  1. Well the bloke that started it sent us all a message; "there's 26,000 on the Southampton Network and over 6000 in the Saints related supporters groups. Surely a few of these would like Southampton to host some 2018 Worlds Cup matches at St Mary's. So forward on the group page to anyone you know who might agree with us and I'll put out a press release about the group's support when we reach the 500 mark (by the end of the week would be great). I heard that John Motson is a bid vice-president and am trying to lock down an email for him that we could all send a plea to. I'll also have a look into David Beckham's contact details to see if we can get a message of support from him. We have A FORTNIGHT before the FA makes a decision on which cities will be attached to their final bid offered to FIFA. Let's give it a go" Must be worth a go even if pointless or slim chance.
  2. Joined mate, it should have its own thread and maybe made a sticky for a while.
  3. I joined 'Let SOUTHAMPTON bid to be a host city for the 2018 World Cup' on facebook and just had this message; there's 26,000 on the Southampton Network and over 6000 in the Saints related supporters groups. So forward on the group page to anyone you know who might agree with us and I'll put out a press release about the group's support when we reach the 500 mark (by the end of the week would be great). 4. Think he is getting better and better, after a few games I feel he will be a real threat, good vision for the goal as well I'd say well done.
  5. He does have some real skill though and not only does he read the game well his vision is really good, I think he is getting better and better. We have to give him time, he played well.
  6. Just joined and asked all my mates and family to as well.
  7. Not really sure AP has a priority in the sence he is taking everything serously.
  8. Good draw that.

Does this mean you recon there is a chance of it coming back to southampton or not? I understand the cost of buying is not the main expence, its the up-keep. I don't know bu**er all about the sort of money needed but if in southampton I wonder if it would be good business? Hopefully yes.

I remember a consortium was interested in buying this to keep in Southampton or something but was beaten to it by the Dubai lot, fair play. I was just reading in the Times that they may need to now sell it does it seem realistic at all that this consortium may still be interested? Does anyone know who they were or if it were just a bit o gossip? And what are the thought of anyone on here? PS would love it here but have to say not holding my breath! PPS here is the Times link http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/markets/the_gulf/article6936251.ece
  11. Please 4 messages aint going to be enough even though it prob will not help anyway, lets put some positive comments on here
  12. Has there been any subs? just thinking of resting some of the key players
  13. Can't complain can we really!
  14. I have phoned the FA; the number is on this link http://www.thefa.com/TheFA/WhoWeAre/ContactUs/NewsAndFeatures/2007/Contact_Us.aspx As the top number relates to all football matters I thought I would phone and leave a message stating why I believe Southampton should be accepted, it really would be great for Hampshire and I think it best not to give up till the last min, if others can leave a message they all will go to the correct department 'world cup host citys' and at least its may help more than a kick up the arse!! COYR
  15. Would love to see skates loose to some non league side, and would love saints to beat Northampton, and part of me thinks if we were to get a prem side they may field a bit of a second string side as to keep players fit for the prem, someone like wigan or hull, maybe even burnley. My thought, I would hate to get beaten by Pompy. COYR today though and as much as I dont say this much come on Man U!!
  16. Kinda do agree though.
  17. I actually think NC will be trying very hard behind the scenes to try and bring it down here, not even sure why but just think he may be one of those people who can make things happen, just like getting ML to buy us. Not really sure if there is anything the humble fan can do, but if it were local as well as it being great for business and investment within the city I would love to take my kids if not to the stadium (if prices are stuped as well as going to corperate bosseds or whatever) would love to take my kids as well as the whole family to the 'fan zones'. I know its a very very long shot but I have my fingers crossed.
  18. A bloke on the echo website put this up; Here starts the Echo readers/Saints supporters bid to persuade the FA to let the city bid. Let your voice be known by airing it on these sites...... http://www.england20 18bid.com/support/re gister.aspx http://www.2018engla nd.co.uk/southampton -hoping-to-be-allowe d-late-city-bid.html http://www.2018-engl and.co.uk/advancedgu estbook/addentry.php Who's to say we can't get some momentum going by getting other English team's supporters to back us as well. Anyone thinking of doing a facebook group page for this???
  19. Just went on the FA website and there was a link for pledge support and so I did, but on comment just added "bring it to southampton" ever the optimist!!!!!
  20. Feel really poo now, would love it here.
  21. He was talking on radio solent saying something regarding a bid from southampton! thank you for the link though but all those other places none are in the south, cheers!
  22. Got the impression that Royston Smith (cllr) is trying to get it in Southampton, surly great news? Does anyone know anything more? like who are the other citys?
  23. 6 points till mid table, not that bad is it?
  24. Does this mean we will turn to the ugly stuff, to keep lead?
  25. He was holding that team together, thought he may have a chance even with the dross he had. I mean what bwas he supposed to do and you say Grant wants to take over (wont make any difference) they play 4 top teams soon and what did AP say about loosing mentality?
