  1. There is a world of difference between a member of the forces raping someone and rape being used as a weapon of war as it has been in areas of Africa, especially the Congo. Greer, or as I understood her, was using the later argument and not the former.
  2. Couple of Falkland vet's on here, including an AB® radar who was on watch when the exocet hit.
  3. Totally. As a nipper we often used to go to the ex-servicemans club on Archers Rd and I often chatted to blokes who'd been torpedoed on convoy duty. As I got older and gained a greater understanding of what these poor sods went through my admiration of them grew and grew. My family have a long maritime history, both merchant and RN and anyone whose been at action stations on a ship will tell you, when the shooting starts it's a 'kin scary place to be and those blokes did it for weeks on end, for years. Braver men than me.
  4. It often appears to me that those who are the keenest for our forces to get involved are the least likely to be ones at the sharp end.
  5. Then you should no better than to make such a w@nkerish statement. Especially as a number of posters on here are ex RN who saw service in the Falklands and Gulf War I. I lost family on HMS Hood and HMS Barnham so suggesting the RN had it easy makes you a c**t IMHO.
  6. Because the Atlantic convoys were a doddle, not to mention the runs to Murmansk. Piece of ****** they were. 'kin had it right easy did the RN/RNR/RNVR.
  7. If I whinged as much as the old folk on here I would welcome my impeding death whole heatedly. Most accept the club co*ked up with the untrailed rise for those between 60-65 and most accept that those in that age bracket who have season tickets should still get a discount. However, the fact that season tickets can still be purchased that allows you to watch matches at the grand sum of £16 per game is, to the vast majority I'd suggest, seen as a bargain. The continued whinging that you can't have the best seats in the house for the next to nothing is rather pathetic when other options are available, even if you feel that you have some strange right to have a discount wherever you sit. I don't necessarily want to sit where I do but if I want the discount for my nipper and I then I accept that's where I have to. If I want to sit elsewhere then I'll have to pay the going rate. It's now the same for you guys. There will come a time when I'm priced out. I know that and accept that and I will consider it unfair but that's life.
  8. He's a co*k who clearly doesn't understand how to read a companies accounts?
