  1. Perhaps Steve Morgan has a thing about 'hamptons' - check if he is also buying Northampton and Littlehampton.
  2. As I remember it, CN had that team forced on him due to injuries and, although it treated us to an feast of attacking football against Liverpool, he reverted to 4 - 3 - 3 in the next game.
  3. So we can never learn from the past?
  4. Hugh Fisher was a very good player - skillful and combative; I don't think that he figures as an all time great though as he wasn't necessarily an automatic selection for the team that he played in.
  5. Dead right - Nicoll fell out with Mark Dennis, I believe, and the mob were up in arms because of his treatment of a terrace hero. There were also some poor results against Derby and Ipswich and the crowd got what they wanted. And then came Branfoot...
  6. Same here and we still enjoyed our football down in the depths - I think that these things are cyclical and we will rise again (I just hope I'll still be around to see it!)
  7. Not really, he was often a substitute himself.
  8. GK - Tim Flowers DF - Chris Nichol MF - Rod Wallace ST - Martin Chivers UP - Brian O'Neil B-Team GK - Ian Black DF - John McGrath MF - John Sydenham ST - Alan Shearer UP - Trevor Hebbard So many players to choose from!
  9. Did you mean. 'I hope he's ... '
  10. I can't really argue with what you, UP and WE say and fear that you may well be right. I still think we should see if he actually makes a difference before calling for his head though.
  11. I have no idea as I have not seen one of his teams play yet - not even for five minutes. Is it alright to see the team in action under his guidance before I write him off as a coach?
  12. It does seem a strange decision but people wrote similar stuff when Strachan was appointed.
  13. My mum would have nominated him but I don't think StL accepts nominations from beyond the grave.
  14. I'm torn between Chivers and Shearer - as I can only nominate one, I think it will be Chivers.
  15. I agree with the sentiments expressed but I am certain that Shilton didn't let seven in against Everton - Granger let six in in 1986 when Shilton was injured (we lost 1 - 6)...
  16. Why not? If he said all that then they would be daft not to use it.
  17. You must have hated it when we won last weekend.
  18. Scrap and start again? Are you trying to influence the poll?
  19. Ignore him Derry - he is obviously just being silly.
  20. Very true but it's been fun doing it this way round - it turns it into an intelligence test.
  21. Fair enough - I can't argue with that!
  22. Yes, i do understand how a poll works - thanks for explaining it to me, though. However, if you read the preceding replies - Norwaysaint is urging people to vote for Ron Davies to be in the B Team even though he thinks he is the best thing since Stanley Matthews. My 'not yet' was simple guidance to him.
