There's a post on Ugly Inside that we've bid £3m for K Schmeichal
Crazy Diamond replied to HurleyBurley's topic in The Saints
I find it hard to take anything from 'The Ugly Inside' seriously when they cannot spell even the most basic of words. But if it's Turkish that's fine, I expect to see him unveiled on Monday along with Buttner. -
I'll be the tired looking chap. I'm going to start off at Eastleigh as I know someone who parks down there, they're going to give me a lift. I think I'll be doing Shawford in about a month's time.
-
The man they call 'Juan'. Yes there certainly is cause for optimism.
-
Yep it certainly will, but I'm on just a three month contract with no guarantee of a permanent thing at the end - like I say they will be moving to Holborn soon so if I do get a permanent contract it'll be easier. Driving is a bit tricky as I had an accident and accumulated six points - it now costs me the price of the car to get insured. Thanks. I did look at doing the Surbiton thing but it looks like five or six changes just to get there, might be a bit hectic. Thing is, suburban services run from Woking, so it's amazing that they don't even go to CJ. Yep, looked into that. It's quicker however to go back on myself and get on a train headed for Victoria at Clapham Junction. I was at London Bridge the other day and I don't really want to go back. Horrible place. Shawford. I did speak to 'Granty' actually, who told me he doesn't get out of bed until eight every morning. I'll be up at half five to get to Shawford for half six. Unfortunately my business chum, it was the only job I could get after a year out of work and looking for anything I could get in my profession. I quite agree it's a pain in the arse to get to - I'll be up at 5:30 each morning for a 6:49 train, I'll be lucky to get home before 8pm. I'll have about two hours to myself before I go to bed to do it all again. It is the only job offer I have had and it's a good job at that.

It wasn't Dalek was it? -
Cranie was a key part of several Coventry sides that always talked about going up and then did well to avoid the drop, until they were so financially ruined that they eventually did go down. I'd wonder if he's even good enough for the Championship.
-
Quite. I saw a comment that said Guthrie would have been a better option. The argument being 'you don't have to be very good to play for Glasgow Rangers'. So a UEFA Cup finalist and international captain with World Cup and European Championship qualification experience, isn't as good as a the odd season with Newcastle and Bolton in the top flight? Do me a favour...
-
When we was younger, of course. Think it was already mentioned a while back. Oh and Salomon Kalou will be signing for Lille, another one to chalk off.
-
So ignoring the fact he played for two Premier League clubs, was wanted by Manchester United, and only left England so he could join his boyhood club where he contested a UEFA Cup final, he couldn't cut it. Yes that sounds like the average informed opinion on here.
-
That's what I'm saying - surely we don't need any other songs. My suggestion could be a variation on the theme though, in case we get bored.
-
I thought we already discussed "you dirty Catalonian bastardos, we're coming for you". How about "Vamos! Vamos! We are Southampton boys, vamos! Vamos! And if you are a Barca fan surrender or you'll die!"

It's a very strange world with some of our fans. I can remember seeing on multiple occasions a section of supporters saying they didn't want Davis. The second he signs most of them change their tune. On top of that there are those who say that it's all ******** and we're never going to sign him, you're a fool to believe it. Even the most far fetched of rumours have some basis in truth. Just because a move doesn't happen, it doesn't mean it was never going to. Andy Carroll was linked with Spurs a lot, it never happened. There was genuine interest though. Of course, the waters have been muddied somewhat with agents and people pretending to be agents...
-
People are being quite quick to write Mr. Hammond off since the arrival of Steven Davis, and I'm curious to know why. He signed a new contract last season through to 2015, and if we were apparently gunning for promotion straight away (but were expected to do it within two or three years, someone will correct me I'm sure), why would he have been presented with such a deal? I also saw one person say that Davis is 'the captain we've always needed'. Really? I don't think Dean has done all that badly so far with his two promotions and cup competition. I realise we're a Premier League club now and apparently have great ambitions, but we also want to build a squad, not take a successful component out of it, don't we?

Just a quick question for the regular commuters. I start a new job on Monday and I have to commute from Shawford to Crystal Palace for 9am every morning. It's an interesting journey, 6:49 train to Waterloo, I then have to come back on myself to get back to Clapham Junction, then get a train to Crystal Palace. Just wondering why trains between 7am and 9am don't stop at Clapham Junction? I seem to remember that at the very least trains stopped at Woking so you could change, but now they don't even do a service from Woking to Clapham Junction at that time of morning. Bizarre if you ask me. I seem to remember that they wanted you to avoid Waterloo at all costs, so made you change at Clapham Junction and go from there. Now it's the other way around entirely. Going through Waterloo will cost me an extra £40 on top of the £400-odd that I'll be paying for a season ticket. Thankfully it's not a journey i'll be doing for very long as my office is relocating to Holborn, but it's certainly going to be a tiring journey until then.
-
You're a cruel person. Clearly.
-
Reaction seems to be quite positive. I'd like to see him play before making a judgement, but to sign a proven international player who has accumulated quite a sum of money in transfer fees, played in the top flight for a long time, all on a free? I suspect that's going to prove good business for us.
-
Forget that. Neymar's had a haircut and joined.
-
Tom Coull just said 'Butt what could it be'... So possibly!

Something on the OS shortly.

Someone mentioned Park Ji-Sung not so long ago. Fourth Official, who is right sometimes despite what other people may say, reckons he's having a medical at QPR. -
For a League One team with average support, it's a lot. They also don't have their own training ground at the moment, plus they don't own Dean Court. Basically, not many assets. You never know. I mean at least this guy actually exists, but whilst he deliberately keeps quiet, you have to wonder. Also why a loan? Why own only 50% of the club? How can it be that a billionaire only owns half and insists on loaning the cash and not giving it over?
-
I think the main part of that is 'meant to be a billionaire'. I know for a fact that the BBC Solent sport crew asked the Football League to do the 'fit and proper persons test' and they weren't interested in doing it. That may have changed since. Mitchell himself is a dangerous bloke. There were accusations of being an alcoholic that he never answered properly. Starting on fans, swearing on national radio, the whole team talk thing... It's not good.
-
Ouch! I think reserving judgement on him would be a good idea though, people saying 'great signing!' etc. We've seen a matter of minutes of him from a YouTube compilation. No one can honestly call it at the moment. De Ridder was the same - YouTube video got us all hyped up, often he failed to live up to those heights, if he even played at all.
-
Good to see Ed where he is at the moment. He overcame stomach cancer a few years ago. Dan Lobb of Daybreak, formerly Sky, is also a Saints fan. Hails from Colden Common and attended Peter Symonds College - just like me!
-
Nice to see there's a footballer who knows his limits.
