have a big guy up there winning headers from corners
-
KWP just sent de Ligt to the shops 😂
-
BBD is still very wide, he's never far from the touchline. I don't understand the reasoning behind it
-
Save, Ramsdale. They should have done better
-
Like chalk and cheese from the last game
-
Dibling, that would have been some goal
-
Commentator hasn't mentioned Saints yet, forgot what it's like to play one of the big boys
-
Not having a pop, I think it's probably the best line up we could field (Maybe THB for Stephens).
-
Smells like a "pull your finger out or you're fired" line up. One thing's for certain, it's not going to be 0-0.

https://www.reddit.com/r/SaintsFC/s/lx3aVrfZa4 Apparently the Feyenoord chief is questioning why we pulled out of the Bijlow deal. Seems like sour grapes from him, but I can imagine he's annoyed his "asset" is suddenly worth a lot less.

The athletic did a write up about each teams transfer window. Here's a link with paywall bypass: https://web.archive.org/web/20240903060907/https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5735669/2024/09/03/premier-league-clubs-transfer-window-ranking/ For anyone who doesn't want to read it all, here's our bit.... 10 – Southampton A Chelsea/Nottingham Forest-esque splurge of almost 20 new signings from last season’s Championship play-offs winners, reflecting the job at hand for manager Russell Martin — who will need plenty of time to pull it all together while maintaining a style of play that sees them keep the ball more than Barcelona in their tiki-taka heyday. Southampton old boys Ryan Fraser and Adam Lallana came back, Aaron Ramsdale was an excellent signing who could prove the difference in their anticipated relegation battle and someone had to sign Maxwel Cornet (so Southampton did). Meanwhile, Ben Brereton Diaz at just £6.5million could be the bargain of the summer. Overall, pretty decent. Describe it in one word: Feverish

I couldn't see what Charley did wrong there to get the card, but the original challenge was filthy 😂

The co-commentator on today's match feed was absolutely scathing of the system being played. If anyone on Sky repeated that stuff then a lot of people would take notice.
